Hi!!!

So I love your art and expecially how you draw hair, and I was wondering if you have any tips on how to think of hairstyles?? besides using references i mean... Ive been working on drawing hair for a little bit and its kinda hard to think of a hairstyle and then draw a messy look if you know what I mean. Like if drawing Keith's hair, you draw it with strands going in different directions but still keep the shape lol. So I was wondering if you have a process to designing hair styles or if you just draw it lmao.

yeah I have the general shape in mind and the thing when adding more hair strands, it's mostly to make it a bit more detailed or fluffier looking!

the general look is from how the lines communicate with each other, that kinda goes for drawing in general, but because hair gets simplified with a mix of curves, pointed edges and straight lines, they have to balance each other out or the shape falls apart

so for example if you have a curved line going in, you tend to balance it with a curve going out, if each curve contributes to a bigger shape, then you can have multiple curved lines going in the same direction

it also depends from which character it is because the type of hairstyle and how long is the hair would lead to different results!
