It’s my father’s birthday. Sad that he can’t spend it with us since he’s abroad. Nonetheless, I greeted him through Facebook. I had a lovely lunch with my mother and sister at Gumbo: A Taste of New Orleans after running some errands. There were a lot of people at the mall, typical Saturday situation, so we ended up trying a new restaurant because we saw that it’s the less packed. The food was good. I particularly loved the watermelon shake, fries and the grilled pork chop! We shopped after. Need to burn all those calories. Jk. This is what happens when my mother is in town. She’s the only one who can drag us out amidst our homework and deadlines, which is something I am grateful about considering that I am drained with all the schoolworks. I need to get away sometimes.

As I mentioned on my previous post that I competed in a quiz bee and guess what? I won the first place. As a result, I’ve got exempted in the final exam.

Last week’s happenings according to my planner: 

It was the first Monday of July and I am required to cooperate in eXtraOrdinary Monday aka wear-your-business-attire-day. I kind of missed my morning class because I woke up late. (UGH I AM SERIOUSLY FRUSTRATED AT MYSELF BECAUSE I LIVE NEAR BUT I STILL MANAGED TO MISS MY CLASS.)

I attended a seminar last Tuesday. It was very educational.

We had no classes last Wednesday because it was Eid al-Fitr. I did my homeworks and slept the whole day.

I was supposed to get my Dean’s List certificate but guess whaaaaat?! I forgot. Typical Bianca. Sigh. 

Like I’ve said in my previous post, my school suspended classes last Friday due to heavy rain brought by the typhoon.

It was my boyfriend’s celebration and I ate a lot. (What diet?)

I met up with my group mates for drama then I went out with my boyfriend and sister after. I bought a gift for my boyfriend but I let him pick it. He’s happy. Seeing him happy makes me happy. 

I am one of the participants for a quiz bee about Philippine Governance and the 1987 Constitution on Friday which explains why I am studying about it. Wish me luck!

Life lately consists of being busy and new things to obsess on. 

Loving this Herschel Supply Co. Dawson Backpack my mom got me about three weeks ago. 

After complaining that my hands hurt, I bought an Apple Magic Mouse and an Intuos Comic Pen & Touch Tablet for my Mac since I am taking Adobe Illustrator class this term.

I read Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Bataan for my PHIL-EN class which focuses on Philippine Literature. It’s actually my first time reading a Filipino crime fiction and it didn’t disappoint. My professor assigned us to read Dusk by F. Sionil José next. He said the author was his professor at DLSU. How cool is that?!

I bought Camper Planner last Tuesday because my Starbucks 2016 Planner is an absolute mess. My life is somewhat organised now. 

It’s my boyfriend’s birthday today. I drew a portrait of him. I won’t post it because it sucks but I hope he will appreciate my effort. Heh. I plan to surprise him later. Sshh.

I guess I should blog more. I missed doing this. Anyway, classes were suspended yesterday due to Typhoon Butchoy. The weather actually ruined a lot of plans of mine. I guess I will be on beast mode next week because I have to catch up on deadlines seeing as third term will be over soon.

Ever since the term started, I’ve been putting in so much time and effort for school. I joined a new organization which aims to promote the rights of Deaf people and I ended up being the secretary. Surprise, surprise. 

On the other note, I finally found a place where I can study in peace. I actually prefer going to a coffee shop or the library at school when doing my school works since I can’t concentrate on being productive at my condo because I’ll probably end up sleeping or watching a movie/TV series (aka Game of Thrones).

I have a midterm examinations coming up next week. Oh, so much work that needs to be done. Everything needs to slow down.

Last Wednesday, we had no classes since it’s Araw ng Maynila. We were supposed to do our project in FILIP but one of my group mates has errands so we decided to move it on Sunday instead. I was browsing my Twitter newsfeed and I came across Abbey Sy’s tweet. She just published a book! How cool is that? And it’s more cooler because her book is about hand lettering. I’ve been a fan of her since forever and being a frustrated letterer that I am, I know I just have to get the book so I immediately texted my boyfriend and asked him if he can accompany me to Greenbelt because her book is only available in selected branches and Greenbelt is the nearest.

My boyfriend fetched me and together, we went to Greenbelt. We passed by Glorietta first and we decided to check if National Bookstore has a copy and to my surprise, they do! I bought the book immediately. I could barely hold my excitement! My boyfriend and I ate dinner at Pepper Lunch. I opened the book after eating and oh boy, it was love at first sight. It’s helpful and inspirational. Everyone need to have this book. It’s so worth it.

Hi, everyone! Guess who’s back? Meeee! I apologize for my absence. I hope y’all didn’t forget me. I sort of fallen off the bandwagon lately. I’ve been busy with academics and Transition Term just started about 5 weeks ago but now I’m getting into the swing of things and I should be back to posting regularly, hopefully. I’m learning how to balance time. I feel like I spend so much time on my iPhone, playing Clash of Clans and reading my Twitter and Facebook newsfeed. I miss telling about my day to day happenings and what nots. In case you haven’t noticed, I revamped my blog for a new start. 

Anyway, I’m currently reading Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson for my English class. School has been great. I’m great. I passed all my subjects last Third Term which I couldn’t be more grateful about and I joined an organization. I am currently having a workshop every Saturday. I’m actually pretty pumped up about it.

I’m starting a new blog series called The College Diaries because I want to rant and tell you how my days in Uni goes. Anyway, my classes started last Monday. Too early, right? I didn’t even go to the beach this summer but it’s okay. I already met some of my block mates because we had an Interaktiv last Friday. Interaktiv is a frosh orientation program and probably the most and much awaited event as a Benildean. Boy, did I enjoy it. There were a lot of surprises and freebies.

I have one class every Monday and two every Tuesday and Wednesday and none for Thursday and Friday. Oh, my course is really complicated. I only have two terms and I have to pass every subject to really get in. We aren’t allowed to fail or get an R and join any school organizations because we have to focus on passing.

My block mates and I ate lunch together at Burger King yesterday, we talked about a whole variety of things and they gave me a new FSL sign name. I’m happy that we seem a lot more relaxed with each other, a lot lighter. I have a three hours break every Tuesday and Wednesday because my next class doesn’t start until 2:40 PM. Most of the time, I don’t know what to do and where to chill but my block mates and I hang around the campus or go to the library lol frosh problems. I can’t wait to get a place near school so I can sleep during break.

I’m in a good place right now. I’ll try to blog a more detailed post next week. Stay tuned.

The days are getting hotter here. To be honest, summer is my least favorite time of the year. Manila is hell. Literally. It’s not even the peak of summer yet.

I wish I could freely say what’s on my mind here all the time, but unfortunately, it doesn’t always work that way. Anyway, here’s the first week of April in a nutshell, it was a week full of fun but at the same time it was so much more than that.

Spent April Fools working on my uni application. Went to my future school early and life was almost drained when we saw a lot of incoming frosh working on their application too but I got in fourth. Hoh perks.

Watched Diary Ng Panget The Movie last Wednesday with my cousins. We had an early dinner at Yabu because 4:50 PM show was full. It was actually really funny. James Reid almost killed me. I kept swooning. Yeah, no shame.

Had a fancy tea date at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique today. We had a set of tea croque imperial, two freshly baked muffins served with jelly and cream and matcha and earl grey macarons. It was pleasant, in fact more than pleasant.

If you’re wondering who’s that girl over there, it’s me. I’m finally brave enough to post a photo of myself here. I rarely take a selfie. I’m just not that confident. Anyway, I ordered Holiday In New York iced tea to beat the heat. Ahh, I love tea!

My mother bought me tria markers and I decided to try them out.

I would like to introduce the current love of my life + Biscoff biscuits. I swear they’re heaven. I can’t get enough. 

Bought a pink speckled roshe run but they were too long. What a bummer, it’s so pretty though. I tried to sell it online so I can buy a new one because I need a new trainers for working out but no one seems interested. I might give it to my sister instead.

All in all, another great week and now ready for next week. Two reaction papers due. I’m trying hard not to count the days home, but to still remain attentive and open during FSLLP class. So much to catch up on, barely had any time to whine about it.

Barely had enough sleep last Friday from watching too many movies when I knew perfectly well that I need to be up early. Anyway, I went to Rockwell with my sister and cousins at seven in the morning to swim. My cousin is a triathlon athlete and he needed to train so he let us tag along. When we got home, I slept for two hours then we went to The Fort to buy penny for my sister. Unfortunately, it was out of stock. We had a dinner at Conti’s. Like a fried chicken and mango lover that I am, I ordered Crispy Chicken and a mango shake which are too good. I can’t even. Oh, funny thing happened. There was this handsome waiter at Conti’s and my cousin can’t even look at him while ordering. Haha! We waIked around and I stumbled upon this plant stall which is selling cactus and succulents for Php 35. I bought two cactus and one succulents for Php 100 only. What a bargain! I am totally in love. I spent hour looking for a small white pots but I can’t find any. Mom surprised me with them yesterday though.

I asked my Mom if we can watch Divergent when we got home from The Fort last Friday night. She was totally game but when we arrived, the mall was closing already. What a bummer! There was a night food festival happening nearby though so we went there instead and bought foods. I live for spontaneous nights like this.

Oh, my brother finally graduated from uni last Thursday! I’m so happy. I couldn’t be more proud of him. ❤️

Yesterday, I woke up late due to my night life, by “night life” I mean reading and crying over a book till three in the morning. I also woke up all sore because I literally killed my workout the day before. I ate a bowl of ice cream yesterday without even thinking about it and totally ruined my diet. I was really pissed at myself but I figured instead of feeling guilty, I have decided to spend the remainder of the day being totally indulgent and lazy and wasteful.

So my cousin and I decided to head out and we ate at Wildflour Café + Bakery at The Podium. We both ordered Mac and Cheese and I had Vietnamese latte which is too strong for my taste. The food was okay. Nothing special. I really don’t have much to say. Then we went to Megamall and ate macaron ice cream for dessert at Chez Karine which is located at the newly opened Mega Fashion Hall. It was yummy. You should try their macaron ice cream. After devouring our macaron ice cream, we went to Shang and walked around.

On a different note, I passed my interview! Yay! I have one and only FSLLP class every Saturdays so I can’t wait to go back to school this May because long weekdays aren’t fun for me.

Not entirely certain yet, but I might go see Need For Speed later. Have a lovely week!

Sorry I wasn’t able to blog. A lot of shit happened these past few weeks. I’m still grieving because I lost my paternal grandmother. I’m beyond heartbroken by the sudden turn out of events. She was recovering but yeah, something always have to take your happiness away. It’s crazy how life can be taken away with a blink of an eye. I don’t deal with death very well but as time passes by, you learn how to cope. I guess that’s life, old age creeps us when we least expect it and death is inevitable. That’s why you gotta learn how to live your life. You gotta take risks and aim, not only for your happiness, but for others too.

I think all this positiveness came from reading Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Alboom, the second book I’ve read this 2014 and might be the most inspiring, life changing book I’ve ever read. I’ve read it during her wake. It helped me accept death as a natural part in human life. I’ve always find a way to be negative which ultimately affects me but after reading that book, it changed my entire perspective on life. That book is a gift to mankind. You should read it. I guarantee you it will change your life the same way it changed mine.

Here’s a recap of what happened these past few weeks:

Took my final exam in FSL Level 1. I passed.

I didn’t attend Gayle Forman’s book signing in Glorietta last Saturday since I forgot to bring my books with me. I went to Fully-Booked instead to get my copy of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of The Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.

I went home since my FSL Level 2 class will start in February. I will probably get back to the city this weekend to enroll. I hate leaving home.

I learned to write my name in Elvish. I hope it’s right though. Gotta have more practice and research. I really want to learn Elvish and Dwarf Runes, they seem useful. #NerdProblems

I’m currently reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien even though I’m not yet done reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman. I’m basically trying to hit two birds with one stone.

How’s your January so far? It’s almost February. Everything is changing so fast. The future will soon be the past.

Thursday was pretty dull. I couldn’t sleep last night so I watched workout videos on YouTube. Oh, I found the perfect workout for me! It’s Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It’s pretty effective judging from the results I found on Google. I can’t wait to try it out! I’ll start as soon as I get a new set of dumbbells and a mat. I know I said this so many times but I’m really determined to lose a lot of weight this year. Anyway, I fell asleep at five in the morning. Ugh, I really need to fix my body clock. I can’t miss my morning walk and breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe that’s why I’m too small, I seldom eat breakfast. My mom did woke me up early and asked me if I want to go with them somewhere. I lack sleep so I just shook my head and said no and went back to sleep.

I woke up just in time for lunch. I’ve had a small portion of rice and a grilled meat (without fat). I’m honestly clueless about what to eat and not eat. Food is so good but I want to eat clean. This is going to be so hard.

By the way, I started 2014 Reading Challenge on Goodreads already. Though I still haven’t started reading anything yet because I don’t know what to get on my bookshelf. Don’t worry, I’ll come up with a decision sooner or later.

I played with Chubbs, our golden retriever. Photographing a dog is so hard. I literally have to hold a food to make him sit still.

First of all, a belated merry Christmas and a happy new year, my friends! I would like to apologize for being MIA from the blogging world but now I’m back, hopefully. One of my definite goal this year is to get back into photography and blogging. As I write this, I admit that I had lose the passion for the very things that make my world go round. But that’s why I’m here. I long to create– to pour out everything into words, into art, into a beautiful mixture of creation and destruction.

Last year has been a struggle for me. 2013 held so much. I graduated high school. I was dreaming of a new me. But April came and went. So did May and June. And then followed July, August and September- but none of them held what I was looking for. I took a year off from school which gave me discontent and a crippling lack of motivation. But despite it all, I learned a lot. From being independent, meeting new people, learning sign language and being finally part of the Deaf community.

So I am welcoming 2014 with open arms and hoping that this year will be good or maybe, even better. The possibilities are endless.
