Danielle Simmonds, a barista at Philz Coffee in downtown San Jose who was affected by the recent minimum wage increase, brews a customer's coffee during her shift. San Jose raised its minimum wage which became effective January 1, 2014 from $10 to $10.15 an hour because of the annual cost of living. Yesterday SJSU President Mohammad Qayoumi (top and bottom) was joined by attorney Mike Moye (center left) and Judge Ladoris Cordell (center right) in addressing and updating the public about the hate crime that occurred on campus last fall. A fact-finding report was released which detailed the events of last year's incident and concluded that the administration was not at fault.
