A visual comparison, thanks to Humphrey Yang on YouTube (not an endorsement, I don't know what the rest of his videos are like)
First we see one hundred thousand dollars, represented by a single grain of rice. Alongside is one million dollars, represented by ten grains.
Now we see one million dollars compared to one billion.
This is a transitional frame to show how much we have to zoom out before the next comparison...
And here's Elon Musk's 2020 net worth, thirty billion dollars.
Keeping that scale in mind, see how much we have to zoom out to see his 2022, pre-Twitter net worth of one hundred and ninety five billion dollars. Note that the pile is so big Yang couldn't even fit it in frame without making the note too distance to read.
Now look back up, and remember that the average person doesn't even make a fraction of a single grain.
Rian Johnson is quite wealthy, but the most generous estimations of his net worth don't even place him at a quarter of the third pile. To put a someone like Rian Johnson in the same category of wealth as Musk, Bezos, Gates et al, is like putting a public pool in the same category as the Pacific Ocean. Both have more water than your bathtub, but they are absolutely not the same.
