being a young girl in a classic rock fandom is lowkey crazy because tell me why at the robert plant Q&A the other day, I had one man say to me “you’re too young to even know who robert plant is!” and then proceed to glare and take photos of me the whole evening. And then at the concert the day before, these two older women standing behind me and my sister basically said that we were only fans of zep because of tiktok and say to each other (i quote) “i don’t even think of teenagers as real people with thoughts and feelings anymore, everything is just a trend to them.”

YET these are the same people who go around saying, “kids these days don’t even know real music!” bla bla, YOU CANNOT WIN!! Also, not to pull out the gender card but this is 10x worse with girls especially. As an example, just look at the comment sections between boys who dress vintage (praised) and then girls who dress vintage (sexualised or policed on “accuracy”). can’t a girl just enjoy good music and have good style without either being looked at like a piece of meat or shamed by bitter, middle aged, bordering on elderly adults!! please!

obviously i’m well aware this isn’t true for everyone, and i did have the privilege to meet some really lovely and cool older people at the concert also! so to them (and anyone like that) i thank you!! for a generation so focused on peace and love, i have such a fondness for those that still uphold those values 🫶🏻

but to those other mfs omg for the love of god please get a life and get over the fact that you peaked at 18 and now it’s all you think about!
