People who make Naruto Overly O.P., Dark, or Intelligent while shitting on Sasuke and treating him like an emo little brat :/

Like, go ahead and make Naruto broody and intelligent, I won’t pester you on just that alone, but is it necessary to bash Sasuke? I enjoy O.P. characters as much as the next person, but there’s really no reason to bash a character just to make Naruto look better. That’s just plain bad writing.

A writer can obviously not like Sasuke, but sometimes a genuinely good fan fiction is ruined by how they constantly insult and demean Sasuke. Obviously with Naruto being god-like and dark means that others would be significantly more weaker, but instead of expanding on this idea, the author spends the entire story bashing on one or multiple character.

my fave thing about fics like these is they make naruto…basically just like sasuke, and then shit on sasuke for being the way he is. because sasuke is intelligent, dark, and tends to be lost in his thoughts, and naruto is none of those things. it’s not even bad writing, it’s just a tantrum.

It is ridiculous how "acknowledging Naruto" has become some sort of currency in the series. Characters are rated by how "first" they were to see Naruto as someone special. It is so very important how close they stand to him in the picture when he recalls all his bonds. If a person noticed him earlier, then he is better\more influential\more important. If a character has to be elevated, he is given a scene of how he was there even earlier in Naruto’s past. (1\3)

It all started with Iruka being first and only. When it was time to introduce K11, Kishi showed how Shikamaru and Kiba pranked and skipped classes with Naruto. When time for SNS drama came we started seeing scenes with little Naruto and Sasuke competing and noticing each other. Kishi made a big emphasis on how Jiraya was actually there for Naruto before he was born, something like a grandpa, though the dude just vanished afterwards. And well now that NH has to bullshit its way into the manga(2\3

they did it by creating a childhood scene. I understand that Naruto is mc, but this is ridiculous. His past can’t stretch wide enough to include all those characters who have to be elevated without losing “I was so lonely” vibe. And the list of “first bonds” just changes according to current drama needs and causes arguments in the fandom of who was the ACTUAL first and important one. But the whole “first=better” is generally wrong. (3\3)

Also, NS used to write big meta about Sakura acknowledging Naruto was a monumental character development for her. I’m just like it’s bound to happen at some point, this series is about naruto collecting acknowledgement for himself. 

You’re right, the fandom have turned this into a competition about who gave naruto acknowledgment first. Why’re you folks so desperate to see your fav become a naruto stan? 

I agree being first doesn’t equate to being better or more important. It’s equally likely people you meet later in life can provide more fulfilling relationship. Who cares who’s there first??

I’d also like to add Kishimoto has turned “acknowledgment” into sorta a equivalent of love in this series. But admiration isn’t love. I can understand why Kishimoto would confuse the two, his hunger for validation from others is far more intense than other kinda emotional attachment he has with people, so he thinks this is “bond” and love.

This fandom have written some really long and often bogus meta about ships and “healthy” relationship, but I’ve yet to seen a serious meta about how problematic is the idea that you have to acknowledge a person in order to be precious to them. You can literally shut down NH’s argument by saying admiration isn’t love, but most of the shippers can’t do that cos Kishimoto’s stupid idea about acknowledgement and love is found in every ship involving naruto.

Your argument that NaruHina stole tropes from SasuNaru is a strawman. Naruto stating he always admired Sasuke from the back since the beginning, back in Part 1 at the Final Valley was pretty much the same thing Hinata did back in Chuunin Exams and Sasuke later on by the end of Part 2 said the same thing in his final battle with Naruto. NaruHina is basically SasuNaru's predessecor.

Mutual admiration is a sns trope. One sided admiration is a nh trope. Is that what you’re saying? Ok then. XDDD. Naruto’s admiration for sasuke is mixed with Jealousy and resentment, so much that he hated him a bit, it’s nothing like Hinata’s simple fangirling, precursor my ass. His ‘admiration’ is closer to what sasuke felt for itachi, fraught with rivalry and insecurity.

Another Ino vs Sakura rant......

I’ve noticed 2 paralleling scenes:

Now these scenes take place within weeks/a month apart so its safe to say that this is a good indication of what both of their mindsets on love were at the time

So you see Ino from the get go is kind of taken with Sai and with Sakura and the love letter ninja, she outright says she’s already taken 

knowing full well that Sasuke isn’t even romantically interested in her ESPECIALLY at the moment when he is evil. 

In fact, later on, Sasuke says this:

So what I’m saying is that no matter what, at this point, Sakura thinks she has Sasuke in the bag, like eventually he’ll return her feelings and they’ll be together no matter what Sasuke’s side of it is. She thinks that enough to turn down other guys who are interested

Now compare this to Ino:

she openly flirts with Sai. Even though she loves Sasuke she knows that there is a possibility that he might not feel the same so why not try other guys if she’s attracted to them? She clearly hasn’t bet everything in the world on a life with Sasuke like Sakura has. 

A lot of people call Ino a slut for this but seriously which would you prefer????

someone who can’t take “no” for an answer????? Someone who tries to guilt you into a relationship with them?

She didn’t reject Sai, she didn’t make him wait until she sorted her feelings for Sasuke, she jumped right on in because she KNEW if Sasuke wanted her, he’d put as much effort into getting her attention and love as Sai did which is how it SHOULD be. 

Sasuke knew how Ino felt about him and he clearly didn’t care so why should she????

and the thing is, Sasuke clearly didn’t come back. If Sakura had to chase him down after 2 ½ years of zero contact then Sasuke clearly didn’t care about starting a relationship with her either. 

I mean look at this, Sakura considers 2 ½ minutes a “date” while Sai literally went out, bought a book, and researched how to take a girl on a date and I’m assuming it was to impress Ino.

Kishimoto: Sakura is addicted to Sasuke.

So we finally know why Sasuke is always away, he’s trying to help Sakura get off her addiction to him by putting himself out of her reach. 12 years of rehab, Sakura is still not clean.

Something along the lines of “Damn, I don’t really feel like settling down or anything like that, but Itachi wanted me to rebuild the clan (also Konoha could use some more Sharingan users, and I kinda owe it to them for all the mess I had caused), and Sakura seems so addicted to me she won’t ever move on, so I guess I’ll plant a single child in her – she’ll have somebody to look after, Konoha will have an asset, and I’ll be free to roam the world. Nope. That’s nowhere close to what happened in canon (and yes, we know how it happened in canon thanks to the side novels, which are Kishimoto-certified canon).

To begin with, if anything, Konoha owes Sasuke. While Sasuke certainly did his fair share of awful things, the Uchiha massacre only happened thanks to Konoha politics. Itachi, who was a thirteen-year-old child at the time, was more or less blackmailed by the Konoha elders (including and especially Danzo) into slaughtering the Uchiha clan because they felt threatened by them. Sasuke lost his entire family when he was seven-years-old because those in power in Konoha felt threatened by said family. Yes, Sasuke—as an extremely traumatized teenager raised to be a soldier—did bad things, but the things he did in no way compare to the fact that grown adults called for the extermination of an entire clan of people simply because they felt threatened by said clan. Sasuke doesn’t owe Konoha anything, much less more children that they can use, abuse, and discard. If anything, they owe him. 

Second, Itachi never wanted Sasuke to rebuild the clan. Itachi wanted Sasuke to be happy. Granted, Itachi did a rather shit job of this considering he made sure to re-traumatize Sasuke when he returned to Konoha for the first time in the manga, but it’s nonetheless what he always expressed that he wanted. Sasuke is aware of this, because Itachi told him as such in the last conversations they had together. Rebuilding the clan was what Sasuke said he wanted when he was twelve-years-old and longing for a family. Itachi never said any such thing. With that said, Sasuke also seemed to change his mind as he grew older. One of the main criticisms of Sasuke’s character is that his plans seem to change all the time. After the timeskip, Sasuke never talks about wanting to rebuild his clan. He talks about wanting political revolution in order to ensure that something like the Uchiha massacre never happens again, and he talks about killing those who matter to him so that he won’t be held back by his bonds, but he never talks about wanting to rebuild his clan again. Actually, given everything he has learned about the history of the Uchiha clan and how ninja governments such as Konoha’s view them, I’d rather think the fact that he never brings it up again means that his feelings on that have quite changed.

Even if they hadn’t, though, the idea that Sasuke would need to go to Sakura for that is absurd. Karin is a woman that Sasuke actually had a bond with (he chose her himself to be a part of his team, at one point he risked his own life to save hers, and while he did pull that unforgivable nonsense of running her through to get to Danzo, Kishimoto had them patch that up, so her feelings for him are still strong), and she has feelings for him as well. If he did want a family (which he doesn’t), it would make far more sense for him to start one with Karin rather than Sakura. That aside, rebuilding a clan requires a lot more than just one kid. Sasuke would need to make lots of different Uchiha babies with many different women if he wanted to rebuild the clan. He’d need to knock up not only Karin and/or Sakura, but also women all over the globe, and then have those babies all hook up with each other. (And yes, that’s gross, but like the purebloods in Harry Potter, logical reasoning follows that the Uchiha—and clans like them, such as the Hyuuga—have a strong foundation of incest. There’s a reason why they all look so similar, particularly since Hinata’s and Naruto’s children prove that even having one (1) non-related parent drastically changes the visible characteristics of the children.) Having one child is not enough to rebuild the clan. The Uchiha genes would be filtered out within a generation or two. If Sasuke had any desire whatsoever to rebuild the clan, he would have kept at it. But he didn’t, because he doesn’t.

Third, again, the novels tell us exactly what happened. Specifically, Sakura’s novel tells us exactly what happened. In Sakura’s novel, we learn that although Sakura has been accomplishing things in Konoha such as building a clinic for children affected by war, she has also spent quite a lot of time feeling envious of Hinata for having attention given to her by Naruto, as well as even feeling envious of Ino for having her relationship with Sai. She talks with Ino about it a bit, and of course the subject of Sasuke comes up. Sakura is depressed because she’s not with Sasuke, because Sasuke is off on his redemption mission, and told her that she could not come along with him when she asked (as we saw at the end of the manga). Of course, he not only told her she couldn’t come along with her; he flat out rejected her with that forehead poke, just as Itachi used to always reject him with that forehead poke, but Sakura didn’t understand that. She misunderstood it so hard that she thinks she still has a chance with him. As a result, she’s depressed.

In any case, over the course of the novel, someone impersonates Sasuke using some sort of transformation jutsu / pill (I can’t remember the specifics of this), and at some point he kidnaps Sakura. Sakura is briefly fooled, but she eventually realizes that this is not Sasuke. This particular conflict gets resolved, but the important bit is that it’s during this part of the novel that Sakura has an epiphany. Sakura realizes that she does not want to give up on Sasuke. She also realizes that she doesn’t want to wait for Sasuke. And she also realizes that she does not care if Sasuke does not want to be with her, because she wants to be with him, and therefore, she will have him no matter how many times he tells her “no.” She specifically says that no matter how many times Sasuke rejects her, she’s going to keep pushing him to accept her until he finally does. She refuses to take his “no” for an answer.

In other words, the only one who used someone else in this relationship is Sakura. Sakura continuously stalked, harassed, and pushed him until she wore him down and he said yes. Despite the fact that Sasuke spent 699 chapters rejecting her—despite the fact that he made it clear that he was not, in any form, interested in having any kind of relationship with her—Sakura’s grand epiphany and takeaway from her novel was that she needed to keep pushing and pressuring him until he gave in. And you know what? It apparently worked. Sakura managed to pressure Sasuke into sex (though not a kiss; Sarada Gaiden makes it clear that he didn’t kiss her during this act), and when she did and he finally gave in, that’s when she allegedly got pregnant with Sarada. At that point she continued to follow him around, despite how it would have been safer for her baby for her to return to Konoha (because Sakura never actually cared about the baby; she only cared about getting Sasuke like she wanted), and that’s when Sarada was born in one of Orochimaru’s bases. Only then did Sakura return to Konoha, because there was no way she could continue to pursue Sasuke (who again, didn’t want her) while she was also carting around an infant.

So no, Sasuke did not take advantage of Sakura’s “addiction.” Sakura used that addiction to relentlessly stalk and harass Sasuke until he gave in and had sex with her. She stalked and pressured him into sex, got a baby out of it, and then proceeded to still prioritize her desire for Sasuke over the well-being of that child (to the point where she’s willing to abuse said child for daring to question her relationship with Sasuke, as seen in the first chapter of Sarada Gaiden when she screams at and punches the earth hard enough to destroy their house because Sarada got a little mouthy). Sasuke has been a bad father to Sarada for true (though it’s a little hard to really blame him for this considering he never wanted her in the first place and was pressured into the sex that conceived her), but he can’t be blamed for not being a good husband to Sakura, because he never wanted to be with her in the first place. Instead, she forced herself on him again, and again, and again until he was too tired to keep saying “no.” According to the novels (which were approved by Kishimoto himself), that’s canon. Sasuke’s not the one in the wrong here. Sakura is. Their genders don’t change that.

Just thinking about that first day when Team 7 was formed and…Sasuke went THRU IT that day. First, he is put on the team with the worst student in class who had a vendetta against him since forever for no reason and a fake no-one-special fangirl whose always trying to get his goodies. Then while minding his own business–like always–Naruto gets in his face and kisses him (accidentally but Sasuke didn’t know that!) without his permission, while Sakura silently plotted to do the same thing. Next, he couldn’t even enjoy lunch in peace before Naruto ties him up and tries to frame Sasuke with his shenanigans. When Sasuke gets free, Sakura spews microaggressions about orphans in front of him. Neither one of them said sorry. Lastly he has to wait with these same people–who have been nothing but intrusive and disrespectful–for the last sensei to show up and it’s Kakashi who seems to give as much of a fuck about leading a genin team as he does about being punctual. By the end of the day Sasuke probably believed Iruka hated him. 

–Also add that the next day ended with a grown-ass ninja sitting on him and putting his dirty feat on his head while threatening to kill him.

Yes, they were absent during the Kyuubi attack. But not because they decided to be, the reason why they weren’t during the attack and why they didn’t help their comrades was because Dänzo didn’t trust them around the Kyübi (a tailed beast that they could control with their Sharingan), so he asked Hirüzen (who wasn’t the Hokage by that time, but Minato was absent because of Naruto’s birth) to keep the Uchiha away from the Kyübi so they couldn’t control it and, hence, take the power of Konoha.

So yeah, it’s true that they weren’t there, but they were obliged to stay away by two men who didn’t trust them and fomented the hate from the village towards them because they were too scared of their power and were educated by the second Hokage, someone in a weird love/hate/obsessed relationship with the Uchiha and, as in any relationship that contains obsession, one seeks to dominate the other, to such extent that when he couldn’t, he made sure to condemn them through the generations.

Hokage and Nepotism

They always say that the Hokage is chosen by both power, leadership and wisdom, but why is it that every single Hokage is somehow connected to other another? Family is especially common.

The First and Second were brothers.

The Third was a student of the Second.

The Fourth was the student of the Third’s student, meaning Jiraiya had influence in the decision. Orochimaru was also Hiruzen’s student, even though he was ultimately passed over. Minato was also married to Kushina, who was a member of the Uzumaki clan, giving him relations to the Senju as well.

The Fifth is the student of the Third, the Granddaughter of the First, and Grandniece of the Second.

The Sixth is a student of the Fourth. Danzo was almost of the Sixth, and was the friend of the Third and was always favored by the Elders who were also friends of the Third and students of the Second. Even though he had to mind control his way to the spot, he was still heavily considered before anyone else.

The Seventh is the son of the Fourth, is the student of the Sixth as well as his father’s mentor, and has blood relations to the First, Second and Fifth.

Konohamaru will likely be the Eighth Hokage, and he is the grandson of the Third and was mentored by the Seventh and trains his son.

Sarada will likely be the Nineth. She is the daughter of the Seventh’s best friend(s), will be married to the Seventh’s son, and is the student of the future Eighth.

Of these, only Kakashi is the only without some kind of family relation, and Kakashi, Sarada and Minato are without blood relations.

But sure, the title of Hokage is given fairly to those who always truly deserve it, with nooooo personal feelings or relations involved whatsoever. What a joke.

I’m against the Will of Fire

Alright, as this blog might suggest, I like Naruto as a series. However, there was always something that bugged about this whole Will of Fire thing. I thought it’d be fun to share some thoughts about it. I have five major reasons not to like the concept. Here they are!

1. The world we see in Naruto has pretty awful economic system. Basically, it is expected that there’s some sort of a conflict between nations all the time and there’s also pretty vicious cycle of professional killers feeding it without questioning what they’re doing. All every shinobi does in the series is to interfere with village/country X’s business and because there are these village/country Y’s people doing that, village/country X feels need to provide more military forces to deal with village/country Y and round and round we go.

2. Shinobis can’t leave the village they were raised in. So, let’s say that there’s this shinobi John from the Village Hidden in the Salt. One day John decides that he’s done with being a shinobi and he actually wants to live his life in the Village Hidden in Mine. Now, this doesn’t sit well with the system that has raised John. You see, John is quite dangerous person after years of military training. If he leaves, he’s a threat to Salt which is why Salt doesn’t have other choice but to put John on bingo book.

3. Will of Fire is patriotic propaganda. To prevent John from leaving the Hidden Salt, the village needs to convince John to think that what he’s doing is the absolutely right thing to do. He’s protecting the village. The problem here is that all the inhabitants of the Hidden Salt are professional killers, however. They are all ”protecting” the village whatever that means. They aren’t protecting each other despite the fact that their friends/family/people they find actually worth protecting have a fair chance to be ninjas themselves and the first rule of this propaganda is that you must be willing to sacriface your life for your village anytime. Now, I get that protecting the civilians is also what these poor unfortunate souls do, but really, ”protecting a village” sounds pretty ironic. In fact, it sounds like a really sad joke to me. However, this kind of propaganda is probably used right now in warzones, so, yeah.. It works. I should maybe do another post explaining why I’m a pacifist.

4. Now, it is said that you should start doing stuff at young age to maximize your potential. Shinobis start training as children. Remember the point 2? Yeah, John can’t ever leave the village he was trained in because of a decission he made in his early childhood. I can totally see why decades of patriotic propaganda has made being a pro killer seem like a good idea to a child. It’s sad that the decission on career is made so early. Why I’m still so salty about Naruto’s ending

Naruto is my current One True Fandom despite the series having its own flaws. I actually like some plotholes. They’re great for some serious theorycrafting. I also like the characters that are often described as scumbags and I also kind of like characters that are acting somewhat irrationally because nothing is more fun than trying to understand them. In fact, many ”flaws” have much value for a writer. However, it’s not a secret that I’m still not too happy about Naruto’s ending.

Black Zetsu and Kaguya weren’t exactly my cup of tea but I think I could’ve been fine with them even though I really wanted Madara to be the final villain just like everyone else and their mom. However, that wasn’t why I’m still so salty about the ending. What really annoyed me was that after Naruto and Sasuke had their final battle, nothing Sasuke ever said about the failed shinobi system was taken into consideration. Like, hello Naruto, you just had this huge war and you learned nothing?!?

It would’ve been just so epic if Naruto started to see actually where Sasuke (and in some sense both Obito and Madara) was coming from. They should’ve found a compromise, maybe decided that they should change the system together. Naruto could’ve made Sasuke’s approach a bit less radical while Sasuke could’ve opened Naruto’s eyes finally. The shinobi system was absolute trash and it was, in fact, the main focus for some time. I would’ve loved to see some conclusion instead of tossing aside every point every villain of the series ever made.

Now, I know my statement brings nothing new to the table but I just watched Naruto vs. Sasuke again and got so pissed off that I needed to make a post.

Boruto is the reason why we can’t have nice things

Since it doesn’t take a lot of convincing for me to be publicly salty about the Naruto ending, here we are again. Being super salty.

It’s not a secret that I’m against the Will of Fire since it’s basically war propaganda. How else you’d convince anyone who isn’t seriously disturbed to make their living out of killing? You have to make it sound Absolutely Awesome, the Right Thing to Do. Perhaps that’s what everyone (except ”evil” people, ‘cause apparently having a brain means you’re a villain, especially if your surname is Uchiha. Better luck with that revolution next lifetime, Sasuke.) thinks since it’s the idea that’s been around for ages and I don’t think that the Academy’s curriculum consists of basic critical thinking.

But…

We know for a fact that the shinobi system was created by Zetsu to resurrect his mother. In fact, all shinobi knew that they were mere tools and one could think that after learning all of this, everyone would want the system to change.

Now, I do get that changing a society, let alone the entire world isn’t easy and maybe we can give the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe they had this Project Runaway situation where people were given a huge pile of crap and the ninja Tim Gunn was like: ”Make it work!”

But no one made it work.

The key to the change is to ensure that the next generation will learn from the mistakes that the previous generation made. That’s not what we see. Instead, during Naruto’s reign children are still trained to be soldiers and the old war heroes are still glorified. C'mon, Naruto, you had one job. One. You were our only hope. You were supposed to make sure that during your reign kids wouldn’t have to fight and risk their lifes for the sake of being heroic if nothing else.

But then we see the most disappointing movie ever where it’s up to some brat to save the day again.

All of this could’ve been avoided if someone hadn’t thought: “Let’s make a sequel!” Naruto could’ve been the hero without the Boruto franchise. He could’ve re-created the system with Sasuke. They were powerful enough to pull it off. But nope. Naruto becomes a depressed middle-aged man whose soul is slowly eaten by the system he has seen to fail over and over again. Yet, he keeps it alive and sleeps on a couch whenever he’s at home.

Honestly, that’s how I refine the word lame.

that’s what annoys me, you know. that if sasuke was a female, the whole story would be seen very differently. naruto’s threats to break her bones, sakura’s harassment, kakashi attempting to guilt her with sakura’s feelings, it’d not be acceptable to people. because he’s male, it is.

it’s so fucking frustrating, I want to shake them. is this what you think love is supposed to look like? these people haven’t even had a goddamn conversation with him since they were twelve, what do they know about him?

I almost wanna write it. what you mentioned, specifically; sasuke realizing she was pregnant. I don’t know if I could, honestly, because it’d be horrifying.

at least he didn’t have to deal with that.

so my hot take for today is that naruto hides his emotions just as much, if not more, than sasuke does. he just does it expertly. while sasuke isnt exactly subtle in the way he shut himself down and off from the world and manages to answer uncomfortable questions with unemotional reactions, naruto hides his detachment with a bright smile and forced charisma. like naruto does have a caring heart towards his friends, but there are some glimpses of his personality that not everyone has seen before. i believe its important to go through their notable characteristics and see how different they are from each other sometimes, but there are also some equally relevant parts of them that needs to be taken into consideration.

Proof of OP’s concept can be found after the Pein Invasion when Naruto feels awkward and resentful of the sudden turnaround from “village pariah” to “village hero” and covers it up…only later for Kishimoto to reveal how deeply angry he is about it with an appearance from Naruto’s literal dark side.

this is only loosely related so sorry if its a tangent - but i feel like its deeply tied to how both of them process their emotions and traumas respectively.

sasuke, to be frank, really wallows in his feelings. very specifically his negative ones that he’s decided are his duty to feel - his continued pain is just as much a part of his duties as acted out revenge is. so while he certainly is one to hide positive emotion from himself, i think he always allows negative. and then only at certain points (early shippuden primarily) does he really work to hide negative from others, either.

naruto on the other hand is the KING of repression. even when we see him most caught up in his issues - part 1 before he has a real support network - it doesnt seem to be understood by him, really, just constant lashing out and searching for any solution. as it progresses, he gets even less of that expression of negative issues, because he starts to hide it not only from himself, but also others.

tl;dr it varies over time, but the short of it is sasuke hides his feelings from others, especially positive - naruto hides his from himself, especially negative.

I’m going to set my toe into the naruto discourse to talk about sasuke and nart

like, the quality of kishimoto’s and kodachi’s writing aside, sasuke is kind of garbage?

Whether he’s in a loving relationship or not, he very much comes from the son goku school of marriage, specifically, “HELP WHAT IS WIFE HOW DO I FATHER???” so when people are citing his absence from his daughter’s life as proof that he belongs with naruto, i wanna say, r u sure bout that bro? This is a dude whose approach to his affection towards naruto was “try to kill him to make it stop.”

I’m not saying this as someone who’s for one ship or another, just someone who thinks fucking off to god knows where after getting hitched is a very sasuke thing to do, and being hitched to somebody he loved more would not automatically fix that flaw in his character.

Sure it’s not fair to sakura, but that’s also a whole other can of worms, that i don’t particularly feel like touching, but really just boils down to the series not having a particularly deft touch with its female characters.

aw, poor naruto, he chased down a man who’s been asking him to fuck off and leave him alone for five years begging him to return to a village with people in political power that killed his entire ethnic bloodline so they could harvest the corpses for their body parts while citing a friendship that he cut off when they were twelve, and eventually he came to the conclusion that the only way to get naruto to leave him the fuck alone was to kill him.

poor them, they’re so put upon by this man who, in canon, dropped literally everything to chase down someone he glimpsed who just might have been a person he adored, even though it was impossible. a man who, in canon, is extremely truthful of what he feels for those he loves, telling one that he was perfect and that he adored him and wanted him to stay and telling the other that he was his only friend.

poor them. surely it’s all sasuke’s fault. surely.
