From One Place to Another
Sitting inside trains
Looking out the window
The frames picturesque
and your longing denied
Its a new start
From tomorrow
And today is everyday
Opposite to strangers
Flashing pearly whites
Seething on the inside
Leave me alone
I want no company
Not even the thoughts
that keep me up at night
Its velvet fluff
Its leather, shiny
But its hated all the same
At least as long as
it takes to reach my hometown
Then its lovely
And worth more than
gold hand-me-downs
Its finally tomorrow,
but it stays the same
until the train stops
and all your baggage
crashes round your thighs.
