I’m combining a few anons who asked for my take on the couples therapy bloopers.
Honestly? I was surprised. Not because of the chemistry, that’s always there. What surprised me was the level of intimacy, and how instinctively, quickly, and naturally they sank into it, when as far as we know they haven’t been touching like that in over a year and a half. Even stable couples who haven’t been physically close in a while usually have a second of hesitation, a beat of finding the rhythm again. Here, it looked like they didn’t miss a step.
And it wasn’t casual contact, either. Caitriona acted like it was the most natural thing in the world to press her thigh to his, to squeeze his knee (we’ll get back to that), to run her fingers through his hair, touch his cheek, hook her leg around him. And on his end, he was acting like her lips were the most fascinating thing he’s seen in the last year.
When it’s inside the sketch, you can still argue “fine,” they’re actors, they’re performing, it’s for the bit. But we’re talking about the bloopers. The out of character moments. The breaks. And even then they kept their faces close, kept hands on legs, kept that gentle thumb movement on his knee.
And the moment that, for me, told the whole story in two seconds was when they were reading the script and Caitriona, without even noticing, squeezed his knee in a way you can’t explain away as part of the sketch, not as “siblings,” and not even as “best friends.” Honestly, especially not as best friends. The casualness of it, and the fact that he didn’t flinch, didn’t shift, like it’s completely normal for them, said everything.
And then in promo we’re being sold “home,” loving spouses, Instagram stories. How many partners, even partners of actors, would be fine seeing their partner behave like this with their “best friend”? Especially when it’s just a comedy sketch, where boundaries could easily have been set if they wanted to.
It felt like we saw them in their natural environment, with a host they like and feel comfortable with, and “being themselves” seems to mean a level of ease and physical intimacy that doesn’t really make sense for friends. Everything else is the story they tell around it.
As always, spot on.
Brava!
Fan service, my foot.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
I'm glad I missed the drama. And I agree, we shouldn't give it or her any airtime.
I think the fandom was going nuts over the couples therapy and bloopers that Josh provided for us (thank you Josh😘) that some desperate measures were needed to counteract it.
Hence 🐕 with 🕶️ move.
Everything we see on his social media is calculated and measured. Make no mistake about that.
And I'm not even gonna mention his clown psycho therapist of a "girlfriend"s name on my blog.
He wants to stay relevant? I get that. But there are ways of doing so without being cringe and creepy. 😁
He can post about Outlander, post about Jamie Fraser...and no I'm not talking about the same old clips and bits we've seen a gazillion times over, I mean something new we haven't seen yet...BTS photos from his personal stash perhaps (I'm sure he's got loads) or actual personal clips of himself talking about stuff we haven't heard, and it doesn't even need to be breaching privacy, if he doesn't wish to, but again something new we haven't seen or heard, some upcoming projects he's excited about, anything... because how much can one listen to about whiskey, Galloway, or Outlander stories we've heard on repeat for twelve years.
Because sadly, for me personally, I'm losing interest in him very fast these days. And this circus 🎪 is just hurting his image than doing anything good for his reputation.
So next time just ignore. And let's just focus on what we love, and hope this blows over sooner rather than later 🙏😵💫
Love you all 💗
🚢 on my friends.

How many times are we allowed to watch this, bc I think I’ve gone over the limit?
8 seasons, 8 premieres, them always 💖
Que bien se veían en la premier de la final, ojalá usarán siempre estos estilistas. (antes no se veían mal, solo que ahora se vieron mejor)

Aquí hay una dulzura distinta a la que tienen Claire y Jamie.
They Communicate Just By Looking At Each Other
Jan Matthys is a Belgian director who joined the Outlander creative team for Season 7, directing key episodes in 2024, including "Hello, Goodbye" (713) and "Ye Dinna Get Used to it (714). Known for his work on The Last Kingdom and Vikings: Valhalla, he has been praised for capturing the chemistry between Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan during the 7B filming.
“After seven seasons, you might expect a routine. But that’s not the case at all. They question every scene, and try to make everything feel new. There’s a magic happening… They are just so in sync. They communicate just by looking at each other. As a director, you see it happening and you just have to put a camera on it.” - Jan Matthys (Director)
