Murderbot RarePair Rendezvous is here!
Join us for an event celebrating the rarest of pairings you can find in the Murderbot fandom!
This is a TMBD event to celebrate all those underappreciated romances, crackships you've been harbouring, and brand new, never been shipped before pairings (extra bragging rights if you create the first fanwork for a pairing on Ao3!)
To be included a ship must have less than 50 works on Ao3 or less than 5 authors writing for the ship!
And for those who don't have a specific idea in mind, don't worry! We have a Wheel of Names which you can use to generate some absurd and interesting fics, as well as a list of fourteen tropey romance prompts to be released on 2nd of August! These aren't a requirement for the event, just a little extra support for those who are interested!
We are welcoming all types of TMBD fanworks for this event, if you've got an underappreciated work you can post it!
What is Murderbot RarePair Rendezvous
Murderbot RarePair Rendezvous is, to put it simply, an event inspiring people to write rarepairs's for the Murderbot Diaries! Easy peasy!
The event starts with the release of the Trope List on August 2nd and works will be revealed from August 24th!, bringing together artists, graphic makers, and authors from The Murderbot Diaries Fandom and challenging them to create at least one rarepair fanwork for the month!
If you feel like pushing yourself, you can create a piece of work for every prompt - we have 14 exciting ones to choose from! - but if you know that's a bit too much work for you personally feel free to just submit one piece for your favourite rarepair
Where can I find the prompt list?
The prompt list will be published on the 2nd of August! You can find it here on the official Murderbot RarePair Rendezvous blog when the time comes!
You can add any fanwork to the Murderbot Diaries RarePair Rendezvous Collection on Ao3 or to this tumblr!
Make sure to tag your work appropriately and with whichever rarepair you've created, and use the MurderbotRarePairRendezvous2026 on Ao3 and Tumblr!
What does this mean? It means anyone is allowed to enter as long as their fill follows the rules of the event!
All rarepairs and any TMBD characters are accepted, as long as the pairing has less than 50 works or fewer than 5 creators it will be accepted into the collection!
Crossovers are allowed, so long as they follow the previous established guidelines!
If the Character/OC pairing follows the previous rules (under 50 works/less than 5 authors) its allowed!
Please submit via the methods previously described and please don't reveal works until August! If you want to publish your work elsewhere (DeviantArt, Twitter, Pillowfort etc) please wait until after August 31st
Fanfic can be any rating but due to Tumblr's guidelines, we ask that any fanart or GIFs be rated M or below!
