Mew Mew Berries ‘n’ Cream VS M.E.W.
Mutant) Chapter #5 (Revised)
If I had been fully aware when I awakened again, I’m sure I would’ve been annoyed at how many times I managed to pass out in a single day.
Mutant) Chapter #4 (Revised)
I could feel nothing but pain. I tried to open my eyes, but I only saw white. Reality itself was slipping away as I felt the agony take over my mind, nearly driving me insane. Only one thing helped me to hold on. Only one thought: “I need to stay alive. I need to see my family again.” All of my family. Especially my dad. As I felt a momentary awareness come over me, i realized that my body was moving; rather, it was flying horizontally. I was laying on something covered in a thin lining of paper and I was covered in something that smelled like plastic and adhesive. I heard unknown voices yelling to each other at my sides. As I picked up speed, I felt wind rush over my body, chilling me to the bone as the electrical storm continued on, growing worse and worse. An ear splitting shriek split through the air as another bolt rocked my body. I had a feeling that it was my own as I felt my mouth gape and my back jolt up in reaction to the pain. A short burst of air told me that I had entered into a room, and all at once, I stopped flying and my mind disappeared back into oblivion.
Mutant) Chapter # 3 (Revised)
If you’ve ever experienced something called sleep paralysis, you know how terrifying it can be. You cannot move your body; Sometimes, your eyes stay open and your dreams pour out into the real world to torture you as you struggle to fully awaken. It’s as if you are trapped inside of your skin. It’s the purgatory between being asleep and awake.

Mutant) Chapter # 2 (Revised)
By some act of mercy, I didn’t run into anyone in my Biology class all the way up until lunch. I attempted to clean myself up during the in-between of my classes. Though I tried my best, I still had the slight scent of body odor wafting from my being; Every time I got close to someone, they seemed to take a few steps back. When the lunch bell rang, the bustle of students moved towards the lunch room. I watched them all pass me by, joking and giggling together. I tried not to look anyone in the eye as they passed. Once the major flow of students was already in, I made my way towards the courtyard so that I could eat my lunch in peace. No one ever ate there, so I thought it would be the safest bet to survive through the period without anyone causing any more trouble for me.

Mutant) Chapter # 1 (Revised)
Soft rays of light streamed through the only window in the room. They filled the space with the gentle warmth that only comes from the morning sun. It was a beautiful morning. Meanwhile, I laid crooked in my bed, snoring like a behemoth under the mass tangle of sheets. The night before hadn’t been easy on sleep as I was more nervous than a person on death row. After all, I would be waking up to the second semester of school, and there was nothing that excited me about that. I had spent the whole night staring up at my ceiling, contemplating all of the things that could possibly go wrong: I could trip on my way to class and people would laugh at me. I could also get sick and throw up on someone in the hallways…. Then I could also get made fun of during the lunch hour. I’ll eat lunch in the courtyard instead to avoid that. No one goes there… Then there’s also the possibility that I get publicly humiliated in front of the whole school. Yeah, that wouldn’t be good. Thoughts like those kept me up until the wee hours of the night, until finally my anxiety exhausted me to the point where I settled into an unrestful slumber. Then only the nightmares could disturb me. The only good thought I had was that after this school year was over, maybe things would change and we would get out of this stupid town and back to our real one. The town we belonged in. I felt my eyes slowly peel open, my body heavy due to the lack of sleep. I groaned and stretched all of my limbs out, trying to get some energy back into my system. It was difficult to be motivated to get out of bed on a day like this. I slowly reached my hand out and waved it around my bedside table until I found my phone on the edge. Pulling it over to the front of my face, I pressed in the home button to check what time it was. Suddenly, I found the motivation to get out of bed. The second semester of my Sophomore year started in ten minutes. I must’ve been so preoccupied with my thoughts the night before that I completely forgot to set my alarm. With one big heaving motion, I flung my legs out from the bed and onto the floor, simultaneously trying to jump up at the same time; as my feet came in contact with the floor and I attempted to start walking, my sheets tangled around my legs, along with my wavy, knee-length, chestnut-colored hair, causing me to lose my balance. With a yelp, I thudded on to the floor. “JUNIPER?!” I heard my mother cry from downstairs. Oh no. I quickly twisted over to untangle the mass away from my feet and scrambled over to my drawers, tearing out every single article of clothing till I finally found my school uniform crumpled on the bottom of the drawer. I hastily stripped down from my pajamas and yanked my wrinkled grey button-down over my head and pulled up the turquoise pleated skirt up to my waist, not caring to tuck in my shirt, also swiping my round, bottle-cap glasses off of my dresser, as well as a hair tie. As I ran out of my bedroom, I shoved my glasses onto my face and started pulling my crazed hair into a ponytail. It streamed behind me like a flag as I ran down the narrow staircase. Before I even reached the landing, my eyes focused on a figure wearing a bathrobe materializing where the stairs ended. My mother stood before me: arms crossed, mouth scowled, short hair wild with fly-aways, and eyes that burned with the fury that only a mother could possess for her child. I felt my heart drop. “Juniper Rose…” She growled. A clear indicator that my mother was going to lecture me was when she used my full name. “What in the world happened? You were supposed to leave at least twenty minutes ago!” “…’scuse me...,” I mumbled, ducking around her to search for my school uniform’s tie. “Answer me,” she commanded. I flew into the laundry room to grab my socks and shoes, then hastily coming back to the living room and flopping down on the couch to put them on. I could hear the impatient tapping of my mother’s slippers on the ground. “I... I just had a bad night’s sleep. That’s all-“ “Your alarm should’ve woken you up! Did you set it last night? I hesitated in my answer, “…yes?” “You forgot.” She stated, sighing as she walked into the kitchen and opened a cabinet. “Okay, okay. You caught me…” I trailed off, then searching for my book bag somewhere in our coat closet. “Please don’t freak out. It was a mistake.” “I’m not going to freak out, Juniper… I just… I know that you’re afraid to go back to school so- “ “Sorry mom, I’m going to be late!” I cut her off, finding my bag, “Love you, Bye!” I yelled to her, scurrying to and out of the door before she could go on. I heard her muffled voice behind the closed door: “Love you, too…” I came out into the back of our flat. The thing that I loved the most about where we lived was that there was plenty of forest right behind my home for me to explore. I looked longingly at the deep green jungle before me, then having to rip my gaze away so that I could start my sprint to school. Luckily, I lived close so It would take me about ten minutes to get there. Sadly, I was not in the best shape of my life so this would be like running through the valley of death. As I ran down the sidewalks, bustling with the morning crowds of the town, I felt the sweat dripping down my face. The bad thing about living on a tropical island was that the humidity would never let up. About five years ago, my family moved to Okinawa because of my father’s job. He worked for the American military for longer than I was alive, though most of my childhood he was off-duty, so I spent a lot of time with him. We had lived near the same Marine Corps base in Iowa for my whole life prior to coming to this place. That’s where all of my family and friends lived. That’s where my home was, but for the time being, I was stuck here, waiting for my father to come back so that we might be able to finally leave this place. By the time I rounded the last corner to my school, I wheezed with an exhaustion I hadn’t felt in years and I was completely soaked in perspiration. What a great day to not have the time to put on deoderant. I paused for a moment, just long enough to catch my breath before I noticed that, in the distance, the gates to my school were closing. With one last burst of energy, I flew towards them relentlessly, barely being able to squeeze my round stomach inside the small gap before the gates clinked shut behind me. I gasped for air, bending over and resting my hands on my knees. I made it. A miracle had taken place. As my heart rate slowed down, I was able to straighten up and take a few steps forward. That is, until I soon realized that something was pulling on the end of my ponytail. I turned around and moaned in aggravation. My frizzy hair had caught between the tightly sealed gated. I pulled on it frantically as I saw those who remained near the front of the school begin to walk into the doors. Finally, the hair came free, leaving multiple long strands between the clamped metal. I smoothed out the ends of my hair as best as I could as I turned to jog across the grounds and into the glass double doors. Somehow, I managed to make it up the first flight of stairs and down the hallways without dying from over-exertion. I flung down the next hallway where my Biology class was located. My teacher, Ms. Tanaka, was just closing the doors as i came near. “WAIT!” I screamed, holding my hand out desperately. Typically, she did not let anyone who was late into her class. Her head peaked out of the entrance and her eyes widened. “Ms. Tatum, what in the world? -“ “I’m so sorry I’m late.” I cut her off, stumbling into the classroom. Immediately, I felt the eyes of everyone in the classroom on me. A few murmurs and giggles were exchanged and I automatically felt my face get hot. I looked down at myself and realized what they were laughing at: my clothes were almost all the way drenched in my sweat and my hair was frizzed beyond my wildest dreams. All I could do was look down as I made my way to an empty seat near the other side of the classroom. On the way, most likely due to the mixture of not having enough sleep, not eating breakfast- or dinner the night before for that matter- and also sprinting all the way to school, I had a sudden dizzy-spell and tripped over my own feet, barely being able to catch myself on a nearby desk. The boy sitting at it shoved my hand off. “Get your sweaty hand of my desk, nerd.” He growled. I looked at him with tired eyes, pulling my hand up to my chest and then sitting down at my desk. Ms. Tanaka went to the front of the classroom. “Attention, class! I have an announcement,” She declared. “We have a new student joining us for this semester. His family just transferred here a week ago from Wisconsin. Louis, would you please stand up and introduce yourself?” A tall boy who sat in the desk right in front of mine stood up. I hadn’t noticed the new face when I made my entrance. “Uh…” he murmured in a barely audible tone, turning towards the class. He pushed away a strand of straight, blond hair covering his rectangular glasses. “My name is uh-Louis Mache. It’s nice meeting- I mean… it’s nice to meet you all.” He stuttered, then sitting back down. Ms. Tanaka thanked him and the lesson began without hesitation. The lecture portion began to become background noise to me as all of the mistakes I had already made started to roll around in my head. Hungry, tired, nervous, and feeling like a complete fool, I shrunk into my seat and quietly mulled over how much of an idiot I was. Thankfully, I wasn’t missing much of the lesson as I had already studied up everything I could in our textbook over winter break. Technically I could’ve ended the semester right then and there if only they gave me the final test. Lots of science courses came naturally to me. It was basically the only thing I prided myself on; It was the one thing I believed myself to be good at, the only thing that made me stand out as an individual. Before, when I lived in Iowa, my knowledge of science got me all of my friends. They thought I was cool for knowing so much and they all hung around me because of it. It wasn’t like that anymore, but I still tried to impress my class in the hope that someday they would see me as more than an uncoordinated nerd. Ms. Tanaka raised a question for the class. I raised up my hand, knowing the answer off of the top of my head. Another chance. Maybe I could at least impress the new guy into thinking I was something, considering my first impression on him was probably not the best. I was about to answer her without even looking up, considering no one ever bothered to raise their hand during class, but Ms. Tanaka started speaking before I could even open my mouth, “Yes, Louis?” She called. Confused, I shifted my gaze to the boy, he was slightly slouched over, but he held his hand high. I dropped my hand as he answered. His voice was more sure than when he had introduced himself. It intimidated me a little bit, but I didn’t let it show. There would be more questions anyway. No need to get flustered over one missed shot. But no. This day just had to get worse, didn’t it? Every single time there was a question asked, Louis’s hand shot straight up and he was called on. I realized that this might’ been because of his height, after all he looked at least a foot taller than me when he was standing. I attempted to raise my hand up higher to combat this, but when I exposed my armpit, the girl sitting to my right started waving her hand over her nose dramatically and everyone around her did as well. That deterred me from raising my hand any higher than my shoulder. I began to get frustrated. The period was almost over and the class and I had been breathing in my B.O. for almost two hours now. Not to mention my hunger doubled as well as my tiredness. Ms. Tanaka asked one final question before our class time was up, and I decided to just go for it. I stood up in a shot, simultaneously raising my hand and also scooting my squeaky chair back a few feet so that it banged against the desk behind mine. I felt quite brave at that moment, but it all faded when the dizziness came back and the classroom went black around me. The first thing that came back to me was my hearing. I could pick out voices surrounding me, some asking what had happened, some still teasing. I heard my teacher frantically calling out my name. “Juniper?? Juniper! Wake up! Are you alright? Juniper!” Knowing that I needed to show some sign that I was okay, I regretfully opened my eyes. The whole class was around me, gawking. I was laying in the isle next to my desk, legs splayed out in an un-ladylike fashion and my hair blanketing most of my body. “What… happened?” I asked, bemoaning. Ms. Tanaka was kneeled beside me, looking at me with concern. “You fainted, dear.” She said as sweetly as she could. A few muffled snickers rumbled throughout the class. “Are you going to be okay? Do you need to go to the nurse?” “No… I just… haven’t eaten anything in a while. I’ll be fine.” I sighed, getting up slowly. I heard a voice chuckling to my right. The boy who shoved my hand off of his desk leaned over to Louis. “Probably trying to go on a diet because of how fat she is,” Ms. Tanaka gave the kid a sharp glance. “Thomas, you just earned a detention because of that little remark.” He rolled his eyes. Soon enough, people became unconcerned with my well-being and started to make their way out of classes. Ms. Tanaka made me sit down on her desk as she got me something that would raise my blood-sugar levels. I didn’t care to look anyone in the eye as they passed me by. I heard a few hesitant footsteps on their way out, an occasional shifting of backpacks as people turned to look at me. No one said anything though. That is, until almost everyone was out of the room. “Hey…” I heard the soft voice call out. I looked up slightly, curious if it was another person trying to cut me down. It was Louis. “What?” I grumbled. He hesitated. “Well… um… nothing.” And he walked away.
hey! the correct punctuation used for the title would be 'n' since each apostrophe shows the ommission of a letter! Toys 'r' Us does the same! i'm suuuper excited about the announcement, by the way! i know you're working hard and i really feel it's all gonna pay off in a BIG way!
