The Charities work together to better the world. Their organizations are secret, but are publicly recognized as charities or associations for them to be able to work publicly. Behind the scenes, they are trying to make sure humanity won't destroy itself.
Opposite their aggressive counterparts, who want to keep the gods in check, they want to keep humanity in check by ensuring freedom and progress for all humans.
Besides this, they are united by their passion to help mankind. Though normal humans, they have been in the behind-the-scenes in helping civilizations or societies being freed. They also inspired other groups like The Freemasons.
One of The Charities. Their patron god is Prometheus. Prometheus rebelled against Zeus by giving mankind fire, therefore giving them technology and knowledge. The King of Olympus punished him for it by chaining him on the Caucasus Mountains, and sending vultures to feed on his immortal liver.
Prometheus has a church dedicated to him. His followers dedicate themselves to education and advancement. They are educators, scientists, mathematicians, technologists, lawyers and journalists. Most are stationed in third world countries.
Second of the four Charities, their patron gods are Castor and Pollux.
Pollux found a way to keep Castor alive without upsetting the balance of the living and the dead. From this brotherly love, two artifacts were created: Castor's compass and Pollux's brass knuckles. The twins cannot be found since they alternate between the Underworld and Olympus.
The church of Castor and Pollux is made up of (but not limited to) seafarers, adventurers, astronauts, pilots, athletes, policemen and soldiers. They are both searchers and defenders. Out of all the charities, they have the closest bonds with their peers
Their patron is Asklepios. He was a physician who helped his people. He tried to save those who were destined to die, thinking that doing nothing while knowing he could have saved them was immoral, Zeus saw this and thought his growing power could destroy the balance of the living and the dead. However, Zeus was also afraid he could revive the dead, and those who could dethrone him.
Though dead, his followers continued his mission to help people, especially health-wise. They are doctors, physicians, botanists, zoologists, veterinarians and others related to the wellbeing humans, animals and nature alike.
Their patrons are the cyclops brothers Arges, Brontes and Steropes. The cyclops brothers created Zeus' thunderbolt. It was their payment to Zeus for freeing them during the Titanomachy. Zeus killed them to prevent the creation of another thunderbolt. However, they did not die without people that cared for them.
Their hammers were taken and used to forge tools rather than weapons. However, sometimes used to create weapons with them in times of need.
In present day, these hammers are mostly decoration as a reminder for their group of their goals. They are composed of engineers, architects, mechanics, tradesmen, artisans, inventors and other creator-type careers.
