Hi! Thank you all for the warm reception of my tgcf fangame. I decided to make a proper post to introduce it to the fandom

What is it about?

It’s a post-canon farming/dating sim. Hua Cheng has recently returned from his uhhhh “vacation” and is determined to propose to his gege, for real this time! 

He cannot afford to make a fool of himself again, so he has to prepare properly without Xie Lian finding out. How do you do that? Easy! You bring Xie Lian ingredients for one of his new boy dinner ideas, he cooks it and gets so inspired he distracts himself long enough for Hua Cheng to leave his side and do what he needs to do! Surviving just 6 of his creations will be enough for the ghost king to get ready and ask the love of his life to marry him.

But you can’t forget Hua Cheng’s main objective - Xie Lian’s happiness! To sustain it, you will have to take care of the house, keep your chickens fed and your beloved kissed, and try not to abuse E-Ming, please. If gege ever frowns for too long, Hua Cheng will self-detonate and die. Good luck!

Why are you making the game?

Beside the deep love I harbor for the books, I’m making it as a challenge to myself to finally finish a game. I want to make game development my career and have been playing around in engines since childhood but I have never actually released anything to the public. This changes soon! 

BUT do keep in mind that it’s technically my first game, so it’s not gonna be good! No one’s first game ever is, and it’s okay and I’ve already learned so much!! I hope you will enjoy giving it a try as much as I enjoyed making it.

When does it come out?

Hopefully this summer. I’ve already implemented all the core mechanics and now just have to finish visual and audio elements (i’m making every asset myself and it takes time) and fix bugs. I’m also getting my bachelor degrees this June, and it may or may not delay the release. We’ll see!

What’s the price gonna be?

Free! I don’t have any rights to sell it lol.

Hahahahaha. Ha. No. I’m terrible at naming anything. For now, I will tag everything related to the game as “rigeling’s tgcf fangame”. If you have a good suggestion, share it in the replies! I will credit you in the game ;)

English is not my mother tongue and my eyesight is kinda fucked up, so please, do tell me if you notice any mistakes or awkward wording. I tend to skip words altogether and don’t always notice it.

i've been fighting for my life trying to learn 3d for gamedev purposes (i'm losing) and this is my most complicated model and rig as of yet

tbh i'm very proud of myself for making this but good lord, 3d modeling is such a miserable form of art. Interesting, yes, quite rewarding too, but the moment you look away everything fucking explodes. i have a chicken that's already running around in my game but then i opened the blender file to show it to my friend and the chicken literally imploded on itself. idk what happened between exporting it and literally nothing else but yeah, 3d is fun
