Song 2. This song was written last year about something that had happened years before. First love and all that messy stuff.
Song 1. This was written last summer during a time of very low self-esteem. We all can have a tendency to be very hard on ourselves, and this song was an attempt to convince myself that I do not have to be so mean. We all deserve self-love. @eatingdisorderconfession @eatingdisorderrecovery @eatingdisordersupport @bodypositivism @bodyposipanda @bodypositiveinspiration-blog

my perspective. but only sometimes
some days i feel great, others not so much. it’s interesting how the worst enemy in life can be yourself. how much of the world is all about perspective. how you see yourself & how you see what’s around you. i’m looking up now
i’m looking up.

music to me
i like to write sad songs. i’ve always been drawn to mellow, sad music. not necessarily because i am a sad person, more because i feel that sad music has more authenticity. sad music is a comfort; a way to know you’re not completely alone in your loneliness, that others share similar pain and sadness.
i write sad songs as a therapeutic means to express myself, and deal with certain emotions, situations and mental heath battles within myself. even though the songs themselves may sound sad, in truth, they are all part of the healing process to becoming better.
i believe there is great strength in dealing with sadness; courage in expression and honesty; and beauty in human vulnerability.
the beginning
this is the beginning in the midst of my story. this is the place i will share my thoughts & music.
