((What if I made a side blog called "Ask Fashion Police Red" so I could have Red answer people's fashion problems...........................................))

"S'not abuse when the person deserves it. Like you do. Electronic appliances do people no harm, ok."

"My idiot mun really has no excuse anymore because she finished midterms yesterday."
"And if there's any reason she still hasn't proclaimed her grand return it's because some game is coming out next week and she figures that's more important that toying with my emotions and making me do stuff with other people, namely you people."
"So there, that's news."
"But according to her, I'm putting it too harshly, so she apologizes and says that if anyone wants to start fresh with me go ahead and message the toaster-- I mean ask box."
"Or if you haven't given up on me and want to continue wherever the fuck we left off, also message the toaster."
"I mean, ask box."

((Incoming formal apology: so, I've been incredibly with school and midterms and other crazy stuff. I'm really sorry about leaving all of you in the dust, but hopefully I'll be back next week or by the end of the month if shit calms down-- which it really might not because I'll probably be dedicating what little free time I have to playing video games-- That being said, I'll be inactive rp-wise for a-yet-undetermined-amount-of-time. Might still post stupid headcanons or fanart though, in the meanwhile. Love you all!))

Unfair. So fucking unfair. This Chilton was just completely unfair. “Do I even dare ask what you did? To… the other me, I mean.”
Michael lets out a sigh at Red’s inquiry about his own counterpart’s fate. It was not something he liked to dwell on, and it took a great deal of restraint not to wince at the memory. “It is quite the long story and…I am not sure how much of my actions coincide with my counterpart’s in this world. But…I suppose thou has a right to know.” He glances to the side, hesitant about talking about the incident. But since he doubted his enemy could hate him any less anyway, he gave in. “…I was under Lord Kane’s service in the kingdom of Deluxia. He had ordered me to burn down a small, abandoned fishing village on the outskirts of the kingdom. He said it would be clearing the way to built proper docks for Deluxia or something of the sort.” Thinking back on it, the mad lord’s request seemed quite odd to him now. Why burn perfectly usable material for new buildings? He had been too blinded by loyalty to Lord Kane and the kingdom to even think of questioning it. “I went there during the night with some other soldiers. I shifted to my dragon form, and…I started to burn the area. People came rushing out every which way, screaming and I just…I do not remember much of what I did then. I do remember trying to rush people to safety, but everyone was scattered all over the area.” He bit his lip, his eyes shifting gold in the slight panic and pain the memory brought him. His breathing came out a little heavier, but it was not that noticeable. “So many people were lost. I did not see the soldiers that had come with me…but I am quite sure that I saw thine counterpart in the shallow waters nearby. It was too smoky to make out anything in the way of features. But I could smell the hate he gave off. I could not locate him afterwards.” Covering his face with a hand, Michael kept on speaking. It was as if someone had turned a valve on his mouth, letting the memory of that night pour out. “I knew it was him by that same hate he gave off when he appeared almost a year later.”
It should've hurt. It should've made him angry. It should've sent him over the edge with absolute fury. If anything, all of this made this Chilton worse than any other Chilton he knew. His hate had been properly justified. His vendetta acknowledged-- maybe even accepted. It was perfect. It was literally everything Red wanted from him, whether he admitted it or not.
His mind blanked from complete inability to process anything.
Red looked up at the knight suddenly feeling both incredibly sheepish and awkward. Christ, what the fuck was he supposed to say now?
He turned to the side, giving Chilton a light punch to the chest. Well, it wasn't a punch so much as he just stuck his fist there and left it hanging for a bit. He stared in the distance, refusing to look the knight in the eye-- even though he had a helmet on and there was no way Chilton could see his expression.
But he felt stupid. So.
"Thanks for telling me... I, uh, appreciate it." Red cleared his throat. "If it's any comfort, you probably won't be seeing any hostility from me."
He exhaled. "Think of it as like... a non-aggression pact... or something. But I just... I can't hate you. At least not hate you the way I hate other Mikes."
Girl of Curiosity
Red nodded quietly as she spoke, because it was much easier to listen than to actually reply. He’d already finished his food and was leaning back on the seat, relaxed. He found himself wondering what it’d be like to have a normal life. Average. Like what would he be doing right now if he weren’t chasing after Chilton? Heh. It was impossible to imagine. He couldn’t even think. If Mike never ruined his life… What if? He brushed the thought away, refusing to think of such foolish fantasies. It was pointless to… It’d bring him no calm, no reprieve— just more worthless sentiment and broken hope.
But Red looked at the girl and, for just a moment, he envied her. Only for a moment.
“There’s nothing to tell,” Red mumbled at her frown. “Nothing I’m willing to share, at least. No offense.”
Missy stared at Red for a while, watching him as she wondered what had made him become so distant with the world, so distant with people. He was interesting and a mystery. She pulled some money from her pocket, “I’ll pay for half,” She told him with a smile and drank more of her soda, “well, I hope one day I can be a little closer to you.” She told him honestly, watching him still. “Well, I guess I’ve bothered you enough,” She finished off her soda, “is this where we part?” She asked, her tone now a bit sad and lonely but she tried to smile, although, her eyes showed her emotion. She honestly wasn’t sure what else it was about Red that made her want to spend more time with him.
She actually didn’t have anyone to talk to, her brothers weren’t, well, the talking types. They played their video games and went out to chill with their friends. Even when she was home they were asleep or gone most of the time so she was always alone, in a sense.
Why did girls have to do that? It was so unfair of them.
Then again, was he supposed to care that he seemed to be hurting her feelings? He figured he was supposed to care, but at the same time he didn't want to. Caring involved so many things he didn't have the luxury to afford right now. It meant vulnerability and pain and a certain amount of commitment. It was just... too much. It was too much for someone like him, who had vowed his whole life on getting rid of Chilton. And yet this girl was treating him like a completely normal human being. It was odd. And Red couldn't decide if it was unwarranted or not. What had he done to make this girl come up to him anyway? If anything, everything about his attitude pushed people away. That was kind of the point. He was supposed to be a lone wolf.
"Damnit, do you have to look so sad?" He shrugged, crossing his arms and glancing away from her. The half of his helmet was still open and a faint blush reddened his cheeks.
Red sighed. "I'll pay for all of it. Don't worry and... Well, I guess it wasn't bad to have company for a while."
“Vicious or not, it’d probably be better, don’t you think?” He almost grinned under the helmet. “Better to lose someone completely than to live with the hope that they’ll change back, no?”
Red circled around the room slowly. “Hating me is probably easier than this.”
For all the venomous words, she doesn’t seem to flinch. As if she’s thought on this before. As if she’s never quite gotten the thought out of her mind. Closing her eyes, she shakes her head slightly, laughing. It’s bitter and dull, as if she really doesn’t find any humor in it, but she’ll indulge him anyway. Opening her eyes once more to focus on him, her lips are drawn into a long, thin lipped smile. It’s forced and wrong, but she doesn’t care.
“I think I prefer this over killing you. Despite our differences…” Pausing, she tries to think of the right way to word it, but can’t. She shrugs, hopeless look hidden within her topaz orbs. She does flash him a smile, small and diluted under the strain of her situation, but she means it. Red saved her, and while she may show hostility to the male, she cares more than she lets on.
“Plus, it’s interesting to see how worked up he get’s when I go out for a while.”
Red snickered a little at that. It was one of those things that sounded funnier because he knew the other Red wasn't him. Hard to be offended when it wasn't really you they were talking about and whatever.
"I'll bet," He replied simply. "So, I'm guessing other me doesn't let you out, huh? Kind of dumb if he thinks you'd actually listen."
If anything, Red thought it was strange his counterpart could be so protective. Grouding someone never really worked and he knew that better than anyone. He valued his freedom to do whatever he wanted more than anything else after all. Was the Red of this world different somehow? He couldn't even imagine that-- a version of him giving Julie 'orders'. It was kind of a joke.

Red twitched at Chilton’s name.
Ah, of course. So she was from that world then. Great. “Yeah well, see. That’s going to be a bit of a problem, kiddo.”
He crossed his arms, wondering if he could put this any more softly. Then, he realized that he really didn’t care. Red explained to the girl straight. “I want to kill Mike Chilton, y’hear? So taking you to the Burner HQ? Out of the question. You’re going to have to find your own way over there or something because I’m not helping.”
And it was only then that the latter part of the kid’s sentence hit him. “Wait, fathers? Whose kid are you supposed to be?”
The little brunette’s happiness shattered at the man’s words. Kill him?? Why!? What did her opsola’s other self do to deserve such hatre-!
Oh.
Oh no.
Fear crept into Tanis’s eyes as she realized who this man was supposed to be. The black and red armor. She should have known. She had yet to see his other self in her world, but Michael had warned her of him. Told her to stay away from him at all costs. This was not her world…but could this version of him use magic?? If so, Tanis was as good as dead.
“The…the Red Knight.” She whispered, backing away as slowly as she dared. He did not seem to want to attack her…even if she had mentioned his enemy’s name. She should answer his question regardless. If she was rude again, maybe he would not be so merciful.
“I…my-! My fathers…they…um, they found me. They are Ferrus Igniss and…and Michael Chilton.” Tanis could continue to cower in front of this man…but her pride as Michael’s daughter would not allow it. No matter how scared she was. “B-but if thou wishes to kill my opsola’s other self, then I do not want nor need thy help after all! I c…I can find where he is by myself!”
Chilton's kid.
She was Chilton's kid? How was she Chilton's kid? Holy Hell. Red blinked, absolutely mortified. But then, he wanted to laugh too. Haha, come on. What kind of shitty turn of events was this anyway? Chilton's kid presenting herself to him, Chilton's worst enemy. Hilarious. Oh god. Who thought this shit up? God must be breaking a few ribs up there.
"Yeah well, lucky for you." Red relaxed. "I don't have anything against your Chilton in particular."
He looked at the tiny girl, at how she was forcing to act brave and-- he had to admit-- it was quite endearing. Red wasn't really sure why he was grinning anymore. Was it because this whole situation was stupid? Or was it because this kind thought she could intimidating?
"Also, you wouldn't have come up to me if you could find your way on your own. But well, by all means, if you think you can find your own way..." Red bowed, out of pure sarcasm. "... Go ahead."
She did interrupt him while he was in the middle of trying to rest. Though it would be interesting to entertain the girl a while longer, he wasn't going to force himself to do so if she was going to scurry on out of there. So, Red sat back down, legs crossed Indian style.
“Stop it. You don’t have to comfort me or whatever it is you’re trying to do,” Red spoke softly, like he’d never done before. “It’s kind of counter-productive to my ego if you try.”
Acting violently and telling her bluntly to get the fuck out didn’t seem to work, so Red figured his only option was honesty. Or at least, this was as honest as he could get without feeling like a total moron.
When he grabs her wrists she stops immediately. She just doesn’t understand what to do in this situation. It should be simpler. Life should be simpler. Head rubs don’t magically make things better. Even back when Chuck was younger. They would simply appease her. Once she woke up again it was time to move onto something new, even if Chuck didn’t like it. She just wished there was someway to… She bit on her lower lip. Why did she want to help the young man? Really? Because he hadn’t really given her any reasons to want to. But that wasn’t a reason to not help. People could be utterly terrible, but that didn’t mean you shouldn’t assist them when they needed something. Even back when Chuck had met Texas, she had found the short girl difficult to deal with. But eventually she actually got to know her and she really liked her. Even the good natured ribbing was tolerable. And when it wasn’t aimed at her it could even be funny.
She rubbed her free hand across her face, just trying to collect her thought enough to come up with another idea.
“Look, I’m sorry. I don’t mean to bother you so much. I’m just confused and I..” She was about to talk about how she was alone here and she was lonely and basically barf her feelings all over the guy.
But he didn’t deserve that. “It’s been really impolite of me to keep this up. You’ve clearly wanted me to go and I’ve deliberately ignore that. So if you want me to leave, I understand that now. I’ll go.”
Red swallowed his pride. Damnit. She was forcing his hand here and he really didn't want to say it. He didn't want to admit it or anything. But what was he supposed to do? If he didn't say anything, if he didn't do anything, she was going to go. Ugh, what then? What now?
"Wait," He croaked. "Just wait a minute."
He squeezed her wrist, but it wasn't on purpose. He didn't mean to. He just didn't want her to go just yet. But it was just so hard to say. So hard to admit. He was supposed to be a lone wolf-- like he cared if he was alone and broken, that was the point. He was supposed to have gotten over petty emotions like this a long time ago. Could Red let himself be human for once? And just admit it? Did he care if it was going to bite him in the ass later?
Red looked at Chuck again. She wouldn't... laugh at him, would she?
"I... I don't want you to go just yet. You're not bothering me. Not really, at least." He mumbled. "And you have.. nowhere to go either so... I..."
Also, I just realized every single Motorcity fic I’ve done involves the Duke.
