based on what do you guys pick your avatar dragons?

based on your flight? your lair theme? the current elemental festival? other things? i’d love to see your avatar dragons!! \o/

I pick based on the elemental avatar thing that I feel like putting on my account at the time or based on sheer love. Diablo here is pretty important to me so I have him on…everything pretty much haha.

I pick based on which dragon I think is really representing the clan at the time I’m feeling like changing it. Sometimes it’s also just “who looks really good as a headshot rn” lmao

I won Mayb in a giveaway waaaay back in 2013 and pretty much immediately made him my mascot (since he so embodied my at-the-time mostly pink lair). Then he became my self-insert dragon and he’s been my icon both on-site and on tumblr ever since. Other dragons could represent my lore and color schemes better but I prefer showing a representation of ‘me’ as icons. (My personal blog icon has only been variations of my fursonas)

In years 1-2 I changed my avatar all the time, but I settled on the one I feel like goes best with the little Nature flag that I see at all times in the upper right, and on my profile page (and now, with my forum vistas.) It’s a snapper not just because I love snappers but because it fills the entire avatar with color. I don’t like having the white background on other breeds, especially over vistas, lol.

I have switched it a couple of times based on who looks good, but I keep Nimrook as the icon 99% of the time because A) My profile’s namesake and B)  one of my merc gang’s leaders.

Usually it’s a combination of who has the best headshot and if their colours match any of the vistas I have. 

Bonus if I like their apparel and can see it in the icon. (ex. my tumblr icon)

Lumen was actually the first one that caught my eye because I really like his colors!! I’m always a sucker for platinum and moon (I first thought it was ice??) and his apparel is rather simple but fits perfectly! what a nice soft boy

Absinthe’s color scheme is really interesting, I still struggle finding good dragons with metallic, but in her case it looks perfect! her apparel gives a nice garden witch feel, and her accent plays really well into her entire look!

Radley is such a nice gen1 omg look at those warm colors!!! the gene plan you’ve got for him looks amazing, together with his apparel he’ll be a beautiful boy (even tho he already looks perfect!)

Here’s an idea:

Let’s have a special thing on the site where every Saturday, either plague or light gets extra daily treasure, discounts, and other nice stuff for a week!

Then, every time someone points out that it’s not really balanced or fair, everyone from plague and light can tell them that their flight doesn’t deserve it because they didn’t put the effort in, and that it’s really not that hard!

I mean, that’s just what comes with the turf if you go into a flight that’s not dominance-focused. (Speaking as someone in Arcane) 

Truth is, those flights work really hard compiling spreadsheets, running events and training/exalting dragons en-mass. It only makes sense they reap what they sow. 

I understand the frustration of not being able to win dominance sometimes, but if you really want that to change, you have to take initiative and if not lead the dom push, at least join the efforts. Either that or save up the gems to change flights.

Furvilla User Alert: Autumnx

Has been using cross-website “trading” to scam users. 

They have accounts on Goatlings under Alaskan, and presumingly Flight Rising under Sawyerxscourge (although whether or not this is their account hasn’t been confirmed).

Both myself (Purin on FV) and many other users (whom I won’t name without their permission) are still waiting on them to hold onto their end of the bargain, which it is obvious by now they don’t intend to. They are ignoring any and all messages asking for an update on the status of trades.

One of the victims of the scamming has since reported them, but they are still active and trying to scam more people despite backlash.

Stay safe everyone, don’t give your items to this person.

Please note that I do not encourage harassing this person, and the only reason I am leaving anyone on tumblr this information is to know not to deal with them.
