I had surgery last year which stopped me from exercising and I have to have surgery again in 3 days which will stop me again! I'm so frustrated bc having to recover from surgery last year stopped my exercising for about 6 months and I really don't want that to happen again
Just make sure your food is on point as that will assist with recovery too! X
Do you have any tips for people who want to get back on track on their weight loss journey but have no motivation? I'm a junior in high school and my life is literally just school right now, i have no time to work out or cook my own meals so I just eat whatever or order food. Not to mention I've been stress eating. I lost 20 pounds last year but I let myself go this year and I gained it all back :( I really want to get back at it again but I don't know where to start.
Motivation is a big one - and the only thing that's going to get you back on track. Find your reason for wanting to do it and use it in every decision you make. You also have to make time to cook your food because it's the most important part. I used to work 12 hour shifts and that's when I lost the bulk of my weight - so you can def do it too!
wow i am so impressed and motivated by your progress! i am actually moved to tears that you are so lovely as to share it with people. i have been very overweight and yoyo'd between very thin and very big and have been left with a lot of loose skin. have you found anything helps to tone it? i weight train and cardio but it all collects around my tummy.... any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much for being so brave and amazing xxx
Unfortunately if there's stubborn loose skin, surgery is the only option! However time and weight lifting helps reduce the appearance of it x
Hi. Just wanted to let you know that you are a lovely and wonderful person, and such an inspiration. Not just for weight loss, but for positive self image and healthy living! Thank you!
Excuse me whilst I just leave this badass transformation picture of me right here! 55kg/125lbs gone, plus another 2.5kg/6lbs of skin removed in a tummy tuck. So damn proud.
While searching on the web I stumbled across ur story n I was really impressed to finally find someone that has gone through such a journey and shared their story and is willing to be help to others. And wanted to get some advice from u. I'm 17 and a student. I want to lose weight but I can never find time to exercise & since I'm always stresses & busy with school I resort to eating unhealthy. I don't know what to do. How can you I find way to stop myself from resorting to food & exercise more?
Let your parents know! Get them on board so that there's good food in the house. Make time to get out an exercise as it will help immensely with stress! X
It's been a crazy long ass time since I've logged on to tumblr. BUT I thought it was worth a share on here. I went out and did what I set out to do when first joining tumblr. I lost the weight, and along the way managed to help inspire others. I lost 55kg/125lbs. 3 days ago I went under the knife to get a tummy tuck to remove excess skin. I cannot wait to see it in a few days when the swelling has gone down. Words can't describe how excited I am to not have my apron of skin sitting on top of my thighs when I sit down. I'm FLAT!
Day 1 Post Op: Tummy tuck was a success!!!! Needed no muscle repair and have not been in too much pain (yet). It’s definitely almost unbearable to get up though. This is kinda sucky because I have to pee so often with all this water I’m required to intake. But not much complaining from me! I’m already impatient to take off my binding and see the results!
But since so many of you have asked for pics of my excess skin.. I decided it’s time to post them.
The first photo I am a little embarrassed to post online! It’s from May 12th of last year, truth be told I’d already lost 15 pounds when I took this! :
(Told you guys it was bad….)
Then this is me a little over a year later and was taken yesterday before I left for the hospital (July 11th 2014):
I'ts not as bad as I’ve seen from others who’ve lost over a 100pounds.. But my belly button was a frowny and all that on my lower abdomen was a pure flap of skin. My surgeon said that there was no more exercising that could have been done to retract my skin anymore-I’d done all I could do.
So there ya go folks!
I can wait to share with you guys the post-tummy tuck photos! Especially when I’m rockin that bikini!!!
And P.S. never be ashamed of excess skin!!!!! I am not even the slightest embarrassed for the girl in the second photo, cause let me tell ya: she worked her ASS off!!!
Love you all, and keep those prayers coming for a fast recovery.
Well hey, Tumblr! It’s been awhile! So I’m still going after posting these shots at the beginning of the year. Amazingly an article about me went viral and this little ol’ kiwi gal ended up with a whole lot of attention.
You can follow me more frequently on Facebook where I post daily. After the photos went viral, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills by the name of Dr Cat Begovic contacted me and has offered to donated surgery to me. The article was about how I couldn’t get any funding (our government funds excess skin removal, but almost exclusively only to people who have had a gastric bypass done by them.. I lost it myself. CRAZY) and so when Dr Begovic contacted me, I was ridiculously excited. Turns out I’m now booked in with her on August 26th.
Me. Flying to LA. To get plastic surgery. Is my life a dream or what? So thankful for this incredible experience and cannot wait to share my new after photos! She is just performing a tummy tuck on me, but eventually I want to get my arms and thighs done too. And boobies eventually! But yes. So exciting. I love life. YAY WEIGHT LOSS!
Hi there! I've spent some time on your website and your accomplishments are incredible! Good for you! May I ask what your starting weight was? If you don't want to share, I understand, I just couldn't seem to find it on your site. Thanks(:
Hi sweets! Thank you for your lovely message! I don't share my weight as it promotes comparison, and comparison kills progress!!
