Not gonna lie, people really need to stop conflating the term Safe Vore with Safe For Work. Safe Vore is not short for Safe For Work Vore. It means Vore that is not Fatal. You can still have characters masturbate in Safe Vore. Your audience is still masturbating to Safe Vore. Regardless of if the characters are depicted doing it. Because you labeled it Vore and thatâs a fetish.
Not everyone who sees Vore will find it sexy but that does not negate the fact that when you use the term Vore what you are talking about is a fetish that for the vast majority of people is sexual. There is also no way to stop most people with this fetish from finding the concept of being eaten or eating someone else sexual.
You can show an old cartoon that has elements of teasing about one character eating another. You can show Scar with the mouse in his mouth. You can view the cartoon âI donât careâ Pier with the Lion and even though the author had no intention to titillate, the fetishist will still be turned on. There is nothing you can intentionally do to your work that will make it non-titillating.
Thatâs not to say the fetishist will be into every example of someone or something being eaten but YOU the author or artist cannot artificially control that outcome.
You cannot promise to a fetishist that they will not be turned on. You cannot promise to the rest of your audience that people are not being turned on. You have no ability to prevent that outcome.
The fetishists donât even have the ability to prevent that outcome, though obviously if something really makes them unhappy to be turned on by they might try to avoid it. But you canât demand that of them or guarantee it.
Especially not if youâre using the term Vore and therefore inviting people with that fetish over to you. This is not to say that people canât be fascinated by something without it being sexual or that every instance of someone or something eating someone or something in fiction is designed to appeal to fetishists.
But, you A. Donât have any control over what a fetishist will perceive as sexual and B. Are utilising terminology MADE BY those fetishists. You are coming into the fetish house and trying to mansplain how fetishes work to fetishists. When people say âAll Vore Is Sexualâ they are not saying that everyone who looks at an image will be turned onâŚit wouldnât be a fetish if that was the case. It would just be normal freaking sex.
They are saying that anyone with a vore fetish has a very good chance of being turned on and thereâs literally nothing you or they can do to control or stop it. Itâs not about your perception, or the intent of your art. Itâs about the fact that if you go to a BDSM club in latex people are going to assume youâre there for the BDSM.

Like many stories, there is a dragon and a princess. A great, green-scaled beast, looking like he was carved from a massive emerald, and a fair maidenâsometimesâwith hair like fine copper. âI just wanted to offer you somewhere more comfortable to sleep.â His voice was a low rumble, almost a purr as he licked his snout, wings shuffling slightly. She blinked up at him, thoughtfulâshe knew what he was implying from the way he looked at her. Affectionate, but also hungry.
Letting out a soft hum, they stretched as they thought. The curl of his tail and body was more comfortable than the cold stone floor, but they were still at least partially laying on it. And they knew how this game wentâthey would play along.Â
âOh? What did you have in mind?â She asked, falsely innocent as she gazed up at him. There was a bed for the both of them, of courseâhe could take a human form if he wished, and she was here by choice. While he preferred his natural form, he didn't want to deprive her of comfort.Â
He rumbled softly, lowering his head and making a show of licking his chops. âSomewhere dark and warm and close at hand, where no one would bother you, my love.â Sharp teeth that had never once touched their skin shone in a predatory grin as he leaned in close enough they could reach out and touch him if they wished.Â
They paused as if to think his offer over, humming quietly under their breath. Drawing it out until they could see him practically vibrating in anticipation, before they reached out to put a hand against his snout. âShow me to my room?â
âOf course, my dear.â His words rumbled with an affectionate purr as he opened his mouth to scoop her up, careful to not so much as snag her dressing gown on his teeth. She let out a soft sigh, closing her eyes as she felt his tongue shift beneath herârough like a catâs, but still gentle as he lapped at her relaxed form.Â
It wasn't long before their gown was plastered to their skin with thick, clinging saliva, at which point they felt him start to tilt his head back. They took a deep breath, holding it in their lungs as he swallowed and they were pulled into the tight squeeze of his throat. The contracting muscles felt like a full-body massage as they slipped down further into his body, wringing any small bit of tension from them until they were finally deposited out into a larger space.Â
His crop wasn't expansive, but it seemed almost perfectly sized for her to curl up comfortably insideâa fact she'd discovered the first night they'd met. It had been more frightening then; meeting the prince she was set to marry, only to find a large green dragon instead, though one that didn't fit with the stories she'd readâgentle, well-spoken, and clearly the one she had been exchanging letters with. But he'd swallowed her up regardless, despite her fearful struggles and protests.
Now, though, the little chamber in his chest was as comforting to them as their own bedâperhaps more so, as their bed didn't have the sound of a massive heart beating and lungs breathing to lull them to sleep. With a wide yawn they snuggled into place, already feeling the pull of sleep tug at them once more.Â
âComfortable?â He murmured, sounding somewhat amused. She simply hummed, rubbing the side of his crop with her hand in responseâsmiling slightly at the hitch in his breath when she did so. He rarely admitted it, but he enjoyed it when she stroked himâinside or out. A sure way to have him curled up and purring like a kitten in herâsometimes metaphoricalâlap.
âI'll take that as a yes. Sleep well, my heart.âÂ
Letting out another yawn, they allowed the symphony of his body to send them off to slumber once more.Â
