Photographer Jessica Fulford-Dobson Captures the Joy of Young Afghan Skateboarders
In Afghanistan, girls aren’t allowed to bicycle but they are allowed to skateboard. So, in 2007 a non-profit that pairs skating and education called ‘Skateistan’ descended on the country. Skateboarding is now the #1 sport for women in Afghanistan. Photographer Jessica Fulford-Dobson took these award-winning portraits of skateboarding girls in Kabul.
This is one of my favorite non-profits but I figured I would throw in a link so you can help support/donate to a great thing! They also have other facilities around the globe. Lets keep Skateistan rolling!
Melanie from Baltimore laying down the truth to Vice reporters during a livestream.
Well this is the strangest message I’ve ever received on facebook. Oh internet haters....
A Palestinian father playfully balances his son on his right hand at the beach in Gaza City early one evening.
The coast of Gaza has grown increasingly popular over the years. It had always been a sight for weary eyes but with Israel’s siege denying Gazans the freedom to move, its seemingly endless seascape offers, for many, a very tangible escape, even if only temporal. It has also become a very popular family destination. Entire meals are prepared, served, and eaten here, and it is not uncommon to stay the night, father, son, and all.

Masha’Allah. This is really refreshing. I hate that I only see Gazans on my dash when they’re bleeding and broken.
