For soccer players, it's not just about their performance on the field.
Equally vital is how much they unleash their desires with teammates on the training field and in the locker room, sharing the secret pleasures only athletes can savor.
This is immediately apparent when you see their bodies, honed to captivate.
Genres and warnings: soccer player Jongho, nerdy reader, injuries, fluff, a bit of blood mentioned, happy ending
The captain of your college soccer team sure knows how to shoot and score.
"Oh come on Y/N, just this once!"
"I already said I don't want to, leave it Dahyun."
Your best friend was someone you loved dearly, and if it wasn't for her, you'd be stuck a loner at college. However, Dahyun also knew how to push your buttons. Like right now.
"But it's just a soccer game! Please Y/N, you know Minho is playing."
There it was. She knew you wouldn't say no if she mentioned her crush. Minho was someone Dahyun liked since you came to this college almost three years ago. They were just now hitting it off, and she took every opportunity to be with him. She wanted to support her soon to be boyfriend, so you had to agree.
Reluctantly, almost as if it pained you, you nodded.
"Fine... But don't expect me to stay after it ends. You know I don't like big crowds."
Her face lit up and she threw her hands around you.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! You're the best person in the world!"
"I know, it bothers me sometimes."
The two of you continued down the hallway to your next class when you saw him.
Choi Jongho, star of the soccer team. He was a handsome boy, his muscles defined because of his choice in sport. People around your campus loved Jongho, and you noticed how down to earth he seemed. You kind of had a crush on him, but you'd never admit it out loud. Dahyun would have a field trip.
"Hello? Are you with me? Did you hear a word I said?"
You shook your head, taking your eyes off of the pretty man who was walking into his classroom.
"Yeah, yeah... Sorry, what were you saying?"
"I was saying that we have to go early, I want to sit as close to the field as possible. You know how their fangirls are."
"Do we really have to do that?"
Dahyun gasped. "What? Of course we do! How else is Minho gonna see I came to support him? We have to sit up front!"
.
.
"I hate it here."
"Don't be such a sour puss, look at our view!"
As promised, you came to the game with Dahyun. The team was still practicing, about fifteen minutes were left until the start. You were in the second row of bleachers behind the goal, and Dahyun was too excited for her own good.
"Yay..." You tried to cheer, but failed miserably.
Your eyes scanned the field and you noticed Jongho looking over at the bleachers. Maybe he was looking for his girlfriend?
There was a rumor going around that he was a ladies man, and with all of the attention he was getting right this moment, you kind of believed it. There was no official confirmation on the girlfriend part, but you had to guess it was true. There was no way a man like him was single.
His teammates called him over, and he reluctantly went over to them. It seemed like he didn't find what he was looking for.
Before long, the game started. Your team was good, almost too good for the opponent. Dahyun was screaming her lungs off, and you had to pull her down to sit every few minutes. Jongho kept scoring, along with his teammates, and the crowd went wild.
It wasn't until you locked eyes with him accidentally, that everything changed. He was stunned for a second, and in the next, a ball came straight at your face.
You could feel the sting on your nose and lips, the soccer ball hitting you so hard you yelped. You heard a whistle, and soon enough someone's hands were on your face.
"Hey, open your eyes! Come on Y/N!"
Who was that?
You managed to squint, the pain in your nose making it difficult to focus. Something warm was sliding down your chin, and you realised it was probably blood.
That didn't shock you as much as seeing Jongho in front of you. His hands were caressing your cheeks, eyes wide and raking over your injuries.
"Can you hear me? Nod if you can't speak."
You managed to move your head enough to nod, and Jongho shouted for the medic to hurry up.
"I-I'm fine. Am I bleeding? Oh God..." Your words jumbled together as the boy holding you wiped at your bloody nose.
"Shhh... It's gonna be okay, I'll get the blood off of you. Oh, here he is. Jin, what took you so long?"
"Sorry man, I was way over on the other end. Miss, can you stand up? We need to take you to the hospital, your nose might be broken."
You shook your head, already feeling delirious. You didn't want to go to a hospital, you were deadly afraid of needles and white coats.
"No, no, please! I can't!"
Arms wrapped around you, and you were picked up bridal style. You squinted again to focus on Jongho who was holding you.
"Come on, we need to go Y/N."
He started walking, the crowd parting to let him through. His coach yelled after him.
"Boy! Where are you going? This is an important game!"
Jongho only shouted back over his shoulder. "You'll manage. This is more important."
You didn't have the strength to ask him about anything he was saying, nor did you know how he was familiar with your name. All of the questions had to wait until your nose stopped gushing blood.
"I'm going to place you in the backseat along with Jin, he'll look after you until we get to the general hospital. Can you manage?"
Your eyes opened a bit more, and you could now clearly see his face, closer than you ever imagined.
"Y-Yeah, I can manage. Jongho, why don't you go back? The game isn't finished."
He smiled, waiting for Jin to open the car door.
"You know my name." Was his only reply.
There was no time to chat further because Jin took some gauze and started dabbing around your nose and mouth. The ride to the hospital was short, and the men helped you exit the car and hobble into the emergency room. Everything that occurred after you entered was a blur to you. The only thing you knew was that Jongho wouldn't leave your side. The doctor tried to reason with him, but to no avail. He changed in his car into a pair of sweatpants and regular shoes, his jersey still tightly pulled over his shoulders.
The doctor told you your nose wasn't broken, but it would bruise pretty bad. They managed to stop the bleeding, but they wanted you to stay for observation until the end of the day. You were now in your own room, sitting on a narrow bed. There was an IV connected to your arm, slowly dripping, and the TV player an ancient sitcom.
A knock came to the door before Jongho peaked his head inside.
"Can I come in?"
You nodded and he stepped inside. Jongho went over to your bed, sitting down near your feet.
"How are you feeling? Are you still in pain? Why did they give you an IV?"
"I'm feeling... Better. The painkillers help a lot. My blood sugar was too low, they wanted me on fluids. I guess the shock almost made me faint. I don't remember much to be honest. What happened?"
Jongho sighed, looking at his hands. You could see he was in a dilemma, but he turned to look at you as he answered.
"That was all my fault. I'm so sorry. When you looked at me I got so distracted I sent the ball flying right at you. I didn't expect you to sit so close to the goal, I didn't notice you in the back rows."
Wait. Was he looking for you?
"Jongho... How do you even know me?"
The boy in front of you flushed a deep shade of red.
"We have literature together, but we never speak much. I kind of... Have had a crush on you since first year. I know it's silly, but I just can't help it."
"You have a crush on me? How's that possible? Don't you have a girlfriend?" You asked, shocked to find out something you never imagined could happen.
"A girlfriend? No, I haven't had one in two years. Ever since I started crushing on you, nobody else came even close. I'm sorry, this is a bit too much. Forget what I said."
He stood up, ready to walk out, but you reacted quickly.
"Jongho! Wait! I have a crush on you too!"
The boy stopped, turning around with his eyes wide.
"You do?"
"Yes, I do. I know we have literature together, that's the only time I ever have the courage to communicate with you. I thought... You know how I'm kind of a nerd? I have one friend, and I'm not on your level."
"Hey now, don't say that." He walked over to you again, grabbing your hands from your lap and squeezing them
"You're really special, you know? I always admired how smart you are, how dedicated you seem. There is nothing hotter than a girl who knows what she wants in life. And Y/N, you look... Just wow."
You chuckled, squeezing his palms in return.
"I'm sure I look like a beauty queen right now. Have you seen my bruise? I look like I fought Mike Tyson and lost."
Both of you laughed, but you had to stop because of the pain. You winced, leaning back on the bed.
"Do you want me to call the doctor? Maybe you need more meds? You're in pain, let me get you -"
"Hey, hey, it's okay. It's gonna hurt for a bit, but it'll go away. Just stay here with me, okay? That's what I need."
He nodded, and you made room for him to sit next to you. Jongho scooted closer, and you were now shoulder to shoulder. It was kind of uncomfortable.
"Hey, how about we go like this?" He asked, lifting his arm and motioning for you to lean on him.
You blushed, but nodded and made yourself comfortable in his embrace. His arm pushed you as close to him as possible, and he leaned his head on yours.
"I'm feeling a bit sleepy..." You whispered.
"Go on, take a nap. I'll be right here when you wake up. We have a date to plan, you know?"
"A date?"
Jongho chucked at your sleepy voice. "Yes, a date. I'm not about to miss my chance with you. After all, not many people get to have such a beautiful girl in their arms."
"Oh stop it..." You swatted at him, but you didn't have the strength to do any damage. Jongho only chuckled, and you fell asleep shortly after that.
There was no telling how long you were going to be out for, but Jongho decided he wouldn't move an inch. He didn't want to disturb you.
There was a light knock on the door, a girl entering afterwards. He remembered her as someone close to you, and his he knew his teammate Minho liked her.
"Hey there, is she okay?"
Jongho nodded. "Asleep, a bit bruised up, but okay."
Dahyun chucked, placing a cup of coffee on the bedside table.
"Here, for you. If you're going to stay with her all night you'll need it."
Jongho was confused. "How did you know I was planning to do that?"
Your best friend smiled. "Darling, I've seen you watching her all over campus, it was pretty obvious you were obsessed. Don't worry, she likes you just as much. Take care of her for me, will you? Tell her I stopped by."
She waved at him, exiting before he could get a word in. Your friend was right, though. If she noticed it, other people probably did, too.
Jongho looked at the sleeping girl in his arms, a warm smile appearing on his face. He'd have to make up for the bruised nose, but he had all the time in the world now.
