Tumblr Goes Insane Again

Months ago,Tumblr announced its new policies and flagged over 100 of my pictures as possibly containing adult content. I deleted the few that violated the new guidelines and appealed the rest. From that point, things disintegrated into chaos since Tumblr was completely unprepared to do the required human reviews and their automated reviews were garbage. Things settled down. They began flagging things in a more consistent and predictable way and responded rationally and efficiently to appeals. Unfortunately, I was left with a few dozen items that remained forgotten (by Tumblr) in the under review stage. Ultimately, I simply deleted these items, reporting the ones I still wanted in my portfolio.

Now they have gone back to crazy. Today I find a huge number of my images flagged again. Almost all of these were flagged before and then reversed on appeal (sometimes many times). Now they are flagged again, and again they are being appealed. NOT ONE SINGLE ONE OF THE PICTURES I HAVE SEEN FLAGGED SO FAR INCLUDES NUDITY EXCEPT ONE THAT IS A NAKED REAR END WHICH HAS BEEN APPROVED ON APPEAL OVER AND OVER! One photo, containing absolutely no nudity and approved during prior appeals, has been condemned to the netherworld as nudity. 30+ others (so far) have been reversed. However, I’ve only gone through less than 100 of my over 1500 images so far and have no idea how many others have been flagged.

Get it together Tumblr. You have the right to be any kind of platform you wish. I only ask that you figure out what that is and then do it in a way that evidences a lot more intelligence than you have shown so far and don’t keep revisiting the things you have already reviewed and approved.

Maggie Dresden

After zoo days I wonder what other hildhood monsters she will face with mouse. Obviously they are real threats since mouse can see them too but besides facing a monster that makes adults talk boring politics and childhood bully monsters what other monsters will Maggie face?

I also hope that each new monster helps Maggie be more confident and brave making her more sociable and willing to open up. She is adorable and I want to see more of her adventures.

Zoo Day

I’m just going to say how much I loved this 3 part short story series Jim Butcher made.

First you can listen (or read if that’s your preference) to any of these 3 stories and it’s amazing alone. But the first is the day told from the story of Harry Dresden. He wants to spend his first daddy/daughter day showing Maggie that she is important to him. He notices some magic mouse is making to help make their day amazing but trouble finds them and he has to decide what to do.

Second story is the same day spent with Maggie, she sees monsters in the world that grown ups don’t see, while Harry is worried about his ‘monster’ ruining his day Maggie is scared too. But she has read the book and has Mouse with her.

Finally the last story is told by Mouse also all during the same day. He is adorable and loves with a love only dogs and other amazing pets have. He wants everything perfect for Harry and Maggie because he loves them and wants them to love each other. But while Harry and Maggie both have their problems Mouse sees there is a puppet master involved and is doing all he can to make sure both Harry and Maggie are alive and the day is not ruined.

This sets up a new player in the game, whose side is he on I can not tell yet but we have a few options including someone new. But it also sets up the possibilities of Maggie Dresden facing monsters that are to small for adults to notice but are of real danger to kids.

I can’t wait to see where Butcher takes the story that Maggie has introduced to us.
