Sculptress of Sound documentary 

 In honour of her pioneering work in electronic music, Delia Derbyshire will have a road named after her in her hometown of Coventry, the BBC reports.

Derbyshire was an essential part of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, exploring uncharted territory in electronic music. To many, she is best remembered for the the theme song to Doctor Who.

Today Doppler Labs announced the close of a $17 million Series B investment round aimed at bringing bionic hearing to the market.

The folks over at Hot Casa Records kindly pt out this reissue of the phenomenal  Itadi Bonney. A tremendous Afro Soul album recorded in Togo in 1977.

This rare album was created by a four piece band formed and leaded by Itadi. It was recorded live in Ghana at the radio station and remixed in Togo.

With all the chat about the Pistorius trial, this article booms loudly. We know some of the famous stories of musicians who have overcome the odds and developed techniques that work with their disability, pushing them further into the stratosphere that is music. 

Django and his phenomenal style. He retrained himself using a 3 finger technique after a fire left his 4th and 5th fingers paralyzed. Rick Allen of Def Leppard who lost an arm in a car accident and worked closely with drum manufacturers to develop a kit that he could work with. Today we have a marvelous project and the inventor has a vision of a future where the disabled can do what the abled cannot.
