Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
100% of proceeds will go to the victims of the marathon bombings. please help with what you can, folks.
the what, the why.
at 2:50 pm on marathon monday 2013, i was at the lenox hotel celebrating a close friend's crossing the finish line earlier, removed from boylston street by a few doors. we had just come in and ordered our foods&drinks.
we were about 50 yards away from both bombs when they went off one after another.
there is a lot to be said about what followed, but suffice it to say that we were very lucky to walk out of the back bay unharmed--physically, anyway--that afternoon. not everyone was, unfortunately.
the following day, i decided to pay a tribute to my beautiful city of boston, and to its strong, resilient people. because one does not necessarily appreciate enough what one has, until...well, it is taken away.
the best way i know of to do that is to share the moments, the ordinary moments i come across through my lens--never been a great speaker...
so i suppose this is a visual diary of the hub, my hub.
i hope you enjoy it.
newsflash.
