I can’t believe the amount of fucking imbeciles very frustrating individuals celebrating that Tweek and Craig are now “canon” - did you even watch the South Park episode? DID. YOU EVEN. WATCH IT. Are you really so blinded by your obsession with shipping that you can’t comprehend the message in an episode of SOUTH PARK? This isn’t exactly subtle writing, but apparently the broader messages about how to treat people went zooming over your heads.
It has a SAD ending where the characters are FORCED to be together because of PEOPLE LIKE YOU; because they feel trapped by absurd interpretation and expectation. In the end they just GAVE UP on being able to be themselves in order to make other people happy. It’s a NEGATIVE spin with COMMENTARY on YOU. It is in no way trying to show you an actual romance and if it were it would be a very unhealthy one. I don’t understand how anyone could misunderstand this.
The show is calling you out for your internalized discrimination. It’s calling you out for romanticizing an idealized fetish and trying to force characters to be something they’re not as well as correlating “yaoi” (a specific type of idealized Japanese erotica for women and by women) with “gay” - things that are not only false, but demeaning to the actually queer people who do not want to exist for your amusement. They don’t want to be hit with your paddles and looked at as sex objects, paired up with their friends and strangers for the same aesthetic, or even see characters in entertainment that don’t actually represent them being forced to. THAT’S NOT GENUINE REPRESENTATION NOR RESPECTFUL TO ANYONE. Yet instead of realizing the show is SHITTING on you for that, the lot of you lap it up with more delusional ignorance than the Sherlock fandom.
WOW. I just. I can’t even. You’re worse than Parker and Stone could have even begun to portray you. Well, at least they tried to make a point - the side stories of acceptance to some degree got through, but the major one sure as Hell didn’t. Unbelievable.
