Hello, Hello. So I lost my last email for my tumblr but some of you might know me as @upsidedownproship. You can call me Scrap. I use They/Them and He/Him pronouns.

Yandere Idea:

Yandere is normal until they contract a fungal infection that hits the brain and hijacks their body. The brain fungus makes Yan much more unpredictable with mood swings, fixations, and obsessive behaviors. It also has a habit of twisting an infected person's desires. Yan has moments of clarity every so often, but they aren't very long at all.

When I was thinking about it earlier, I thought of a scenario where Yan is cuddling with Darling on the couch (well more like they forced Darling to cuddle) and has a small moment of clarity.

"I... I'm so s-sorry..." Yan whimpers into Darling's neck, but before Darling even has a chance to process it, Yan is back to their usual, borderline manic behavior.

Idk what to call this fungus tbh, but I like this idea.

When the ship is between a younger character and their guardian figure who is in love with them but is afraid of breaking their trust and making them feel unsafe so they are constantly battling with their own morals and having to decide whether they should destroy the safe figure they provide in favor of their own lust or keep up their facade of normalcy to keep the one they love safe while suffering in silence

ABSOLUTELY YES HE IS. Gene is just awful and it's great. So many interesting and fun dynamics to explore, he's terrible to everyone he loves but he's unique and individual and specifically tailored to each person. He'll treat them very differently, like maybe he's openly and obviously abusive and violent to Zenix but he's covert and manipulative to Laurance, and its canon that he's more of an influencing and controlling figure to Dante!

Gene is uniquely horrible and it's very fun!!

Hearing people get upset over fictional taboos when you know real people who are abused feels so weird to me.

Seeing people dedicate valuable time to make harrassment pages, call-out posts, and have anamosity in general towards people who write dark things feels so jarring when you know that energy and time can go to helping real victims and hold real abusers accountable.

I don't know. Not to seem performative, but I do volunteer programs, and my job and future job is dedicated towards helping people who are in tough situations like that in real life. There's also always a shortage of people like us. I wish people would stop pretending to care online and start showing up where it actually mattered instead of pretending to be one of us who actually helps.

How can you say you advocate for victims and do nothing for actual victims? Always an "advocate" for fictional victims because its easy and never an advocate for real victims and for what? Laziness? Performativism? Facism? Moral superority?

It's so frustrating and tiring for me to see keyboard warriors trying to "advocate" on their TikTok homepage (so essentially just harrassing people because they can't curate their internet experience) over getting out in the real world and creating real change.

An important addition to make is that many dark writers are victims and use fiction to cope. Unless you hurt someone in real life, you aren't an abuser.

You don't care about actual victims.
