Missing: 20 year old female. Last seen 16 years ago, Before he touched her. We can’t describe her smile, We’ve forgotten what it looks like. Generally has disheveled, curly hair. Sleeps fifteen hours a day. Only eats when told to. Missing: 20 year old female. Used to laugh more than she breathed. Maybe she’s inside the body we see, But with how she’s been acting lately, That’s extremely unlikely.

we had to find our footing. a year and a half, your seven unanswered texts, and today i called you. it felt disconnected, disjointed, strange, and then we were crying. you kept saying “sorry isn’t a strong enough word.” you were overwhelmed, pained, excited. the sound of your voice didn’t make my stomach flutter and that’s how i knew i was strong enough. i have missed you every day. today is the day we move forward.

“I miss my best friend. I'm starting to get angry at him for abandoning me but I know he has his reasons. I’m still right here.”

you didn’t get to live. you didn’t get to see a senior year, graduation, college, work, family. Your life looks as if it was so small. You just got hospital beds and white walls and loving a boy who couldn’t respect you after you died.

Your life looks so small from the outside but from here, from someone who wasn’t outside, it was bursting with passion. you were so special, so strong and used to be so happy. there was so much love in you that you couldn’t contain it. There were so many people who cherished you that we couldn’t even make a list.

all you wanted was to survive for your family until you couldn’t anymore. you’d always said you wanted to die until one day you were and we all sat in a circle begging for you to live.

I miss you. I wish your life looked bigger.

It feels as if my body doesn’t belong to me anymore. I am disconnected. I walked to class and I couldn’t feel the steps I was taking. I am living on autopilot and I can’t breathe when I’m not. This is no way to live.

It’s like a wall. I never know when it’s coming or what it will feel like but I know it when it’s here. I sit in the middle of class and my lungs collapse. my stomach turns in on itself. It has been a good day. I’m finally awake and I’m almost happy. I don’t know where you came from. I cannot breathe. My philosophy professor asked about honor and I thought about how you’ve only ever seen my stomach when it was under you. you don’t know what I look like. Why can’t I be happy? Why do you always come crawling up my spine until I can’t feel my legs. Why won’t you let me be? Where did you come from. Why are you coming after me?

It felt like somewhere along the way, we became a game of jenga. hear me out now, it was like, every day we pulled a part of us away but still tried to rebuild. I learned as a child that you can't keep building on a foundation with holes. every day I wanted to tell you something new and eventually you stopped responding. every day I told you I love you and eventually you said “you're pretty cool too.” the tower toppled over.
