My Top 5 Soccer Coaches of 2021 so far.
The Pandemic has complicated the sports industry, seasons were postponed or temporarily paused, people are not authorize to attend to the games, some players are not currently playing because they caught the virus, the point is that is very hard to determined who are the top 5 coaches of 2021 so far, therefore the reasons and statistics that I am going to share are based on achievements from 2020 till now. Below are my Top 5 Coaches of 2021 so far:
5. Maximilliano Allegri: Currently not active but so far Maximilliano Allegri has won 16 Trophies in his entire career. Born in Livorno, Milan.Â
This coach played as a midfielder for multiple teams in Italy. Last team he managed was Juventus where he conquered the Serie A, Coppa Italia, Super Cup and made Juventus qualify for the UEFA champions league multiple years. Rumors are the Maximilliano will be the next coach of AS Roma.
4. Jose Mourinho: Aka “The Special One” or “The Only One”. Every soccer fan, player knows who this guy is.Â
Mou is a very spontaneous person, we learned this when he coached Real Madrid during the 2010 -2013 seasons. Apart from his personal issues and actions, Mou has won 25 trophies. His senior career started in Rio Ave back in 1980 and now he is the General Manager of Tottenham Hotspur. As a soccer fan, I expect to see Mou for a very long time because his actions, words and knowledge of the game makes him “The Special One”.
3. JĂĽrgen Klopp: Coach Klopp is the kind of guy who shows passion and professionalism in Soccer. He is the type of coach that will make any player successful, some players assures that Klopp’s energy is a key for their success in Liverpool.Â
Born in Stuttgart, Germany. Klopp officially managed his first team back in 2001,Mainz 05, then became the coach of Borussia Dortmund in 2008-20015, these were the years that soccer fans started to recognized him as a great coach and possibly a candidate to be the coach of the decade, after completing his cycle with Borussia Dortmund he moved to another great team, Liverpool. But his biggest success came on June 1st, 2019. When he took Liverpool to the final of the UEFA Champions League and won 2-0 against Tottenham Hotspur. A day to remember because it was Klopp’s 1st champions league and 1st trophy with Liverpool, also it was Liverpool’s sixth UEFA Champions league. Kloop is still managing Liverpool and will probably be there for a long time. Kloop has accumulated 9 Trophies throughout his career.
2. Josep “Pep” Guardiola: He is responsible of creating the famous “Tiki Taka”.
Pep has an extraordinary career, his professionalism is shown inside and outside the field, his intensity, mindset and experienced as a player are important factors in his Coaching career.
Pep started his soccer career as a Barcelona player in “La Masia” or the FC Barcelona academy, his position was defensive midfielder, eventually he worked his way up and made it to the 1st team in 1990, Pep became an important player of FC Barcelona and one of the best in his position during this time. Pep gave everything in the field, conquered multiple trophies with Barcelona, played with extraordinary players such as, Romario, Eusebio, Rivaldo, Figo and “El Fenomeno” Ronaldo Nazario. In 2007 Pep became the coach of FC Barcelona, this is time where he created the “Tiki Taka”, he managed players such us, Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, “The Goat” Messi and “The Magician” Ronaldinho. One of the fewest coaches to win the UEFA champions league, La Liga and Copa de el Rey in a single campaign. His second champions league trophy came in the 2011 final. Pep finished his cycle with Barcelona in 2012, then became coach of Bayer Munich where he had an amazing run reaching the semi-finals of the UEFa Champions and wining multiple local titles, and now he is the official coach of Manchester City, where he is trying to conquer the UEFA Champions league again for a 3rd time. Pep has accumulated 29 trophies in his career as a manager.
1. Diego Simeone: Named the coach of the decade by the International Federation of Football History and Statistic. Currently fighting to win La Liga 2021.Â
Simone or “El Cholo” is the perfect definition of consistency. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Became an active player in 1987 playing for Velez Sarfield, his career as player is fascinated, he had the honor to play with one of the best soccer players in history, recently passed away, Maradona. Simone’s career as a manager took off in 2006 with Racing Club, then managed multiple teams in Argentina until 2011 where he took the big step to manage Atletico Madrid.Â
Simone’s first trophy with Atletico came on 2011-12 Season, he won his first Europa League against Atletico Bilbao. the following year his team conquered The Copa del Rey in the derby against Real Madrid, unfortunately Simone has not won a UEFA Champions League trophy yet! but in my opinion he is very close to achieve this trophy, his style of coaching, and the persistency that he applies to his players are a key to accomplish this success. Simone has accumulated 7 trophies. Let’s hope that this year Simone wins La Liga and hopefully the next UEFA Champions League Tournament Simone wins it because he deserves it.
