2020 is coming and Iām going through a huge change . My aura is changing .. š Iām going through a Spiritual awakening! My journey hasnāt been an easy one . Making a choice to pick a new purpose and new career path letting go of my job and embarking on my path of being a Mental Health Advocate . . Making this choice I know needed to happen . Iāve always known I had a greater purpose however letting go over financial security taking a change on something new and finding new ways of creating security had been quite the challenge. . However Iāve come this far , Iāve impacted so many peopleās lives so I donāt regret it . Now looking back at the incredible people Iāve met during this difficult year , Iām so grateful for them . The new projects that Iām embarking on . To finally starting my Non Profit Organization So I can really help others that love with Mental Illness has brought me so much joy and purpose .š . People always ask me , how are you so mentally strong living with mental illness? Well I have 2 choices , I can allow my mental illness to take over my life or I can work hard to live in harmony with it .š . My journey hasnāt always been easy , itās been a difficult road , however itās taught me a lot about myself . Iāve learnt how to be truly open , vulnerable and acceptance . My mental illness is a part of who I am , itās a part of my everyday. I use it to teach others what the face of mental illness can look like . . I want to be that change , create a meaningful impact , not just something empty . There are days I donāt post because I take time to cope with my mental health. I also never want to post something filled with emptiness and vanity . I know what my purpose and my journey is . Iāve come to truly understand how Iām going to really impact others in such a powerful and positive way . . Than you to everyone who always supports me . Being a mother can be the greatest joy and challenge in life . Iām a mother of 4 however this little boy has forever changed my life . My son has AOS , Apraxia of speech . He was misdiagnosed with autism and developmental delayed speech.š . Iāll tell you itās been quite the journey .. so many times I felt like I failed as another because I had never dealt with this before . Being judged by cruel mothers saying and asking disrespectful questions . . I felt horrible, lost & I didnāt know what to do . My son was 3 at the time and I was told he wasnāt speaking enough , he was behind . His educators kept pushing the issue that something was wrong . . Heās now 5 he just turned 5 this October. I know what he has and the challenges ahead . Iāve learnt how to communicate with him and teach others . Iāve help him navigate his frustrations and nurture his growth . Now when faced with the rude mothers I teach them compassion and explain whatās going on with him so they can teach their children. I donāt share much about my children however on this journey I will , I realize how important it is for other mothers that live with mental illness, that work , that clean and cook and do everything for their children. You moms might see yourself in me or your children in mine . So Iām choosing now to share myself as a woman and myself as a mother . . Iām grateful for this Journey Iām having with my mental health and with my son ho lives with apraxia. He teaches me how to be a better person and a mother . Iāve learnt how to grow and communicate In so many other ways than using my words. I canāt even explain over the course of my life how I was shamed for having mental health issues... These past few days have been such a test on my mental health, my spirit and my faith . To have gone through such a huge ordeal of having my mental health used against me , Not believing me and risking my life by stereotyping me has been such and emotional roller coaster š¢ . Donāt let anyone tell you who you are , donāt let anyone try to break you . Stand up for yourself and believe that you will get through this . .
