“What is the most basic article of faith? That this is not all that we are.”
“I look at you now. I don’t see Kara Thrace. I see an angel blazing with the light of God, an angel eager to lead her people home.”
o i miss this. i miss it so much. maybe in times of great angst we crave the fictional angst of others because their constructed struggles already have meaning, at least in some degree. and this was so epic, so beautiful, and so flawed.
this comment is so beautifully written<3
“In our civil war, we’ve seen death. We’ve watched our people die. Gone forever. As terrible as it was beyond the reach of the Resurrection ships, something began to change. We could feel a sense of time, as if each moment held its own significance. We began to realize that for our existence to hold any value, it must end. To live meaningful lives, we must die and not return. The one human flaw that you spend your lifetimes distressing over… Mortality is the one thing… Well, it’s the one thing that makes you whole.” – Number Six
"You keep my secret, sir, I'll keep yours."

"Admiral Cain said to me once, "If you can be this for as long as you have to be, you're a razor." A weapon can't feel fear, has no regrets. It just is."
"Noticed you would've gotten along just fine. Of course, my mom was full of crap about a lot of things. Held on to her anger so tight that at the end, that's all she had left. She died alone. You ask me, fear, anger -- two sides of the same coin. You gotta let go of both."
Battlestar has some of the best quotes which sum up the characters and their situations beautifully.
Galactica's bravest

A mashup, but an appropriate one I feel.
As always with Battlestar, Dee's tragic end was heartbreaking and utterly devastating. One of the things that struck me particularly about it her death was the fact that Dee so strong and yet so optimistic about the now. For so long she was able to stay on the merry-go-round, and then something just snapped and it was gone. Her death was the first post in this blog because her death, above all the others, stuck with me long after I had finished the show.
There was something so completely horrible and yet poetic about it, a delicately controlled madness which frightened me. Dee was the epitome of sensibility, of normalcy, and yet there was that dark glint in her eye as she checked to see that no one was watching before pulling the trigger. Her evolution over the course of the series was wonderful and I made this post with the idea that it embraces all of her sides, especially the side which Billy brought out in her, and which grounded her in so many ways.
