Teenage!König x Teenage!Reader
Okay, here is the long awaited next part of Schoolyard Crush! I wanted to let everyone know that Iâm gonna age up the characters a bit. Iâm from America, and the legal age to get a drivers license is 16. I didnât realize in European countries that the legal age to have a license is 17, so reader will be 16, while our baby König is 17. Königâs name is Klaus in this series, so yeah. Hope you all enjoy (:
Btw, there will be no smut in this series. I may like..elude to it in later chapters, but there will be no smutty parts in this series. Writing smut about teenagers is icky, and Iâm not gonna be icky, so yeah.
Warnings: language, awful German (google translate sucks, but I have no other way to translate..so yeah. Bare with me), bullying, fluff, a little violence (nothing major)
The following days were uneventful, other than the hour long (sometimes two) phone calls that happened between you and Klaus. He was an interesting person, having dreams to go into the military and hopefully become a sniper. He was a gun junkie, telling you how he had to show you his gun collection one day, sounding like a giddy child, who couldnât wait to show his new friend their Lego set. You had laughed, asking him how he had even gotten his hands on a gun, let alone a whole collection of them. He had told you how his father had been in the service, and he left all his guns to him, his only son, after he passed. You also learned during that conversation that Klaus lived with his grandmother, or Oma, as he called her. She was a kind lady, just hadnât expected a girl speaking broken German to call asking for her grandson, like you had days prior. She had apologized over the phone, picking up the landline and interrupting Klaus mid sentence, saying how she didnât mean to offend you, her accent thick and heavy, as she spoke to you in the best English she could.
Klaus had been embarrassed; you could tell by how he politely, but pleadingly, asked her to hang up the landline, speaking in rushed German to the woman. The whole situation had entertained you, not freaked you out, much to Klausâs relief. Monday morning rolled around, and you climbed out of bed, showering, drying and styling your hair, and spent a whole thirty minutes trying to figure out what to wear. Finally, you settled on a pair of ripped jeans, a band tee, and your converse. You had wanted to dress up nicely, but thought it would be too obvious. So, casual/grunge is how you went.
Your mom had dropped you off at school, telling you she and your dad would be gone once you got home. You walked into school, eyes immediately following your every move, and it felt like you were being studied under a microscope from your peers. You saw Annika, Georg, and Anton standing near their lockers. You rolled your eyes, opening your own locker, and pulled out your books for your first class. You heard footsteps approaching, and turned to see Klaus making his way down the hallway. You smiled, calling his name, watching as he shyly made his way to your locker, stopping to lean beside you, and peer down at you.
You laughed softly, shutting your locker, and leaning against it, copying his stance. âWhat, you werenât gonna say hi?â you teased, looking up at him.
Klaus chuckled lightly, looking down at his shoes, replying back softly, âSorry, I usually just run off to class in the mornings.â
âItâs fine. I prefer to wait until the last minute to go, but, I guess being early never hurts.â
Klaus shrugged, both of you laughing lightly at one another. âHow has your morning been? Finish that assignment you were worrying over?â he asked you teasingly, with an eyebrow raised.
You sighed, nodding your head, and pouting. âYes, finally. Probably fucked it up, but whatever. At least itâs done.â
Klaus smiled at your words, glancing back over his shoulder, as Georg called out that stupid nickname they had given him. He rolled his eyes, standing up straight, giving you a small, apologetic smile. âThatâs my cue. Iâll see you later, HĂ€schen.â he said, pushing off the locker he had been leaned against, and turned to walk to class.
âKlaus,â you called, gripping your book to your chest tightly, as he peered over his shoulder at you. âsave me a seat at lunch, will you?â
Klaus smiled shyly and nodded, before turning back, and headed down the hall. You watched him walk away a moment, before your eyes shifted over to Annika and her friends. Georg and Anton wore teasing looks, mumbling something to one another, as they looked you over. Annika on the other hand, just looked at you with an unreadable expression. You flipped them off, pushing off your locker, and headed to your first class.
Lunch couldnât have taken any longer to arrive. You sighed in relief when the bell rang, and stood from your seat, gathering your things into your bag, and exited the classroom. You made your way to the cafeteria, finding Klaus already sat at a table. You bit your lip, making your way over, and sat your bag down on the table. He looked up from his notebook, giving you small smile, before he began doodling on the paper once more. You sat down, peering over, seeing him drawing what looked like to be some kind of flower. It wasnât super detailed, but you could see from how tight the lines were, that if he really tried, it could be a masterpiece. âYou draw?â you asked, leaning your head against your hand, as you propped up on the table.
Klaus shrugged, setting the pen down, and leaned back in his seat. âI guess. I mostly just doodle, since it gives me something to concentrate on. I canât sit still, so, itâs just gives me something to do.â
You nodded, peering over at the drawing, before shyly asking, âDo you care if I look?â
He shook his head, sliding the notebook over to you. He watched you nervously, as you studied the drawing, your lip pulled between your teeth, as your eyes scanned the doodle. âDo you have anymore doodles?â you asked, glancing up at him.
He chuckled nervously, but nodded, reaching out his long arm, and flipped the page. âI, uhh, try to use that notebook for notes. I get bored and distracted so, thereâs little drawings scattered throughout it.â
âCan I look, if you donât care?â you asked, looking down at the different little drawings that were scattered amidst the messy notes he had scribbled onto the page.
âGo ahead, I donât mind.â he said, reaching and grabbing a bottle of water sat in front of him, opening the lid, and taking a small sip.
You flipped through the notebook, smiling at the small drawings found on each page. They were random things, some being objects he had noticed in the classroom he was in, some being animals he had just thought to draw. One caught your eye, and you glanced slyly up at him, a small, teasing smile forming on your lips. Klaus raised his eyebrow, leaning forward, to see what had peeked your interest. You slid the notebook back a little, switching arms, so your arm hid the notebook from view.
Klaus narrowed his eyes, copying your position, propping his chin on his propped hand. âWhy are you looking at me like that? Because Iâm serious, youâre about to send me into full blown hysterics.â
You laughed a little, moving your arm, and leaned back into your seat. âHĂ€schen?â you asked, letting him see the small drawing of a rabbit, that he had conveniently labeled under the drawing.
You laughed lightly, as a blush covered his face. You could tell he was serious about the hysterics, and seemed like he was trying not to bust out into a full blown anxiety attack. âKlaus, Iâm just playing with you. Iâd been wondering what HĂ€schen meant, I meant to ask you.â
He hid his mouth with his fingers, reaching out, and gently sliding the notebook back to him. âI, umm, I can call you by your name ifââ
âI mean, I didnât say you couldnât call me that. I just didnât know what it meant.â you interrupted, reaching into your bag, and pulling out a pretzel from the ziplock bag you had packed that morning. âHonestly, itâs kinda cute.â you said, popping the pretzel in your mouth, and turning to look at him.
Klaus didnât know what to say. You were flirting with him, werenât you? Or was he just reading the entire thing wrong? You wanted him to call you HĂ€schen, even thought it was cute. If he wasnât already sitting down, his knees for sure wouldâve given out. He wasnât too naive to admit to himself that he liked you. He never thought there was a possibly you could like him back, but surely, you didnât flirt with just anyone? He had never seen you flirt with Anton, or any other guy you had spoken too. Finally gathering his words, he nodded, mumbling back, âOkay, HĂ€schen.â, in a weak attempt to flirt back.
You seemed satisfied with that, biting your lip, and smiling, the slightest flush of your cheeks telling Klaus you had liked him calling you that. Lunch went great, the two of you laughing and conversing, mostly you, as Klaus listened to whatever it was you had to say. Finally, the bell rang, and the two of you were standing, dreading going to your next classes. You slung your bag over your shoulder, turning to look up at Klaus, who had his own bag in his hand. âDo you have a free class today?â he asked, walking beside you, as you both left the cafeteria.
âYeah, my fifth class. I usually spent it with Annika, but Iâll probably just head to the library.â you answered, glancing up at him, as he held the cafeteria door open for you to walk through.
âMeet me at the pavilion, if you want, that is. I can help you with that literature assignment, that you in fact did not finish like you said.â he said teasingly, with his eyebrow raised.
You laughed, nodding. âAlright. Iâll meet you there.â
Klaus nodded, leaving you at your locker, as he made his way to to his next class. Your classes droned on and on, before finally, you were walking to the pavilion. You stopped in your tracks, barely seeing the top of Klausâs head, standing in the middle of a large crowd that formed in the middle of the pavilion. Your eyebrows furrowed, as you heard Georg say something in German, you assumed to Klaus. You pushed through the crowd, stopping to watch as Klaus raised his eyebrow at whatever Georg had said. He was leaning against a pillar of the pavilion, his arms crossed, as he stared at Georg. You didnât understand what it was that was being said, but from the reactions from the crowd of students watching, it wasnât good things.
Klaus seemed unbothered, not replying to anything Georg said, and only showing emotion once the guy stepped closer to him. Klaus glanced in your direction, seeing you standing there, his gaze burning into you as if he was silently asking you what he needed to do. He was tense, like he was ready to launch himself, all 6â10 of himself, at Georg. He was holding back though. You stepped forward, stopping to stand beside him, and placed a hand on one of his crossed arms. âKlaus, come on.â you said gently, looking up at him, your heart beginning to beat faster as he stood unmoved, his gaze now locked onto Georg.
âOh, hier kommt die Freundin von König Klaus, um den Tag zu retten.â Georg taunted. You didnât know what he said, but you could tell it was about you. (Oh, here comes King Klaus's girlfriend to save the day.)
Klaus seemed to find amusement in Georgâs words, chuckling dryly, as he let his arms fall from his chest. You kept your hand wrapped around his forearm, scared if you let go, he would lose it and attack Georg. Georg only smirked at Klausâs chuckle, his eyes meeting yours, as he stated your name and asked, âSo youâre fucking König Klaus? You leave our group, and decide to be his whore?â
You opened your mouth to reply, but stopped when Klaus pushed off the pillar, standing to his full height, and moved to stand inches away from Georg. He peered down at him, his 6â10 frame towering over Georg, who was still a good 6â4. âWatch your mouth, Georg.â he warned him, his usual nervous tone now replaced with a much deeper, threatening one.
You could see a flicker of fear in Georgâs eyes, but when Anton shoved his shoulder, urging him to say something back, Georg straightened up, peering up at Klaus. âOr what? Does König Klaus have a crush on the foreign bitch?â
âKlaus, donâtââ you rushed out, stopping to watch as Klaus pulled his hand back, his fingers held tightly into a fist, and punched Georg harshly in the mouth.
Georg wasnât expecting it, falling back, stunned that he had actually been hit. Anton backed up, his eyes wide, Klausâs looming figure looking down at Georg with such hatred, rendering him speechless. Annika, who you hadnât noticed at first, rushed forward, shoving Georg back, and yelling at him in German. Klaus still hadnât said anything back, he just stood ready, in case Georg or Anton decided they wanted to retaliate.
Georg made no move to physically retaliate, but that didnât keep his now bloodied mouth from running. Annika was pushing him back, telling him to walk away, as he spat something out angrily to Klaus. Klaus replied back heatedly, "Halte ihren Namen aus deinem verdammten Namen heraus." (Keep her name out your fucking mouth.)
Annika shot you a pleading look, and you sighed, you and Annika practically pressed back to back, as you moved to stand in front of Klaus, your hands going to his chest, as you tried to push him back. âKlaus, seriously, come on. You got him, letâs just go. Please?â you pleaded, as you heard Annika doing the same to Georg.
Finally, Klaus looked down, meeting your eyes. He softly grabbed one of your hands, turning to grab both of your bags, and began leading you out the pavilion. You jogged a little to keep up with him, his long legs making it hard to keep up with his strides. The two of you ended up in the parking lot, Klaus pulling out a set of keys, and unlocking a grey 2002 Ford Explorer. He tossed both your bags in the back, along with his sweatshirt after he had tugged off, slammed the door, and turned to lean against it. He ran his hands through his ginger hair, sighing in frustration. You noticed then how built he was, as he lifted his arms, seeing the bit of muscle that flexed with his movements. He wasnât ripped, but you could tell he could lift you up without much trouble if he wanted. Your eyes traveled to his hands, after he had let them drop, seeing his knuckles on the hand he had hit Georg with, were beginning to bruise. You cursed, stepping forward, taking his large hand in your much smaller ones, studying the bruising. âYou didnât have to do that, you know?â you mumbled, not sure what else to say.
You looked up at him, seeing he was staring down at you, his gaze unreadable. He swallowed hard, nodding. âYeah, I know.â he quietly replied back.
You sighed, pressing a small kiss to his knuckles, before stepping into his arms, and laying your head on his chest. Your hands rested on his waist, in a sort of half hug, since you couldnât wrap them around him due to the SUV he was leaned against. You felt him tense, and at first, you thought you had overstepped a boundary with him. That anxiety went away though, as you felt him timidly wrap his arms around your back, gently pulling you closer.
You closed your eyes, your voice quiet, as you asked, âWhat did you tell him, before me and Annika got between the two of you?â
Klaus didnât answer for a moment, before his fingers gently clasped your chin, lifting your head up to look at him. âI told him to keep your name out of his mouth.â he answered, swallowing nervously, as he waited for your reply.
You gave him a small, thankful smile, before leaning your head back against his chest, feeling his hand fall to rest back around your back. âThank you.â you said, a smile in your tone.
Klaus let himself smile too, bending down, to rest his chin on the top of your head gently. âAnytime, HĂ€schen.â
