When I see people dance (Popping, Breaking, Contemporary etc.) I can see a lot of them treat it like it's a hobby. They suck SHIT and should just quit. -BeT

#BellLet'sTalk
This campaign that Bell has done is truly appreciated and definitely a great way to support communities around the globe with every retweet or # donations. A great way in helping and treating people with mental health issues who are having a hard time being appreciated as a person within society. We, my brother and I, truly appreciate this. With that being said, not everyone who "support" this campaign are actually like that.. Since grade 6 of grade school, my brother and I would be eating lunch with our group of friends. As we were going away at our food and conversation, a kid randomly sat with us. We realized it was a student from the special ed. class so me and my brother greeted him and introduced ourselves. We had a good talk about Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, Pokemon, Digimon etc., (This is when we were REALLY BIG on the anime stuff *DBZ FTW*) and so he would sit with us from there on out. From that, hatred and anger was totally ABSENT from his mind. My brother and I would soon consider him as a cool guy and a friend and we would play on the fields during recess. However, almost all of our friends within that group weren't very comfortable when he's around but we were just kids and we didn't know any better. After our graduation from elementary school, we would find ourselves wound up in high school.
As a developing child, (A funny way to put it) we wised up a bit and developed common sense haha. All of my friends from elementary school reunited and met up during lunch. We would either be studying, playing cards (Big 2, 13, black Jack, Slap and so on...) or just have a conversation about upcoming video games. You know, typical boy stuff. After a few days, our friend from special ed class was in the same highschool as us and we were sooo excited to see him! We would invite him to sit at our table and do what we do best....EAT LIKE SUPER SAIYANS!!.. Haha kidding, just the typical things we would do. Life was pretty good until a few months later and throughout the rest of my years in highschool.
The fact that he had mental health issues, he was definitely known around the whole school along with other students from his class. Here's the thing, everyone knew who he was and knew he HAS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, but to them that fact was given no FUCKS. As a normal human being like everyone else, he would start hanging out with other groups of people and befriending them both young and old. Out of all the people I saw him hanging out with, 95% of them hated his guts and found him of "Annoyance". In all cases, I've either seen or heard that these "friends" would make FUN OF HIM, GET AWAY FROM HIM, TALK SHIT ABOUT HIM, OR EVEN FUCKING MAKING FUN OF HIS INTELLECT because of his class status. This is all without him even knowing because he does not understand the concept of shit talking that was said from his "friends". My brother and I would be the only few who wanted to chill with this man and this is the shit my brother and I had to experience first hand. At the end of the day, we would always be giving out positive vibes and treat him as an equal, like a brother. Even when my brother and I would be really fuckin' pissed off. His only attentions is to have a good time and have fun. That was it.. This went on until our graduation for when we finally departed our ways.
This made me realize that the longer he hangs out with the 95%, they all start bitching about him and consider him weird and out of norm. What I'm getting at here is that all the people who has supported the campaign (including some of my friends who didn't appreciate him and also talked shit) are NOT legitimately supporting this cause because they can't even consider a long term appreciation and a relationship from a student that has this issue. I've never seen anyone hanged out with him as long as my brother and I and treated him with respect as a human being. A few giggles here and there but when hanging out with him long enough, all that negativity sets in.
A few years have passed by and me and a group of friends decided to get some sushi (University of Guelph peeps, you know who you are!). As soon as we got into the restaurant, we saw him again. Tears ALMOST bursted out of my eyes (same goes with my brother) but we were sooooo happy to see him again. Legit, gave him the biggest hug ever :D. We caught up about our lives and so on but we had to go our seperate ways as he finished lunch with his family. That was the last time I've seen him but I hope to meet up with him soon time in the future. ALL IN ALL, for all the people who are "supporting" this cause. Did you actually have or had a friend with mental health issues but always stuck by their side, NO MATTER WHAT, like my brother and I? Sure as hell 95% of people didn't and only the 5% did. that 95% are now "supporting" but they've never ACTUALLY have in REAL LIFE. As great philosophers stated: "Treat others as you would treat yourselves" -Enlightened ones Don't be lying to yourself and support this cause with an empty, mindless head. Appreciate a person no matter. EVERYONE WHO IS WITH AN EMPTY, HOLLOW, SHALLOW, MIND WHO ARE LYING TO THEMSELVES, YA'LL SOFT THINGS WHO ARE RIDING THE BAND WAGON LIKE ALL THE BLIND BELIEBERS. Had to get this off my chest but I appreciate EVERYONE who has read my story of having a close friend who is definitely ONE OF A KIND! Thank you,
-BeT
