GUYS
My teacher recommended me a bible website, and it's the coolest thing ever
Basically, it's called Catena, and the gist is that for every verse of the bible you can click on it and see commentary from TONS of scholars across the centuries
the funniest part is that it's formatted like a comment section so it looks like all these massive scholars all got together and commented on the bible
which they did (communion of saints my beloved)
BUT ANYWAYS yeah I just felt that this should be shared with you all :)

If the validity of Baptism depends on the quality of our faith, then we would all be in great trouble. As Christians we know our faith is not a constant "truth" like a mathematical formula. Two plus two will always equal four. But faith does not work that way. It often wavers, trembles, and doubts. Luther understood this himself. He even likened the fragility of faith to "butter in the sunshine." He often said that the devil is especially busy tempting people of faith because he knows such folk threaten his power as God's chief opponent on earth. So they are special targets of his attacks. As a consequence, faith needs an anchor, or something to which it can cling when it is under assault. And that anchor is Baptism, the most precious "jewel in body and soul." ~Mark D. Tranvik, "Infant Baptism and Saving Faith" in Luther's Large Catechism with Annotations and Contemporary Applications, 624.

obsessed with women mystics who felt drawn to the wounds of God and slept in the heart of Christ…..bataille said “no greater desire exists than a wounded person’s need for another wound”, but the greatest desire is that of a wounded person’s need for a wounded God
“Holy places are dark places. It is life and strength, not knowledge and words, that we get in them. Holy wisdom is not clear and thin like water, but thick and dark like blood.”

“Always maintain interior silence, speaking seldom to creatures, but often to God by your works, suffering and doing all for love of Him.”

So those who are last will be first. And those who are first will be last. -Matthew 20:16 (CEB)
Throughout all the human story we’ve attempted to reach the status of God. We want to be God-like (or even more to be God, that we may worship ourselves.) Yet, every attempt to do so has ended in failure & tragedy, except one. Christ shows us what it means to be God; it is not about merely Power for the sake of Power, it is not merely about Freedom for the sake of Freedom, it is not about Glory for the sake of Glory. To be God is to be Holy & Wholly Love, a love that pours itself out for others. Christ is God fully and Human fully. He shows how we may attain God-likeness (Theosis). But it is not at all what we thought it was. Christ’s Crown was not of Gold but of Thorns, His ascension to his throne was a descent to death on a Cross. The Kingdom of God is an Upside-Down Kingdom where Christ has placed himself lowest and thus is the Most Holy & Glorious Lord.
It may be true that the law cannot change the heart, but it can restrain the heartless. It may be true that the law can't make a man love me, but it can restrain him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important also. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
