I think it's important that you know:
I met David Karp tonight and he was wearing a ‘No it’s Becky’ t-shirt.
It was everything I ever dreamed it would be.
Yes I’m still wearing it

This is your social media cheat sheet for perfectly sized images. You’re welcome. [via]

Clean the shit from your FB with Ajax.
I'm not even kidding. This brand wants to help you 'unlike' other brands on FB in an effort to help you 'clean up your life.'
They don't even ask you to 'like' Ajax's FB page as part of the process.
Gen Y's growin’ up, buying houses and makin’ babies - and this promo demonstrates that Ajax is totally in touch with that.
Turns out I 'like' 545 brand/product pages and after a good Ajax clean (and some sweet 'cloth swiping' animation action) I'm down to 279.
Cheers Ajax.
For those interested in having a play, you can do the same with your Twitter account too.

The Future of Retailing
In response to the rising tide of online shopping, Macy’s is overhauling its flagship New York City store—with the goal of making it the most technologically advanced and compelling shopping destination anywhere. Macy’s and IBM teamed up this year to give a tour to retail industry influencers and reveal some of the insights from IBM’s annual retail consumer survey.
Eggcellent stuff
How do you sell eggs? Puns of course.
I really love this 'Yolk of the Month' Sunny the Egg FaceBook app by Sunny Queen Farms & BCM.
Users are asked to submit an egg-related joke (yolk). All jokes are performed by 'Sunny The Egg' at his virtual comedy club, where other users can rate the joke;
1) Eggscruciating
2) Rotten egg
3) Quite eggmusing
4) Eggcelent
5) Total cracker
Cringey in a dad joke kinda way. You want to hear more so you can groan, while giggling on the inside.
Thanks to BCM, an egg is not just an egg - Sunny the Egg is a dude with well earned FB cred.
Makes me want to poach something.
See what else BCM is doing for Sunny Queen Farms on FB here.
The #selfie capital named & shamed
Today at Mumbrella360 I attended a research presentation on one of the world’s fastest-growing social media platform - our beloved instagram.
The session, presented by The Works creative partner Douglas Nico, outlined the findings from the biggest ever study into Australians’ use of the platform and what its implications are for brands.
There were a lot of good take-outs;
Coffee/food took up the #1 image type posted in 2012 (#foodstagram #coffee - expected).
Peak posting hours are 8pm weekdays and 5pm Sundays (we're not instagraming on the boss' clock - v.good).
The Gold Coast was awarded the 'Selfie Capital' for posting 26% of Australia's 'selfies' in 2012. Followed closely by Brisbane and Sydney both at 23%.
Look, I'm not shocked.
Nico also had some interesting things to say about a brand's priorities when it comes to instagram. Is it the profile or the #? The answer is - it depends on your business type, but nobody can deny the power of the #. In Nico's words - "You're entering a much wider conversation."
The Twitterverse: Hope is bright
It's times like VIVID that make me proud to be a Sydney-sider. It doesnt matter how long or tiresome my day has been at work, in these two special weeks of visual bliss, my walk from the office to the train station is more of wide-eyed floating and touching things then the standard, headphones in ears, introverted reflection on a day's passing.
Every evening last week I walked through this incredible Twitter reactive (#hopesforchange) LED light tunnel. It's a joint venture by DW and The Benevolent Society. People are invited to share their hopes for the future of Australia’s children and the more people that share, the more dynamic the lighting effects become. When I said I 'walked' through the tunnel, I must clarify - it was more of a shuffle-while-looking-down-tweeting-looking-up-looking-down-tweeting-looking-up.
Powerful stuff.

Google win again with multi-screen gaming
The newest Google Chrome Experiment out of the UK brings us Super Sync Sports and a reason (if we needed one) to download Chrome as the browser of choice onto our devices.
Users are invited to use their device as a game controller by downloading the browser and syncing to their desktop in 2 easy steps.
You can invite and compete against up to 3 friends with adorably hilarious character options who can cycle, swim and run.
If all your friends are working (like mine) you can play against the computer. The game had me attempting the most awkward of finger motions on my iphone screen just to get my banana across the finishing line. My colleague ended up snapping and grabbing the iphone off me, beating the ice-cream, bird and moose, and finishing first. Thanks Google for making me feel unco.

A++ would play again!

Wild gamification
How do you encourage repeat visitation to a water theme park? NFC gaming of course. Visual Jazz Isobar did just that with the Wet N Wild 'Summer Games.' A 10 day daredevil challenge.
Sign up for a team, choose the most daring slide you can hack and tap your NFC wristband for points.
The pre social campaign was a cool touch to hype up the concept, with teams asked to rally their social networks to 'support them.' The team with the most support was awarded a head start on the day.
These guys took out the iab creative showcase award for April with this one.

#GENIUSPUSSY(?)
"Activist not pin-ups" these Russian Punk Rock ladies made the world stage for releasing provocative music videos online as part of a protest for LGBT and womens rights in Russia. Their protest eventually landed a couple of the band members in the slammer. The human rights implications of the sentence attracted the worldwide attention of Amnesty International, Madonna, Obama, Sting, all publicly supporting the women. So, naturally, they released an e-book from prison and #freepussyriot trended on Twitter.
Strong activists? Yes. Digital geniuses? You decide.
Pussy Riot has been nominated for an O Music 'Digital Genius' award. They're up against the likes of Psy and Yoko Ono (one of PR's biggest fans). If they win, they'll join the hall of fame with music/digital royalty - Bjork, who was awarded in 2011 for her masterpiece, Biophilia.
