me and my friend have been wondering for days on what Anon's sword would look like. he says it should be a katana because she's a ninja, i say a kampilan because i'm delusional and fall to hype moments and aura. please help us
oh that’s sick as fuck. anon would absolutely wield a big dumb buster sword. And call it “mahal ko.”
Lore unlocked: anon does eventually get a cool one-liner, or something close to it. A villain-of-the-week manages to disarm her/yoink her sword and gets all “heh, what are you gonna do without your precious sword?” and anon’s like “bro I studied Filipino martial arts, I am equally comfortable beating the shit out of you with a chair leg.” And then beats the shit out of him with a chair leg.

Swordtember 2024 day 9- Avian. Inspired by the Kampilan of The Philippines
The sword of the day is the kampilan.
The kampilan is a traditional Filipino weapon, used by various ethnic groups throughout the southern portion of the archipelago. Unlike many weapons from the Philippines, which often double as agricultural or other tools, this sword is specifically designed for warfare. The hilt was made entirely of hardwood, with a large pommel to counterbalance the long blade, which was sharpened along the long straight edge. Said pommel is traditionally carved to resemble an animal, such as a hornbill, a crocodile, or a bakunawa (a legendary moon-eating monster).
Thank you to @kathanglangit for helping me write this one! If anyone reading happens to know about weapons, especially African or Chinese weapons, please let me know!
Hello tumblr. Call me R-, I'm a Filipino martial artist and mechanical engineer who designs weapons (usually). Recently washed up on these shores from Twitter and I'm a little bit lost, please bear with me as I figure this out.
