Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with Kingās Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive sheās been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isnāt even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isnāt allowed. Itās fascinating to me.
you know what, "because i'm in pain" is a good enough reason as any. why do you want to take meds? in pain. why do you wanna cancel? in pain. why didn't you want to talk? in pain. yeah don't be a jerk to everyone you meet and expect them to welcome that. but why were you being a jerk? in pain. it's a reasonable explanation. being in pain should be enough of an explanation. it should be considered an immediate problem that we try to fix as soon as possible instead of expecting the vast majority of people alive to just get on with it.
when the conversation is women talking about how much weight they want to lose or what cosmetic surgeries they would get done
I'm addicted to removing inane captions from otherwise good posts
I've always wanted to fuck her
they think they look so fucking cool

I think itās time to revive a classic
I hate you Ozempic craze I hate you 'heroin chic' I hate you weight loss ads on public radio I hate Burn Fat Fast ads every thirty seconds I hate you I hate you I hate you
Itās a nightmare cause in the waiting room of my doctors office instead of health info it was ads for like 4 different GLP drugs PLUS a serum to help āozempic faceā which is what happens to your face if you loose weight too fast. Everything sags, your eyes get sunken. Also lots of people have gone blind on it, thereās a big lawsuit in the works. I hate how we rubberbanded so hard from body positivity, and now people are using it in their defense in a ādonāt shame me because I look like a skeleton for taking this drug when I wasnāt overweight in the first placeā
As always I must add that people whose health conditions makes them skinny/requires careful weight management is not a bad thing and Iām not slamming that, itās just thisā¦. I donāt even have words anymore. This.
And fuck all the new āglp friendlyā branding on food reminding people they need to eat protein or the drug will fuck them up worse
people with medical reasons to take glp drugs are also getting fucked over by this.
my mom has medical issues which cause her to gain a lot of weight which is nigh impossible to lose. when the ozempic craze started, she could not get the drugs she needed, and (shocker) she gained a lot of weight which ended up fucking her joints.
luckily she's on a new drug which is a bit more acessible, but she's still dealing with occasional shortages. because random people who don't need it are taking it away from those that do.
