Think Birmingham is solely dedicated to the Dadrock of Ocean Colour Scene and the beach-tinged perfection of Peace? Think again, my friend.
"The Taboo Club‘s coquettish jazz funk could soundtrack David Lynch’s version of The Mask – all bulging veins, swinging arms and evil tongues. Their most recent single, the blaspheming bile of ‘Bible John’, will send its followers straight to Hell, but what a lovely way to burn."
Big love to the folks at Counteract for featuring us in this wonderful piece about the Second City 🔪🌹 x

Birmingham's sultry rockers The Taboo Club bring their sax-drenched delights to The Victoria, with support from Liquid Cheeks and Lilac Noise.
''Those already familiar with The Taboo Club will understand they cock their stylistic snoot up at the term ‘half-measures’. Their performance promised to be much more than a meat and potatoes slab of ambulant indie, and more a showcase of both their musical pedigree and rather lurid aesthetic. Ergo, the sight of guests donning decadent masks, sipping prosecco and dressing in the kind of finery usually reserved for a Chelsea members’ club all seems somewhat fitting.''
Thanks so much to Samuel Lambeth for capturing our first headline performance so eloquently and in such charming fashion in this piece for Counteract.
Frisch gegründet in diesem Jahr machen The Taboo Club "dunkle" Musik mit ganz eigenen Stil, der ganz klar aus der Masse sticht. Großartig.
''Genres are mixed and boundaries consciously crossed, always on the way to create something new.''
Danke to Germany based babes Dark Life Experience who have kindly given us our first foreign language review 🇩🇪🌹️

''Music to be played on a jukebox, late at night, in a shadowy bar at the edge of the town where all the lonely ones look for a bit of comfort.''

''‘Strangers’ is a touch of red velvet class to come out of the Birmingham music scene – a true musical fusion without the hubris or hangover of years at the Conservatoire.''
A wonderful piece about our debut single ‘Strangers’ by Birmingham Review x
A blog about little indie stuff, emerging music in the indie genre.
''It is undoubtedly a classy affair, standing aside from much of what we are used to hearing out of B-town.''
Thank you so much to Little Indie Blogs for the gracious review of our debut single, as well as making it their track of the day x
