Marriage – a lifelong covenant relationship not just with your spouse but also with God which display's covenant-keeping love between Christ and his church

"Therefore, they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Matthew 19:6

I have fully embraced this verse when this was declared on my wedding day and I fully understand the weight of saying “Yes” to the man God set apart for me and saying “Yes” to God on that day. A revelation that has dawned on me that marriage is not something fulfilled by our own doing, resources, and strength – but it’s God’s doing.

Preparing for my wedding as a bride and with my groom before was totally a different story from becoming a first-time wedding planner/coordinator. I praise God for letting me see and experience the nitty-gritty details behind a beautiful wedding during the planning stage of someone else’s wedding preparation. A first-time wedding planner in a whole different level of communication and support to two of the most important people on a wedding – “the bride and the groom”. It was a privilege and honor to know the couple in a deeper level and witnessed how collaboration and unity magnifies from the couple amidst pressure in a specific period of time. I could testify that it was all God’s grace – from planning stage to the wedding day itself.

To the bride and the groom – it was a fun journey. I’ve witnessed how you set aside your own plans and let God go ahead of your plans and established it without getting paralyzed while waiting for the appointed time. You both fully surrendered to the will of God and valued the preparation not just for the wedding day itself but your union after that day. You both are a blessing to many.

Look at each other every single day, the way you’ve looked at each other from your first wedding look.

Your future children and your children’s children will be blessed through your obedience and leadership.

To the two gentle loving people I've ever known, enjoy the beautiful journey of a marriage covenant with God. 💯

Happy Birthday my love.

This is the first time that I really didn’t do anything for your birthday, but this is one of the memorable birthdays you will ever have. Not because of sweet messages and surprises but because you will celebrate life amidst the pandemic and man! this doesn’t happen always..

Thank you, because you always remind me and encourage me to look at the pandemic in a different perspective. You would always tell me that this will make us a better person and what’s ahead of us is something to look forward to.

I’m grateful to God for leading us both to each other. We’re not perfect and our relationship is not perfect but I will always remember how you would always remind me and the people around us how Jesus love His church,and how you would remind me how God asked Hosea to pursue his wife no matter what. And that it applies not just in our relationship but also to the people God has entrusted in our lives.

You are a good son and a brother, a good uncle and amazing friend, a faithful kuya to your disciples and most of all – you are awesome because I see Jesus in you. Your heart towards your disciples and the people around you is something I admire about you. You understand the value of honoring God above all else – and that’s one of the characteristics exuding from your heart.. You are trustworthy and faithful.

One fact that people may not know about you that I will share is that, you have made it clear to my face that I can never be your number one in your life, because God is. And I am happy for that, it goes the same to me haha the throne doesn’t belong to either one of us.

Continue to magnify Jesus Christ in your life, from the inside out.

God really has given us Ephesians 3:20

Serve with excellence as unto the Lord. Keep going with an obedient heart and magnify Jesus.

Lord, let me express my gratitude for you in this season of waiting, for in Your grace and wisdom you have led me to the one with whom I will share my life with. (oops this part is not for you 😊😂🤣)

How are you today?

How are you?

How are you doing today? No, I mean, how are you really doing? When was the last time someone asked you this question? When was the last time you were vulnerable enough to respond? You see, we can fool ourselves into thinking we are fine when in reality, there is something deep inside of us tugging at our soul. We may not know what that something is, but we know there is a God who does. So no matter how you’re truly doing, just know that you are not alone. The Creator of the universe is sitting beside you letting you know that you can be brutally honest about your feelings. There is nothing you can say or do that will surprise Him. He is the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end. He is the overseer of all things, but most importantly, He is the overseer of your heart. Whether it’s in pieces or hanging on by a thread, The Lord of Lords can mend it back together. You don’t need to be afraid of trusting God. But maybe in your past, trust has been broken. It is another empty promise collecting dust on the shelf. But I encourage you to dust it off and give it another try. Place it in God’s hands and see what happens. You might not feel at ease right way, but He is faithful.

Eventually you will see His goodness. Eventually you will see the anger and the bitterness wash away. Eventually you will experience peace.

An open letter for the armour bearer

“WHY IS SHE RUDE?” “SHE’S SO MEAN”.

It wasn’t a good and welcoming first impression you got from me during youth camp eyyy?

But I ended up telling myself “What am I walking into this time Lord? Where can I find a flower so I can give it to your daughter.. (KULBAAN) “, and I ended up going to your team and checked on you at your tent (your space haha ). For the first time, it was our genuine encounter with each other – no façade. And right there and then, I saw breakthrough. I can still see it until now, such breakthrough only God can do and fulfil.

You made me kilig and excited every weekend and every time you would travel for our change 12 meet up and just for you to join cell. Every mid afternoon and late night catch ups are all worth it. The grace of God has carried and sustained you through valleys, plateaus and literally seas (because she once settled in Dumaguete) that you have to go through.

I have always believe on what God made me see – and that is you breaking your way through to where God wants you to flourish. Never doubted God that He will sustain you in your journey from Dumaguete and back to Cebu. Your theatre play tho haha you’ve made me experience Dumaguete in a different way. I can hear you saying ATE CHERIEEEEE in different emotions right now haha.

I am in awe of how God is fulfilling every purpose He has for your life – and woooooaaaahhh God is not even done with you yet.

As you celebrate your birthday today, I declare wisdom and supernatural strength. May the love of God cover you and overflow today. Jesus is cheering for you, I pray that as you grow in your intimacy with God, you will worship Him with all of your heart – soul – and all of your might. I cannot wait for you to flourish in your love for Christ. And as you continue to submit yourself to the lordship of Christ – may you enjoy basking in His presence.

Stay in love with Jesus, as you are continuously refined by God – may you continue see God’s providence surrounding you everyday. It is a privilege to serve God’s people hand in hand with you.

Know that you are not just love but it is also God’s desire to bless you and the next generation through you. Of all that you’ve been through and the things that you will have to go through in the future, Paul declared that “all things work together for good” only for “those who love God.. who are called according to His purpose”, believe that when God said “ Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations” – Deut 7:9 it will never come void. It is God’s desire to bless you and your family, and the God we serve is a covenant keeper God.

Always encourage yourself to bless the Lord in whatever state you are.

To the woman who is after God’s own heart, I declare blessing to you on your birthday. Grow and walk in the fullness of the Lord. And hey! I can still see you singing for God (worship na yan!) Happy birthday my armour bearer. Heart and soul with you, Ate Cherie
