Itadori's attempts at the Heroic Sacrifice trope is hampered by the fact Fushiguro seems to believe they are in a suicide pact

What's even better is that this isn't a miscommunication or misunderstanding

Fushiguro knows full well that Itadori is willing to sacrifice himself to protect Fushiguro. Itadori said it in front of him. They both know this.

And Fushiguro is absolutely blatant about the fact that if Itadori goes down he's going down with him. Like Fushiguro has no trouble telling Itadori that to his face

So they are in this stalemate of Itadori going "let me lay down my life for you" and Fushiguro replying "you don't get to fucking die without me you selfish dick. It's a two for one special and if you don't like it don't die asshole."

Which I don't know why I love that dynamic so much but I do
