How far would you grow?

UPDATE: The Shaving Strike has successfully finished. Through the power of social media (and a little help from Gillette) my partner and I have landed our first dream job in advertising. If you knew me you’d know that my face has always been coated in neat stubble. The last time my face was left bald, my testicles hadn’t yet surrendered to gravity and my voice would break easier than a Kit Kat. Today, my neat stubble goes. My chin will be as smooth as Don Draper's words and hopefully as enthrallingly brawny as his too. Before I venture further off on a tangent, I will leave you with this simple proposition. I will not shave again until I successfully land my first junior creative job within an advertising agency. If you’re anything like me and still hold a special place for children’s picture books in your heart, then picture this blog as exactly that. Everyday I’ll take a new photo of my face and upload it here. Look out Santa, here I come.

Day 75: King Kong, Godzilla and Rosie O'Donnell. I could destroy any monster you throw my way. Why? Because you are looking at one half of the new creative junior team at CHE Proximity and I feel unstoppable! It has been an interesting journey and like a new puppy, I have become somewhat emotionally attached to this beard. As promised, it will go and you (my loyal believers) will decide how! Day 74: After a tricky couple of weeks, we finally had the opportunity to pitch our ideas at CHE today, and it was awesome. They loved our pitch and loved our ideas. There are two junior teams fighting for this job and today, we held no punches. We gave our everything. Now we wait and see if our everything was enough. This is the closest we've ever been to landing our dream job and now that we have a taste, we are hungrier and more determined than ever! #nojobyet

Day 73: Last night I had a dream that we skipped the pitch and started working straight away.. I also dreamt that I was in church and my cousin went on a rampage with dual shotguns and I could only stop him by harnessing power from trees and bending nature. In other words, I’m not relying on my dreams to become a reality unless I work for it in real life! With that being said, time to prepare for tomorrow's pitch! #fingercrossed #nojobyet

Day 72: Our pitch was pushed back again.. That's the fourth time! These guys are super busy and we don't want our pitch to be an inconvenience. We want them to be excited to see our ideas! We've worked too hard. I think we should just show up first thing tomorrow morning and start working. Screw the pitch! it seems like they need a few extra hands and my partner and I are two very hungry hippos. #nojobyet

Day 71: You're looking at the new Digital/Social Media Intern for the Australian Academy of design! However, the beard still stays. Tuesday's meeting was pushed back till Wednesday. It's like Xmas day is being put on hold! we can't wait, we want this job! #nojobyet

70: After two nights off the partner and I are back in action. Come to think of it, I'm almost certain that's the longest we've ever been apart from each other this year *imaginary fist bump*. Anyway Tuesdays meeting is around the corner and we need to get our serious faces on like a little kid doing number 2 in their nappy. #bromance #bloodbrothers #broke #nojobyet

Day 68: AWARD school is done and so am I. Tonight, I do nothing. My brain will be going into pilot mode as I immerse myself in what can only be described as a gaming marathon of extraordinary lengths. #nojobyet

Day 67: My AWARD folio is near completion. One more all nighter tonight and I'm going to sleep like Snorlax! Really excited to get our website live and to put these AWARD ads in our folio! Our folio needs to make jobs flock more than girls do over '50 Shades of Grey'. #nojobyet

Day 66: Being a meticulous perfectionist doesn't work when time is against you. Luckily, a very talented friend @day__one is helping me out with my sketches. Check his stuff out. Anyway, time to inject some coffee directly into the blood stream to ensure one more day of survival. Oh, and one more thing.. Shampooing your beard is the shiznit! #fluffy #beard #nojobyet

Day 64: Today's big pitch was moved back to next Tuesday.. The guys at CHE are knee deep. I'm knackered, the partner and I have had next to no sleep and have worked harder than something that works extremely hard. Sorry guys, too tired to think of a funny comparison. Time to mix some sugary goods from the pantry together and play an extreme version of wake up Jeff - my AWARD school folio is almost due. Time for some next level motivation! #nosleep #noworries #nojobyet

Day 63: I received an email today, offering an internship as a junior graphic designer in Hong Kong. Although it's interesting, it's not advertising. In other news, our pitch is tomorrow and I'm as excited as a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert. #belieber #nojobyet
