May Day workers March. Thank you to Camille of Sidewalk for representing with all the other beautiful folks and groups. @aidsunited @stripperstrikenoho May Day has roots in many things: ancient pagan European celebrations, international solidarity, and anarchy and socialism. The push for fair working conditions during the Industrial Revolution, when capitalism began to take it’s hold, happened across the world. It has a violent history in the United States where the working class was silenced through force by the police in Chicago. You can read more about the history here: https://www.npr.org/2022/04/30/1095729592/what-is-may-day-history We continue to celebrate May Day to push back against these oppressive capitalists ideals and fight for worker’s rights. Being paid a livable wage isn’t radical, it’s common sense. Demanding to be treated like a human and not a robot isn’t radical, it’s necessary. What are you fighting for? #mayday #laborday #workersrights https://www.instagram.com/p/CdEDcCTuieC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
