(I like to pretend my Raoul is partly ALW-based and then I realise he's so Leroux it hurts.)
Eyeing the Frenchman curiously, Sibyl nodded. "Yes, sir."
"Oh, sir, you look rather pale, as if you'd seen a ghost! You must sit!" The young girl cried out as she ran forward to help him. "Can I get you some water, sir?"
A ghost! Raoul started, his eyes darting around wildly, before his mind caught up with the rest of the sentence. No, it couldn't be him, he didn't ever leave the Opera, did he? And he certainly didn't come to England. Of course not. What a fool he was being.
"No, no, I am quite all right," Raoul said feebly, then attempted to gather his wits about him. "No, please don't trouble yourself, Mademoiselle," he said a tad more firmly. "I beg your pardon for disturbing you in the first place. I'll just... be leaving now."

Sibyl picked up right away the stranger’s accent. He was not from England, she knew. Part of her wanted to say that he was French, and the word ‘Rue’ only further supported her thought. Sibyl was not much educated formally, but she knew enough to get by.
"I do believe you might be lost, sir." Sibyl answered, hiding her face shyly behind her hair. "You’re in London, sir."
London? How in the world... London? To be sure, he had gotten lost before, but never on this sort of scale. How on Earth had he crossed la Manche without noticing?
"Pardon?" he asked incredulously. "London? As in, London in England?"
*a little POed* These notes stopped being amusing a long time ago.
They most certainly have, I am currently swamped in demands at this moment.
Ah. I take it that Monsieur Firmin sent me this one, then? *pulls it out of his pocket with a snap*

There was something behind him. The hair on the back of Raoul's neck was prickling and he could tell that there was someone behind him. It couldn't be... It couldn't be him. Of course not. He was just jumping at shadows.
Raoul whirled around. "You!"
There was no one there, not that he could see. Well, perhaps he was acting foolish after all.

Reblog this if you roleplay a character from a play(/musical).
I need to follow you.

"Bonjour, madame," Raoul said courteously, lifting his hat to the stranger, who was staring at a building across the street. She was looking at the building so carefully she almost seemed to be inspecting it to Raoul's eyes, but that, of course, was ridiculous. "I beg your pardon for asking, but are you lost?"

(wow. Okay. So. I lost the password and email for this account a long time ago, but I recently found them! And now I'm back. It's nice to be back!)
Gah. I have to go in a few minutes, and I'm aware I haven't answered everybody. Here's a count of what I'm going to work on when I get back:

If anybody wants to post a starter for Raoul, go for it! Just tag it as thereisnophantomoftheopera. Au revoir!

He couldn't help half a sigh as he stepped into the room, only to find it occupied by the Opéra Populaire's vexatious leading lady: Carlotta Giudicelli. He afforded her a cold but polite nod as he searched the room to see if Messieurs Firmin and André were present. To his dismay, they were not. The business he had for them would have to wait another day.

"Christine?" He knocked on the door of her dressing room, then, after trying the handle, pushed the door open. "I hope I am not interrupting anything."

thereisnophantomoftheopera:
"There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember. And there’s pansies, that’s for thoughts. There’s fennel for you, and columbines. There’s rue for you, and here’s some for me, we may call it herb o’ grace on Sundays. Oh, you must wear your rue with a difference. There’s a daisy. I would give you some violets, but they all withered when my father died. They say he made a good end…"
"Oh, sir! Forgive me. I didn’t see you there. Did you need something?"
It was exceptionally foolish of him to wander into the wrong theatre, for it really was something he should have noticed immediately. But here he was, and he had interrupted a young vedette aspirant in the middle of her performance.
"I beg your pardon," he said, meaning to sound crisp but not quite achieving the effect. He cleared his throat and forged ahead. "I did not mean to disturb you. I just seem to be... a little lost. Could you perhaps direct me to the Rue Auber?"
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
An obvious answer sprang first to the mind of the young Vicomte, but he swallowed it down with barely the edge of a blush. Such an answer would not do, no matter how true it was. “I do enjoy going to the opera, Monsieur Anonyme." He gathered up his gloves with a dismissive air before he betrayed himself.
I think a masterlist of Phantom RPers would be good! Like or reblog and I’ll make sure you get on it.
