Super hyped for Deltarune Chapter 5 I made a Deltarunesona. His name is Zadrian. The Z is Silent. Also yes I realized the shading is a bit much but also this is my first pixel art so :p

Fun Dialogue below!

First Dialogue:

"Sup, names Zadrian, the Z is silent."

"What do you mean there's no Z?"

Second Dialogue:

"Ya like bugs?! You better because I'm one! Hey look there's another now!"

If you squish the bug:

"et tu Kris?"

If you pet the bug:

"Hell yeah! Alright you're cool, here take this!"

You get a "I love bugs" Hat (helps with defense and pacifys bug enemies)

"Made it myself! Hope you like it!"

He will never speak to you again if you squish the bug.

Final Dialogue:

If you have the hat on:

"Nice hat Kris! If you ever need more I'll have plenty at the festival! Have a good day kiddos!"

If you don't have the hat on:

"Kris! lost it already? Don't worry I'll have more at the festival, for now take this!

Unabstracted Characters Sketches!

Breakdown of designs below!

Idea:

So I was thinking about abstraction, since it seems there is hope that those who got abstracted can come back, and I thought about what that would look like. This is my first attempt/collection of sketchs I made of Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Jax (or as I call her Jaxxi) and what that may look like. Like I imagined it working similar to corruption in Steven Universe, where like the person may be in a better place mentally, but the mental scarring makes the physical aspects be present in some way. Also, not only will they have scarring, but in some way their forms will be healed to better reflect who they are after going through abstraction.

Ribbit:

I made her's first. I had thought about giving her a more scarred form, but the more I thought about it, I think her's would be better looking less intrusive when looking forward at her. In reality, her back has a major scar with dozens of eyes to represent the betrayal she had with Jaxxi. I also git rid of her Bowtie because after Jaxxi did all those things, she didn't want a reminder of her. Her form also has a more emo vibe bc, while she will still be cheery and nice, she definitely has a more moments of expressing her sorrow. Also I think she would lean more into morbid humor to cope.

Kaufmo:

So his design was mainly driven by a different style of clown, also I wanted it to lean more into his more adult nature that we see him have compared to Jaxxi and to an extent Ribbit. Also I may go back and change how his scarring looks but I'm not too sure. Either way I just wanted him to look tired, kind, and express similar to ribbit, how he'll be more real about things and kinda lean into darker humor like Ribbit. But I think he'll be less funny and more like an uncle who's gone through stuff but still finds happiness in what he has.

Jaxxi (Jax):

So yes I call her Jaxxi bc it's a cute name and signals to people that Jax is embracing her identity as Transfem. So I imagined, while Jaxxi wouldn't unabstract last, I think she would be one of the ones that takes longer to unabstract, like Queenie would probably unabstract before her, but definitely not before Scratch who would probably be the last to unabstract. Anyways bc of this her form has the worst scarring (bc I do imagine it gets tamer over time but again doesn't go away). The only parts with no scarring are her chest, parts of her legs, and of course part of her face, but everywhere else is scarred. I specifically chose not to scar her chest bc I saw that as a place of healing for her. Her face while she is happy with it, she's still dealing with the idea of allowing herself to be happy so her face is yet to be fully healed/less scarred. Her clothes I wanted to look like certain old anthro lady animal characters but also feel like a pastel goth circus performer. I wanted all three to kinda connect in some way in aesthetic so this is what I landed on to help connect her design with there's. Also Jaxxi would definitely be more cautious to joke, but after Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Jaxxi reconcile, she goes back somewhat to her playful self and not being so mean.

Their Dynamic:

Their dynamic is of course not great at first. Like Ribbit and Kaufmo ignore or fight with Jaxxi at first. I imagine there's even a moment when Jaxxi's and Ribbit's abstraction scars start to flare up till both Pomni and Kaufmo separate the two of them, it's that bad. But after an adventure where they're forced to work with each other they eventually talk and finally begin reconnecting. Also to help everyone, Pomni starts making little events one of them being improv, and Ribbit, Kaufmo, and Jaxxi have the best time. This allows everyone to express their feelings in a fun and less stressful way.

But yeah, idk may sketch more, may even fully render them, but I really just love the potential for this and wanna explore it more drawing wise!

Vinnysuperg is one of the best streamers I've watched in a while, he's really funny, has great banter with chat, and based on his insight on gaming you can tell he actually plays and enjoys video games and doesn't just do the slop of the week sorta gaming. Like my favorite series since watching him is Look Outside which is Chefs Kiss. He may be very chaotic at times but his streams always feel cozy to me. Overall I just really like Vinnysuperg and any stream with him is such a delight! Of course I know not everyone will like him, but trust me he's the GOAT.

So on YouTube, Subjectively posted a little contest about making your own version of bigfoot. I wanna submit this but I'd also like feedback! Here's more info about the Big Foot I made -

My design of Big Foot is a tribute to it's indigenous origins as sasq'ets and to the Sts'ailes people which the sasq'ets originates. This version of big foot is a spirit manifested by nature as the natural order of the forest began to be disrupted and harmed by the influx of human activity in the area. Big Foot protects the forest and those who call it home. Big foots punishments are not to be taken lightly. Because of this, to most Big Foot is a terrifying monster with nashing teeth, clawed hands, and feet ready to crush you. But to the Sts'ailes, animals, plants, and all of nature, Big foot is kind and loving. Big foot adorns the gifts given to them no matter who they're from. Big foot warns those nearby of coming danger. Big Foot helps restore damage to the forest. And of course, big foot, even if a child was initially bad, helps the kid return home, whether that be in the forest or outside it.

I'll definitely refine the description later, but I want to know if the information and my drawing read well together? Also I want to make sure I'm being respectful to the Sts'ailes people, because it frustrates me that the story of sasq'ets has been coopted by conspiracy nuts and taken out of its original context. I did research on sasq'ets and native art depictions of them for inspiration and again to be a tribute. But lmk what I should work on also places I may be able to do better research for making a more inspired and cohesive design.

Finally finished my full drawing of my persona! I love how he turned out! If you're curious what he is, he's an insectipire, which is a vampire with insect attributes. Mine is a butterfly varient and the reason he doesn't have butterfly wings is because the wings were taken. So with his clothing making skills he used what was left of his wings and made them into these ribbons that can bend and shape into wings or work as arms. This is his more human looking form. He has three forms, the second one is more bug like, and his third is a butterfly! I'll probably draw those later but yeah here he is! Also you can call him Pupalis! Also their little guy is a Japanese Rain Charm named Brillar!
