Once upon a time the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned... exploring Taylor Swiftâs discography through astrology, archetypes, and storytelling.
Oh hi! Welcome to my little project, the TS Zodiac. This started on Threads just as a fun exercise, going through each of Taylor Swift's albums and assigning one song to each of the zodiac signs, but I thought I would collate everything in one place.
I'm not a professional astrologer by any means, so I hope my choices and explanations make sense. And if you don't like the songs Iâve picked for your sign, that's okay! The zodiac signs are all so nuanced and Taylor's songs are so layered that it's virtually impossible to pick something 100% perfect. And I know how passionate people get about their zodiac signs and favourite Taylor songs.
I've included a second choice for all the albums except TTPD, which I split into the main album and The Anthology.
You can browse by album here:
Debut | Fearless | Speak Now | Red | 1989 | Reputation | Lover | folklore | evermore | Midnights | TTPD | The Anthology | TLOAS
Iâm working on a fun birth chart x song generator, and will be posting weekly forecasts and other fun astrology stuff so if thatâs your jam then feel free to stick around!

There is a huge planetary alignment happening right now! August 12th is the peak date, as it coincides with the New Moon solar eclipse AND the Perseid meteor shower.
This would be the perfect cosmic timing for a Debut TV announcement so letâs break it down.
MERCURY
Moving through: Leo
Core themes: communication, announcements, news, information
Mercury rules messages, announcements and reveals. In Leo, it communicates with confidence and flair. If youâre in the clown car for âsomething big is about to be announcedâ, Mercury in Leo is in the driverâs seat.
Mars is how we act, pursue and initiate. In Cancer, its energy becomes deeply emotional and connected to home, roots, family and the past. It can mean taking action to reclaim or protect something that feels personally significant đ
Jupiter is the planet of growth and amplification, and moving through Leo gives it real âstep into the spotlightâ energy - creativity, recognition and a dramatic new chapter that is bigger, bolder and impossible to ignore.
Saturn brings seriousness and makes things real. In Aries, it imposes strong discipline and structure onto personal ambitions - taking ownership and finally turning an long-held idea into an actual, tangible reality.
URANUS
Moving through: Gemini
Core themes: disruption, breakthroughs, the unexpected
This is the wildcard. In Gemini, the sign of communication, information and media, it can bring sudden news, unexpected announcements and information arriving out of nowhere. Sound familiar? đ€Ą
NEPTUNE
Moving through: Aries
Core themes: imagination, ideals, vision
Neptune in Aries combines dreaming with initiation - this is imagining a future and then pursuing it while dissolving old versions of your identity. Neptune can make things hazy though, which reminds us not to buy into every rumour, however tempting!
NEW MOON
The planetary alignment coincides with a New Moon and total solar eclipse in Leo. The eclipse symbolism here is especially potent for themes of endings, beginnings, visibility and major shifts in direction.
PERSEID METEOR SHOWER
Meteor showers arenât traditionally classed as planetary transits but weâd be remiss to ignore the symbolism here. A shower of shooting stars named for a legendary hero, reaching their peak during a six-planet alignment, a New Moon/solar eclipse, and theyâre created by falling debris from a comet literally named Swift-Tuttle. The symbolism practically writes itself.
THE COSMIC NARRATIVE
Something creative wants to be seen. Something unexpected wants to be announced. Something from the past wants to come back. This is cosmically aligned clowning, Swifties!
Debut is an album of beginnings - first loves, first heartbreaks, small-town dreams, insecurity, friendship and the dizzying feeling of figuring out who you are. It captures the zodiac at its most youthful - hopeful, opinionated, and endlessly curious - with every sign finding its own way to turn a big feeling into a story.
Aries - Picture To Burn
Taurus - Maryâs Song (Oh My My My)
Gemini - Stay Beautiful
Cancer - Tim McGraw
Leo - Invisible
Virgo - Tied Together With A Smile
Libra - Iâm Only Me When Iâm With You
Scorpio - Shouldâve Said No
Sagittarius - A Place In This World
Capricorn - Cold As You
Aquarius - The Outside
Pisces - Teardrops On My Guitar
Aries - Picture To Burn
âSo watch me strike a match on all my wasted time, as far as I'm concerned, you're just another picture to burnâ
This song is impulsive, loud, petty and overdramatic - very teenage Aries. It immediately opens with confrontation, because they donât have time to wait around stewing in their feelings. Thereâs no filter either, which is something Aries is famous for - theyâre not usually one for hidden meanings or manipulation. Underneath their confidence and confrontation, letâs not forget theyâre the baby of the zodiac. They can be very sensitive to criticism or rejection, so this song is perfectly suits an Aries whoâs ego has been wounded and theyâre going to tell you in the most straightforward way possible.
(Second choice: Shouldâve Said No)
Taurus - Maryâs Song (Oh My My My)
âI'll be eighty seven, you'll be eighty nine, I'll still look at you like the stars that shine in the skyâ
Taurus donât tend to start relationships with fireworks and obsession - the love in this song grows naturally and patiently over an entire lifetime. As a fixed earth sign, Taurus is deeply connected to the physical world - thereâs beautiful imagery here of childhood houses, front porches, gardens, weddings, creek beds. All very understated Venusian beauty. Thereâs no sense here of the narrator exploring any other possibilities either, just two people consistently choosing each other - thereâs no sign that values loyalty and consistency quite like a Taurus.
(Second choice: Tim McGraw)
Gemini - Stay Beautiful
âAnd when you find everything you looked for I hope your life leads you back to my door, oh but if it don't⊠stay beautifulâ
Geminis tend to be absolutely fascinated with people - and Stay Beautiful is a great representation of that. The whole song is a collection of small observations about someone - perfect for a sign ruled by Mercury which governs the way we process our environment (both mentally and visually). Thereâs a very airy lightness to the song, Gemini isnât trying to change their crush, or even be with them. Theyâre content to observe and be captivated by them without being completely consumed by them. Theyâre often very attracted to individuality and uniqueness, and here theyâre saying, just stay yourself, stay beautiful.
(Second choice: Our Song)
Cancer - Tim McGraw
âWhen you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think my favorite song, someday you'll turn your radio on, I hope it takes you back to that placeâ
Oh this song is just absolutely full of romantic nostalgia - perfect for Cancer. Itâs a memory preserved in a song, and the black dress, the moon, the box of letters⊠theyâre all emotional anchors to that memory. Ultimately even if the relationship is never rekindled, Cancer still wants to be remembered fondly and to be reassured that the relationship actually mattered and meant something. While we could easily assign this dreamy track to Pisces or Taurus, this is Cancer remembering something exactly as it was. Itâs soft, vulnerable and deeply personal.
(Second choice: Maryâs Song)
Leo - Invisible
âYou just see right through me but if you only knew me, we could be a beautiful miracleâ
This song captures an often overlooked side of Leo - while theyâre known for their confidence, this song is the pain of a Leo who feels like their light isnât being seen. They donât necessarily always chase attention or fame, underneath it all they just want to feel special to someone, and as a fixed sign, once their heart chooses someone they can find it difficult to casually detach. This isnât them saying, Iâm amazing just look at me, this is a Leo saying, Iâm know Iâm special, I know we could be something special, why havenât you seen that yet?
(Second choice: Picture To Burn)
Virgo - Tied Together With A Smile
âAnd no one knows that you cry, but you don't tell anyone that you might not be the golden oneâ
Virgo is the sign of care, service, and improvement, but that often means they believe everything, including themselves, needs to be fixed. This song is about someone who appears completely put together, but underneath theyâre struggling. Whatâs interesting here is that Virgo actually could relate to both sides of this song.Theyâre usually the person giving everyone else advice about self-worth while quietly falling apart and being the harshest critic of themselves. Theyâre person in the corner noticing everything, carrying everyone elseâs problems, and forgetting that they deserve the same kindness they give away.
(Second choice: Shouldâve Said No)
Libra - Iâm Only Me When Iâm With You
âAnd I don't try to hide my tears, my secrets or my deepest fears, through it all nobody gets me like you doâ
This is such a sweet choice for a baby Libra. They often discover parts of themselves through meaningful connections - friendships, familial ties and romantic relationships. This song is about the rare person who they donât have to perform around, which highlights just how aware Libra can be of how they come across to others. For a sign stereotyped to have such people pleasing tendencies, this song is not simply losing yourself in someone, itâs finding a relationship where you can express yourself freely and still be loved.
(Second choice: Invisible)
Scorpio - Shouldâve Said No
âI can't resist, before you go tell me this, was it worth it? Was she worth this?â
Weâre jumping right into it for Scorpio - they donât do things halfway or enter relationships lightly. So when someone betrays them, it isnât just, you hurt my feelings. Itâs, you violated my trust. The main focus here isnât the heartbreak, itâs heavily focused on the choice that the other person made and the consequences of that choice. Thereâs not even a single chance of reconciliation because Scorpio has an almost psychic ability for seeing through peopleâs lies and excuses. This song is the defensive sting of someone wounded whose trust has been broken.
(Second choice: Cold As You)
Sagittarius - A Place In This World
âFeeling lucky today, got the sunshine, could you tell me what more do I need? And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah, but that's okayâ
Sagittarius often gets saddled with the stereotypical âthey like to travelâ characteristic, but it goes much deeper than that. This song is someone searching for meaning, which is a much more accurate way of interpreting them. The narrator is searching, quite literally, for their place in the world. Sagittarius doesnât usually get frustrated by not having all the answers immediately, because they recognise that the journey is a fundamental part of finding the answer. This song is Sagittarius beginning to explore life on their own terms.
(Second choice: Stay Beautiful)
Capricorn - Cold As You
âJust walk away, ainât no use defending words that you will never sayâ
It might seem odd to be assigning Capricorn the first of many devastatingly emotional track 5s because they tend to be quite reserved, but letâs take a closer look. Yes it could work as a heartbreak song for one of the water signs, but looking at it through a Capricorn lens tells us itâs about standards in a relationship. They take respect very, very seriously - the narrator here isnât saying, you didnât love me enough, theyâre saying actually, you treated me like shit and I deserve better than that. They require honesty, reliability and effort in a relationship, and if they donât get that, theyâll walk away even if it hurts.
(Second choice: Tied Together With A Smile)
Aquarius - The Outside
âI tried to take the road less travelled by, but nothing seems to work the first few times, am I right?â
Aw baby Aquarius. This song suits them perfectly as they so often view life through a wide lens, or feel that theyâre watching life happen through a window. They might feel like theyâre different to most people - this song is the beginning hints of Aquariusâ need for individuality above all else. Theyâre also not trying to force themselves in, and itâs not that they donât care about fitting in or that it doesnât hurt when they donât, rather that this song is them watching life unfold from the edges, trying to understand where they fit in.
(Second choice: A Place In This World)
Pisces - Teardrops On My Guitar
âHe's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar, the only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing starâ
Pisces naturally gravitate towards their dreams and imagination to help them process things, and this song is the perfect jumping off point for them. They also have a great capacity for loving even when that love isnât returned. And thereâs no malice towards their crush, the narrator is well aware he loves someone else - rather than anger or confusion, thereâs a quiet devastation here thatâs very Piscean. They often put someone elseâs happiness before their own too, since empathy tends to come so naturally to them. This song is a Pisces heart loving deeply and quietly.
Fearless is about taking the leap into growing up, heartbreak, hope, and friendship and finding the courage to feel everything anyway. It captures the zodiac at its most open-hearted - optimistic, adventurous, romantic and resilient - with each sign bringing its own kind of bravery to the thrill and uncertainty of finding out who youâre supposed to be.
Aries - The Way I Loved You
Taurus - Hey Stephen
Gemini - The Other Side Of The Door
Cancer - Fifteen
Leo - You Belong With Me
Virgo - Tell Me Why
Libra - White Horse
Scorpio - Youâre Not Sorry
Sagittarius - Fearless
Capricorn - Forever & Always
Aquarius - Change
Pisces - Breathe
Aries - The Way I Loved You
âHeâs charming and endearing and Iâm comfortable⊠but I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rainâ
Ok I can already hear people yelling that Aries should get Fearless, and yes, but hear me out. Aries isnât going to be swayed by something comfortable. On paper, the guy is perfect but Aries canât stop thinking about the relationship that made them feel alive. Itâs not that they want drama necessarily or that they dwell on the past, but they crave energy, chemistry, and the challenge that a relationship can bring. This song doesnât celebrate toxicity, but rather mourns the loss of overwhelming passion⊠and being so in love that they act insane.
(Second choice: Fearless)
Taurus - Hey Stephen
âOf all the girls tossing rocks at your window, I'll be the one waiting there even when it's coldâ
This song is a much softer depiction of Taurus than we might expect. Theyâre patient in love, and often are willing to wait for someone to quietly realise theyâre the right choice. Itâs not just, I have a crush on you, thereâs a real sense here of Taurus calmly waiting to build something real. Itâs not just, hey maybe we should be together, itâs Taurus saying, nobody else could give you what I can. Thereâs no grand declarations of love or overdramatic confessions in this song, just consistency, quiet devotion, and confidence without needing to make a spectacle.
(Second choice: Jump Then Fall)
Gemini - The Other Side of the Door
âI keep going back over the things we both said, and I remember the slamming door and all the things that I misreadâ
This is Geminiâs planetary ruler, Mercury, in song format. Itâs a stream-of-consciousness collection of thoughts, memories, arguments and reconciliations - the narrator wants to leave, but doesnât, they argue, they leave, they regret it. This isnât indecisiveness, itâs emotionally processing a chaotic relationship through language and conversation. Geminis often constantly run an internal dialogue in their heads and this song is literally someone arguing with themselves for four minutes, even after the door has been slammed shut.
(Second choice: The Way I Loved You)
Cancer - Fifteen
âBut Iâve found time can heal most anything, and you just might find who youâre supposed to beâ
This song isnât just about the experience of being fifteen years old, this is looking back on adolescence with compassion and wisdom. Of course a Cancer would want to protect someone from the heartbreak theyâve already lived through, because theyâre not only addressing their younger self but everyone else too. We see the beginnings of Cancerâs incredible capacity for turning painful memories into gentle guidance. Wisdom earned through experience is Cancer to a tee, and we thank them for their service.
(Second choice: We Were Happy)
Leo - You Belong With Me
âI know your favorite songs and you tell me 'bout your dreams, think I know where you belong, think I know itâs with meâ
Weâre building the lore here, okay? Although Leos can have a tendency to get jealous quite easily, if we look a little deeper we can see this song is really about wanting someone to see your worth. When theyâre feeling their best, Leos absolutely know their worth, and theyâll wait⊠for a little while. They know someone will choose them, and thatâs not arrogance, thatâs their confidence starting to shine. Also You Belong With Me is one of Fearlessâs most iconic songs, and if thereâs a sign who deserves to enter every room in a shower of gold, itâs Leo.
(Second choice: Untouchable)
Virgo - Tell Me Why
âWhy do you have to make me feel small, so you can feel whole inside?â
Virgos can sometimes be reduced to labels such as organised, or perfectionist, but this is because they tend to be very analytical, observant, and have very little patience for things that just donât make sense. Theyâve got standards, okay? And someone deliberately undermining a Virgo when theyâre busy with their personal growth? Absolutely not, go straight to jail. Theres no real explosive drama here, but this song is definitely a four minute interrogation by a Virgo wanting to hold someone accountable for what they did.
(Second choice: You All Over Me)
Libra - White Horse
âI was a dreamer before you went and let me down, now itâs too late for you and your white horse to come aroundâ
This song is what happens when the rose-coloured glasses come off and the fairytale Libra dreams of comes crashing down. Itâs a painful, but graceful, realisation and acceptance. Thereâs no calculated revenge plot, the narrator isnât lashing out or hurt someone back, thereâs only a desire for balance and for someone to treat them the way they treat others. For Libra, love should be a mutual, equal partnership. And itâs a track 5 so weâre definitely having an emotional crisis but in a very aesthetic, very Libra kind of way.
(Second choice: Today Was A Fairytale)
Scorpio - Youâre Not Sorry
âYou got your share of secrets and Iâm tired of being the last to knowâ
The entire premise of this song is so Scorpio coded - this is someone whoâs realised theyâve been betrayed, and theyâre done believing the lies theyâre being told. Scorpioâs intuition is almost second to none, and more than that, they tend to value emotional truth over almost anything else. Someone offering an insincere apology isnât going to cut it for them. And Scorpios absolutely can forgive and give someone a second chance, but once they hit their limit? You donât have to call anymore. Weâre done.
(Second choice: Donât You)
Sagittarius - Fearless
âI donât know why but with you Iâd dance in a storm in my best dress, fearlessâ
I love the title track for Sagittarius. This song isnât about having no fear at all, itâs about feeling the fear and being willing to live life and take the risks anyway. And this isnât just a blind leap of faith, itâs about the meaningful something that comes after making that leap. And Sagittarius isnât going to stop to ask questions, theyâre just excited to be chasing the next experience. Theyâre diving headfirst even when things might be uncertain with that classic Jupiterian optimism. Itâs raining? Letâs dance in the storm anyway.
(Second choice: Come In With The Rain)
Capricorn - Forever & Always
âWas I out of line? Did I say something way too honest? Made you run and hideâ
This might not seem like a very typically Capricorn choice because itâs a very heartbreaking song and they tend to be quite emotionally reserved on the surface. So letâs look at it a little deeper. Weâre not saying Capricorns canât be heartbroken, but the key here is someone saying something matters then acting like it doesnât. The future they were building with someone suddenly disappears. And someone treating a serious promise like it was something temporary? Caps around the world take that incredibly personally. And theyâll tell you to your face.
(Second choice: Bye Bye Baby)
Aquarius - Change
âItâs a revolution, the time will come for us to finally winâ
Weâve looked briefly at the Aquarius tendency to view life through a wider lens, so this song makes perfect sense for them. Again, this isnât just them being different or quirky, theyâre busy challenging the entire system. They have a strong relationship with the idea of the collective, especially when they get to be the underdog and stand against something bigger than themselves. It builds nicely on Aquariusâ rebellious streak, idealism, independence, and their belief that impossible things can become possible.
(Second choice: Mr Perfectly Fine)
Pisces - Breathe
âPeople are people and sometimes we change our minds, but it's killing me to see you go after all this timeâ
This is Pisces turning a breakup into cinema. Beyond the stereotype of âPisces cries all the timeâ, theyâre processing their grief quietly and with empathy herr. They understand that endings can be complicated, especially when you still hold love for the person whoâs hurting you. And this isnât emotional weakness, in fact itâs the opposite. Itâs a slow acceptance of the fact that sometimes things canât be controlled, and you canât always change someoneâs mind. Even if their heart says they donât know how to exist without someone, their soul says they will eventually.
Speak Now is all about finding your voice - saying what you mean, taking risks, rewriting the ending and refusing to let the important things go unsaid. It captures the zodiac at its most expressive - impulsive, dramatic, and unapologetically honest - with every sign finding its own way to step into the spotlight and finally say whatâs on their mind.
Aries - Sparks Fly
Taurus - Timeless
Gemini - Speak Now
Cancer - Last Kiss
Leo - Mean
Virgo - The Story Of Us
Libra - Enchanted
Scorpio - Haunted
Sagittarius - Long Live
Capricorn - Dear John
Aquarius - Innocent
Pisces - Back To December
Aries - Sparks Fly
âDrop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain, kiss me on the sidewalkâ
Aries can see someone they like, think âthat personâs gonna be bad for meâ and rush in anyway. Theyâre drawn to chemistry, adrenaline, and acting on first instinct - someone exciting enough to keep their attention and unpredictable enough to feel like an adventure. Aries doesnât always want the safe choice, they want the person who makes them feel alive. This song perfectly captures that impulsive attraction where the warning signs are there, but the thrill is too strong to ignore. They want to know what happens when the sparks catch into a fire.
(Second choice: Electric Touch)
Taurus - Timeless
âAnd sometimes there's no proof, you just know youâre always gonna be mineâ
This song carries such a strong undercurrent of endurance, perfectly encapsulating that stubborn, steadfast loyalty and devotion that only a Taurus can bring. It can take them a while to commit, but once they do, theyâre there for all time. They donât tend to fall for fleeting moments - they value connections that feel lasting, meaningful, and built to withstand anything life throws at them. Timeless captures their belief that true love is worth preserving, protecting, and choosing again and again.
(Second choice: Ours)
Gemini - Speak Now
âDonât wait or say a single vow, you need to hear me out and they said speak nowâ
Okay, actually hear me out here. This is one of the most outspoken, witty, chaotic, and restless songs on the album, which makes it feel incredibly Gemini. If anyone is going to crash a wedding, dramatically make their feelings known, and turn the entire situation into a story theyâll tell forever, itâs probably a Gemini. Theyâre saying their piece, making sharp observations, and absolutely side-eyeing the cupcake dress because honestly, what even is that? They donât always know when to stay quiet, but they always know how to make an entrance.
(Second choice: The Story Of Us)
Cancer - Last Kiss
âSo Iâll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep, and Iâll feel you forget me like I used to feel you breatheâ
Looking at heartbreak through the lens of nostalgia is an incredibly Cancerian move. They arenât just grieving the person, theyâre grieving the entire experience - the little moments, the memories, and the version of themselves that existed within that relationship. Cancer holds onto emotional history like a scrapbook, replaying the details because they mattered. They tend to forgive because they understand people are complicated, but theyâll never truly forget how someone made them feel.
(Second choice: Timeless)
Leo - Mean
âSome day Iâll be living in a big old city, and all youâre ever gonna be is mean, someday Iâll be big enough so you canât hit meâ
I can already hear the screaming for Long Live as the Leo choice, and I know this might be a controversial pick, but Mean is the perfect song for a Leo whose pride has been wounded. Leos can be incredibly confident, but underneath that confidence they can also be surprisingly self-critical. When someone publicly criticises them or tries to diminish them, their response is often, actually Iâm going to prove you wrong. And when Leo does prove themselves? Theyâre not doing it quietly - theyâre doing it with all the theatricality, passion, and dramatic flair they can bring.
(Second choice: ok fine you can have Long Live now)
Virgo - The Story Of Us
âOh, a simple complication, miscommunications lead to fall out, so many things that I wish you knewâ
When communication breaks down, Mercury notices - and Virgo especially is writing down every. single. thing. that went wrong. They want to understand the âwhyâ behind everything, but underneath the analysis, Virgo is fundamentally a lover rather than a fighter. They donât want conflict, they want clarity and resolution. A lack of the stability and understanding they crave makes them stop and go, wait what happened? Why are we here? This song captures that quiet frustration of someone trying to fix a connection they never wanted to lose.
(Second choice: Dear John)
Libra - Enchanted
âThis night is sparkling, donât you let it go, Iâm wonderstruck, blushing all the way homeâ
Possibly the quintessential Libra anthem? Enchanted is everything Libra loves about romance - a magical first meeting, a sparkling connection, witty conversation. Libra is ruled by Venus, so theyâre drawn to beauty, charm, and relationships that feel meaningful and almost destined. This is romance in its highest form - an unforgettable evening filled with chemistry, elegance, and possibility⊠then staying awake until 2am wondering if they felt the same way. Itâs the perfect Libran blend of fantasy and hope.
(Second choice: When Emma Falls In Love)
Scorpio - Haunted
âItâs getting dark and itâs all so quiet and I canât trust anything nowâ
Scorpios love deeply, but they also lose deeply. Casual attachment doesnât exist in their vocabulary - when they let someone in, that connection leaves a mark. Even when the relationship is over, they can still feel tied to it, replaying the memories and trying to understand the intensity of what they experienced. This song is the moment where theyâre still surrounded by the echoes of what was lost. And naturally, theyâre going to process it all with some very dramatic violins to make sure everyone feels the emotional devastation.
(Second choice: Better Than Revenge)
Sagittarius - Long Live
âLong live the walls we crashed through, I had the time of my life fighting dragons with youâ
I know everyone probably expected this one to go to Leo, but hear me out. Long Live is storytelling, adventure, friendship, and making memories, all framed as an epic quest - and that feels incredibly Sagittarius. They live for experiences that become stories, the moments that feel bigger than themselves and worth retelling for years to come. Sagittarius is the explorer of the zodiac, the one pushing boundaries and breaking down walls. Theyâre the ones who will remind everyone gathered around the campfire decades later that they fought dragons, changed the world, and absolutely won.
(Second choice: Sparks Fly)
Capricorn - Dear John
âYou are an expert at sorry and keeping the lines blurry, never impressed by me acing your testsâ
To Capricorns, a relationship is an investment of time, trust, and emotional energy - and when that investment is mishandled, theyâre going to take a very serious look at what went wrong. Dear John is a list of grievances delivered with classic Capricorn emotional control - theyâre saying, you hurt me, but Iâm going to take the power that experience gave me and use it. Itâs an angry song, but not an explosive one - itâs calculated anger, carefully expressed and backed by reflection. Capricorn doesnât need to scream to make their point but theyâll make sure you feel it.
(Second choice: Castles Crumbling)
Aquarius - Innocent
âI hope you remember today is never too late to be brand newâ
I think this will be an unpopular choice, but Innocent really demonstrates Aquariusâ unique ability to detach, understand, and look at the bigger picture, rather than being completely consumed by emotion. It reminds us that our mistakes and choices donât have to define who we are forever, and that growth is always possible. Rather than focusing only on blame, it asks us to consider the person behind the actions which is a very Aquarian way of thinking. Itâs compassionate, thoughtful, and focused on evolution rather than punishment.
(Second choice: a curveball, I Can See You)
Pisces - Back To December
âMaybe this is wishful thinking, probably mindless dreaming, but if we loved again, I swear I'd love you rightâ
When theyâve truly hurt someone, Piscesâ empathy can flood them with guilt and a burning desire to make things right. They have an incredible ability to step outside of themselves and understand the emotional impact of their actions, feeling not only what happened but all the ripples that followed. This song captures Piscesâ introspective nature perfectly - looking back, imagining different outcomes, and wishing they could rewrite the moment where things went wrong. Itâs the deep Pisces desire to heal what theyâve damaged.
Red is an album of extremes - thereâs all-consuming love, devastating break-ups, freedom, nostalgia and the messy contradictions of early adulthood. It captures the zodiac at its most passionate - reckless, sentimental and ever-changing - with every sign finding its own shade of red somewhere between the rush of falling in love and the ache of letting go.
Aries - Treacherous
Taurus - Begin Again
Gemini - Holy Ground
Cancer - Sad Beautiful Tragic
Leo - The Lucky One
Virgo - I Almost Do
Libra - Everything Has Changed
Scorpio - Red
Sagittarius - State Of Grace
Capricorn - The Moment I Knew
Aquarius - Girl At Home
Pisces - The Last Time
Aries - Treacherous
âAnd I just think you should, think you should know that nothing safe is worth the driveâ
This feels like a natural continuation from Sparks Fly for Aries. Again, theyâre mnowingly into something dangerous because the feeling is worth the risk. But beneath that bold, impulsive exterior is a much softer and more vulnerable side. Treacherous described the moment where Aries stops being fearless and admits that someone has genuinely gotten under their skin. Itâs not just about chasing the thrill, itâs about surrendering to a connection that scares them because it matters. The danger is part of the attraction, but so is the trust.
(Second choice: I Knew You Were Trouble)
Taurus - Begin Again
âI almost brought him up, but you start to talk about the movies that your family watches every single Christmas and I want to talk about thatâ
This is a Taurus whose sense of comfort and security has been shaken, but this song is them slowly finding their way back to something new. It captures the Taurus healing process perfectly - not through dramatic gestures or whirlwind romance, but through patience, consistency, and someone who makes them feel safe enough to open up again. Theyâre won over by the little things - someone who laughs at their jokes and doesnât judge their niche collections. Itâs someone pulling out their chair for them, remembering the smallest details, and showing them theyâre valued.
(Second choice: Stay Stay Stay)
Gemini - Holy Ground
âBut sometimes I wonder how you think about it now and I see your face in every crowdâ
This is Gemini looking back on a relationship with curiosity rather than grief or heartbreak. Theyâre not dwelling on what was lost, theyâre fascinated by the story, the memories, and everything that made the connection what it was. This song has that restless, fast-paced Gemini energy, with the past and present blending together in a rush of conversations, places, and moments. Gemini processes experiences by replaying them, analysing them, and turning them into stories worth telling, so even if the relationship ended, they got an incredible chapter out of it.
(Second choice: Message In A Bottle)
Cancer - Sad Beautiful Tragic
âAnd time is taking its sweet time erasing you, and you've got your demons and darlin' they all look like meâ
Again, Cancer is mourning the loss of a person and the entire experience they shared with them. Ruled by the Moon, Cancer is deeply connected to memory, nostalgia, and the idea of emotional home, so when a relationship ends, they arenât just losing someone, theyâre losing a place where they felt they belonged. Cancer understands more than most that some endings arenât caused by a lack of love - sometimes two people simply canât make something work. Cancer carries the memories, and honours what it was beautifully.
(Second choice: Safe & Sound)
Leo - The Lucky One
âAnother name goes up in lights like diamonds in the sky, and they'll tell you now you're the lucky oneâ
While Leos may be known for their love of living boldly and being in the spotlight, what they truly crave is authentic appreciation. The Lucky One explores the complicated side of being admired by everyone while feeling genuinely understood by almost no one. What happens when they reach the pinnacle of success? What has it cost them to get there? Leos know the thrill of shining brightly, but they also understand the pressure of always having to perform and prove their worth. Beneath the confidence is someone who wants to be valued for who they are, not just what they achieve.
(Second choice: I Bet You Think About Me)
Virgo - I Almost Do
âI bet it never ever occurred to you that I can't say hello to you and risk another goodbyeâ
This one is especially heartbreaking. Virgo will often choose the most logical option, even when a different part of them desperately wants something else. Theyâve calculated five separate risk assessments, replayed every possible outcome, and ultimately decided that reopening the wound isnât worth the pain. This song is that quiet battle between the heart and the mind - the longing is still there, but so is the understanding of why itâs better to stay away. Sometimes the hardest thing they do is not reaching out when every part of them wants to.
(Second choice: Nothing New)
Libra - Everything Has Changed
âAnd all I feel in my stomach is butterflies, the beautiful kind, making up for lost timeâ
Ok, this is slightly less dramatic than Enchanted, but this song captures a different side of Libra romance perfectly. Like their symbol of the scales, Libra values balance, harmony, and the feeling that everything has naturally fallen into place. Everything Has Changed centres that around meeting someone new and experiencing that rare moment where a person suddenly shifts your entire perspective. Itâs soft, beautiful, and deeply Venusian.
(Second choice: Come Back⊠Be Here)
Scorpio - Red
âRemembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes, tell myself it's time now gotta let go, but moving on from him is impossibleâ
Oh you Scorpios and your all-consuming emotions. The albumâs title track might seem like a surprising choice initially, but when you consider just how intensely Scorpios experience everything, it starts to make perfect sense. They donât do anything halfway - not love, not heartbreak, not transformation. When they fall for someone, the connection can feel consuming, like it has changed the entire landscape of their life. And when it ends, they donât just move on, they have to process every layer of what happened.
(Second choice: a rogue choice, Forever Winter)
Sagittarius - State Of Grace
âThese are the hands of fate, youâre my Achilles heel, this is the golden age of something good and right and realâ
I love this pick for Sagittarius so much. Again, weâre building on that theme of optimism, adventure, and pursuing something potentially risky because the payoff feels like it could be completely worth it (which seems to be a running theme for our fire signs!) State Of Grace embraces the idea of handing a relationship over to fate and trusting that something bigger is at work. Their planetary ruler, Jupiter, is naturally drawn to possibility and luck, so when Sagittarius is willing to take the leap, Jupiter just says âIâve got this handledâ.
Capricorn- The Moment I Knew
âAnd what do you do when the one who means the most to you is the one who didn't show?â
Ok, who broke another promise to a Capricorn? This song isnât just Capricorn being heartbroken - this is them feeling absolutely crestfallen. They take commitment seriously, so the pain comes not only from losing someone, but from realizing someone failed to show up when it mattered most. Theyâve given someone the benefit of the doubt, but this is the moment they decide enough is enough. You can practically hear the walls going up, the door closing, and the boundary finally being crossed. And someone made a Capricorn cry in public? Absolutely unacceptable. JAIL.
(Second choice: Better Man)
Aquarius - Girl At Home
âI don't even know her but I feel a responsibility to do what's upstanding and rightâ
Aquarians are known for having incredibly strong principles, and at the same time, they have absolutely zero tolerance for bullshit. Girl At Home reflects that very Aquarian ability to step back, assess a situation, and refuse to compromise their values. Some guy with a girlfriend hits on them at the bar? Theyâre not getting swept up in the drama - theyâre shutting that down immediately. Aquarius doesnât need a big emotional confrontation to make their point, theyâll simply recognise that something doesnât align with their beliefs and remove themselves from the situation. Call a cab, lose their number, and move on.
(Second choice: Treacherous)
Pisces - The Last Time
âAnd all the times I let you in just for you to go again, disappear when you come backâ
Pisces know how to set boundaries, but sometimes they can struggle with enforcing them when their heart is still attached. The Last Time perfectly conveys the emotional limbo Pisces can find themselves in - caught between knowing something needs to change and still hoping it can be repaired. But what makes this song so Piscean is that thereâs no true villain - both perspectives are given space to explain their pain. Pisces naturally search for the emotions behind every action, and their greatest strength (and sometimes their biggest challenge) is their endless empathy.
1989 is an album of reinvention - independence, freedom, friendship, longing, new relationships, and stepping boldly into a new version of yourself. It captures the zodiac at its most restless and self-assured - curious, magnetic, adventurous and ready to leave the past behind - every sign finds their own way to embrace the thrill of becoming someone new.
Aries - Blank Space
Taurus - All You Had To Do Was Stay
Gemini - Wonderland
Cancer - You Are In Love
Leo - Wildest Dreams
Virgo - Out Of The Woods
Libra - âSlut!â
Scorpio - I Know Places
Sagittarius - New Romantics
Capricorn - Clean
Aquarius - Now That We Donât Talk
Pisces - This Love
Aries - Blank Space
âSo itâs gonna be forever or itâs gonna go down in flames, you can tell me when itâs over if the high was worth the painâ
Blank Space perfectly captures the intense, explosive, all-or-nothing personality of Aries. I had a really hard time choosing lyrics here because so many of them fit so well - the confidence, the impulsiveness, the passion, and the complete willingness to throw themselves into an unforgettable experience. Aries love loudly, react quickly, and bring a certain chaos and excitement wherever they go. And if thereâs any sign whoâs going to dramatically reinvent themselves, embrace that chaos, and maybe smash up their exâs car with a golf club just for the theatrics⊠you know exactly which one it is.
(Second choice: Bad Blood)
Taurus - All You Had To Do Was Stay
âPeople like you always want back the love they pushed aside, but people like me are gone forever when you say goodbyeâ
Again, Taurus doesnât ask for grand gestures in love, theyâre looking for something much simpler and much more meaningful - someone whoâs going to stay. Loyalty, consistency, and reliability are incredibly important to Taurus, and when someone breaks that trust, they donât take it lightly. This song embodies that particular kind of heartbreak where the solution feels like it should have been so easy - just show up and choose me. Taurus may feel the urge to forgive because they love deeply, but their stubbornness and self-respect usually win out.
(Second choice: You Are In Love)
Gemini - Wonderland
âHaven't you heard what becomes of curious minds? Ooh didn't it all seem new and exciting?â
Curiouser and curiouser! I love this pick for Gemini. Diving straight into a new world works perfectly as a metaphor for Geminiâs endless curiosity and fascination with new people, ideas, and experiences. Theyâre drawn to the unknown, excited by possibilities, and always ready to follow a new path just to see where it leads. But underneath that adventurous energy is the classic Gemini overthinking spiral - questioning, analysing, and wondering whether theyâve gone too far. Their own minds can become just as much of a maze as Wonderland itself.
(Second choice: I Wish You Would)
Cancer - You Are In Love
âCause you can hear in the silence, you can feel it on the way home, you can see it with the lights outâ
A song that celebrates the quiet moments in a relationship where it feels like home? Yes please. This song describes the kind of connection Cancer values most - one built on friendship, trust, and the small everyday moments that slowly become everything. As an incredibly intuitive, almost psychic water sign, they notice the things left unsaid - the glance across the room, the comfort of silence, the little routines that reveal how deeply someone cares. A love you can hear in the quiet moments feels almost Taylor-made for them.
(Second choice: This Love)
Leo - Wildest Dreams
âRed lips and rosy cheeks, say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreamsâ
I know, this song usually gets assigned to Pisces, but hear me out. Weâre exploring the softer, more vulnerable side of Leo here. Leos donât just want to be admired - they want to be remembered, because they pour so much of themselves into the people and experiences they love. As a fixed sign, they have a strong connection to legacy and the desire to leave a lasting impression. Leo takes control of the narrative here and says, even if this ends, let it mean something. Let me remain a beautiful chapter in your story. And the music video? Luxurious, glamorous, cinematic, and magnetic. A little dramatic? Sounds like Leo to me.
(Second choice: âSlut!â)
Virgo - Out Of The Woods
âBut we were in screaming color and I remember thinking, are we out of the woods yet?â
This entire song is a sprint away from something chaotic, and Virgo hates uncertainty. They crave understanding, stability, and the reassurance that the things they care about are secure. Their relationships become something to protect and look after, and while Cancer is often given the caretaker role, Virgoâs care runs just as deeply. Their anxiety isnât irrational, it comes from a genuine desire to keep their people safe and prepared for every possible outcome. This song reflects Virgoâs constant search for clarity - are we safe yet? Are we okay? Can I finally stop worrying?
(Second choice: Say Donât Go)
Libra - âSlut!â
âGot lovestruck, went straight to my head, got lovesick all over my bedâ
For a sign who is stereotyped as a notorious people pleaser, a love that is worth any potential judgement or name-calling is the ultimate act of choosing themselves. Libra is often deeply aware of how they are perceived, but when they truly believe a connection is meaningful, they can find the strength to let the outside noise fade away. They maintain their grace and dignity by choosing harmony over conflict and focusing on the love itself. At the end of the day, Libra is simply a sign that is deeply, hopelessly in love with love.
(Second choice: Style)
Scorpio - I Know Places
âBaby, I know places we won't be found and theyâll be chasing their tails trying to track us downâ
Scorpios are incredibly private people, and theyâre naturally suspicious of outside scrutiny. They donât reveal their deepest feelings or most precious connections to just anyone, so when they let someone in, they become fiercely protective of what theyâve built. Scorpio loves deeply, but they also guard those feelings carefully, and the first sign of someone trying to dismantle what they have or threaten what they deem precious immediately puts them on the defensive. This might be one of my favourite picks for this album.
(Second choice: Is It Over Now?)
Sagittarius - New Romantics
âWe are too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet, baby we're the new romantics, the best people in life are freeâ
New Romantics is, for me, the ultimate Sagittarius anthem. It captures the freedom, optimism, and sense of adventure that Sagittarius craves above all else. Theyâre experts at turning hardships into lessons, taking every experience as something that can help them grow, and finding a reason to celebrate even when life gets messy. This song is about embracing the chaos, living in the moment, and refusing to let setbacks define the story. This calls back so beautifully to our Debut pick (A Place In This World) because the Eras tour mashup of these in the final show was peak Sagittarius energy.
(Second choice: Wonderland)
Capricorn - Clean
âThe water filled my lungs, I screamed so loud but no one heard a thingâ
Out of all the signs, Capricorn knows best that the most meaningful transformations rarely happen overnight - they require patience, discipline, and the willingness to keep going. They also know that success comes with sacrifice, and theyâre more than willing to shoulder their burdens quietly while they work toward something better. Clean is that slow, steady process of rebuilding themselves after something painful and finally reaching the other side. A fresh start achieved through their own resilience and perseverance is the ultimate Capricorn reward.
(Second choice: Out Of The Woods)
Aquarius - Now That We Donât Talk
âAnd the only way back to my dignity was to turn into a shrouded mysteryâ
Ever been ghosted by an Aquarius? Because theyâll quietly disappear from your life, then judge your new haircut and your questionable life choices with that very sharp, uniquely Aquarian wit. They also value authenticity above almost everything else, and staying in a relationship where they feel pressured to change themselves to fit someone elseâs expectations is simply not an option. They donât want to be someoneâs ideal version of them - they want to be fully, unapologetically themselves.
(Second choice: Shake It Off)
Pisces - This Love
âThese hands had to let it go free, and this love came back to meâ
Pisces often relate to love as a cosmic, cyclical force. It isnât something fixed or easily defined for them, itâs a fluid current that ebbs and flows, sometimes carrying them gently forward and sometimes pulling them under completely. Some connections just exist beyond logic for them - certain people and experiences are tied together by something deeper than circumstance. The themes of destiny, timing, and fate feel perfectly aligned with Piscesâ romantic worldview. They believe that what is truly meant for them wonât simply disappear. It may drift away, but if the connection is real, it will find its way back eventually.
Reputation is all about, well, reputation - desire, revenge, vulnerability, and discovering what and who actually matters when the outside world has already decided who you are. It captures the zodiac at its most defiant and protective - passionate, private, intense and rebellious - with every sign finding its own way to tear down the old narrative and reveal whatâs underneath.
Aries - I Did Something Bad
Taurus - King of My Heart
Gemini - Getaway Car
Cancer - Call It What You Want
Leo - Delicate
Virgo - Dancing With Our Hands Tied
Libra - Dress
Scorpio - Donât Blame Me
Sagittarius - âŠReady For It?
Capricorn - This Is Why We Canât Have Nice Things
Aquarius - Look What You Made Me Do
Pisces - New Years Day
Aries - I Did Something Bad
âI can feel the flames on my skin, crimson red paint on my lips, if a man talks shit then I owe him nothingâ
Oh come on. This song was practically written for Aries. Itâs completely unapologetic and refuses to waste energy worrying about being the villain in someone elseâs story. Aries doesnât need everyone to approve of them - they need to know theyâre being true to themselves. Theyâre bold, reactive, and always ready to meet a challenge head-on. Youâre going to threaten to set an Aries on fire? Theyâre not backing down, theyâre doubling down and daring you to try it several times over. Also, your girl is an Aries and has âlight me upâ literally tattooed on her body.
(Second choice: Gorgeous)
Taurus - King of My Heart
âSay you fancy me, not fancy stuff, baby all at once this is enough, and all at once you are the one I have been waiting forâ
Now itâs about time we gave Taurus something a little more sensual. Taurus often gets typecast as materialistic, but weâve been exploring what they actually value - comfort, devotion, loyalty, and a love where they can completely give themselves to someone and receive that same commitment in return. This is the deeply romantic, private side of Taurus - they arenât usually the type to fall quickly, but once they decide someone is the right fit, theyâre in it for the long haul. Theyâre looking for the person who makes them wonder, is this the end of all the endings?
(Second choice: Call It What You Want)
Gemini - Getaway Car
âWe were jet-set, Bonnie and Clyde, until I switched to the other side, to the other side, itâs no surprise I turned you inâ
Gemini is a mutable sign, which means they thrive on movement, change, and mental stimulation. They hate feeling bored or stagnant, and when a situation starts to feel limiting, theyâre often already looking for the exit route - chasing the need for escape, reinvention, and the thrill of something new. Gemini is also often associated with duality, and this song is practically built around it: logic versus emotion, stability versus excitement, feeling trapped versus planning an escape. Sometimes theyâre not just driving away, theyâre flying or dying in a getaway car.
(Second choice: âŠReady For It?)
Cancer - Call It What You Want
âAll the liars are calling me one, nobodyâs heard from me for months, I'm doing better than I ever wasâ
Ok yes, Cancers can be incredibly sensitive to criticism, but Call It What You Want captures a much deeper part of them - the instinct to retreat from the outside world and its opinions into a private space where they feel emotionally safe. Cancer values security, intimacy, and the people who truly understand them over the approval of everyone else. They often heal in private, drawing strength from their own inner world and the bonds they trust. That quiet resilience is what makes them so powerful - they may retreat into their shell, but they always come back stronger.
(Second choice: a curveball, Dress)
Leo - Delicate
âThis ainât for the best, my reputationâs never been worse so you must like me for meâ
I know what youâre thinking. In what universe does the word delicate equal Leo? But hear me out. This pick builds on the softer side of Leo - beneath the charisma and larger-than-life energy, they desperately want to be seen and accepted for who they really are. Delicate portrays that vulnerability perfectly - the moment where the spotlight fades and theyâre left wondering whether someone likes the real them. Leos hate feeling foolish in front of someone they care about, asking themselves if itâs cool that they said all that? Yes, Leo. Youâre still cooler than all of us.
(Second choice: Donât Blame Me)
Virgo - Dancing With Our Hands Tied
âIâm a mess but Iâm the mess that you wanted, oh cause itâs gravity, oh keeping you with meâ
Virgos could run a masterclass in anticipating disaster - and again, itâs because they care so deeply (donât tell them I told you that). This song is about a powerful, meaningful relationship where the narrator canât stop wondering whether outside forces will eventually tear it apart. That underlying desire to control the uncontrollable is incredibly Virgo - they want to protect what they love and fix problems before they happen. As a Mercury-ruled earth sign, Virgo is constantly balancing their practical mind with their very real emotional investment.
(Second choice: New Yearâs Day)
Libra - Dress
âEven in my worst lies you saw the truth in me, and I woke up just in time, now I wake up by your sideâ
Ok, the Venus signs are rightfully getting all the sultry songs now. Libra treats romance as an art form, and Dress captures both the passion and the emotional depth that they crave. On the surface, the song is provocative and magnetic, but underneath thereâs the desire for true intimacy. Libra isnât just looking for chemistry, they want a partner who understands them, acknowledges their imperfections, and chooses to stay when things get difficult. For the sign represented by the scales of balance, a relationship built on honesty, forgiveness, and mutual devotion is the ultimate form of romance.
(Second choice: Delicate)
Scorpio - Donât Blame Me
âSomething happened for the first time in the darkest little paradise, shaking, pacing, I just need youâ
Scorpios often experience love as something deeply transformative - almost like a spiritual awakening or a ritual rather than just a simple emotion. Donât Blame Me has that all-consuming intensity - the feeling of being changed by someone, consumed by a connection, and surrendering completely to the experience. Even the production of the track, with its huge gothic organ-infused sound and dramatic atmosphere, feels incredibly apt for them. And if love isnât life-altering, soul-shifting, and a little bit terrifying, Scorpio probably isnât interested.
(Second choice: Dancing With Our Hands Tied)
Sagittarius - âŠReady For It?
âAnd he can be my jailer, Burton to this Taylor, every love Iâve known in comparison is a failureâ
Adventurous possibilities? Yes. Potential danger? Never heard of her. This song perfectly Sagittariusâ love of excitement, challenge, and the thrill of stepping into the unknown. As a fire sign, they donât just want an easy victory - they want something that keeps them engaged, something that feels like an adventure worth chasing. A relationship presented like a high-stakes gamble is almost irresistible to them because they love testing boundaries. But the real attraction? A partner who can actually keep up with their energy, curiosity, and restless spirit. Swoon.
(Second choice: Getaway Car)
Capricorn - This Is Why We Canât Have Nice Things
âAnd hereâs to you, cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do⊠hahaha, I canât even say it with a straight faceâ
On the surface, this is a petty diss track (and an excellent one at that), but letâs look at the core message - trust is a privilege, and breaking that trust has consequences. Capricorns donât hand out their loyalty lightly, so when someone proves they canât be trusted, theyâre not going to ignore the lesson learned. That laugh halfway through the bridge isnât immaturity - itâs relief and the sound of someone finally putting down a burden they never should have been carrying. But also⊠itâs okay if itâs a little petty too.
(Second choice: End Game)
Aquarius - Look What You Made Me Do
âBut I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time, honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the timeâ
This track frequently gets assigned to Leo or Scorpio, but letâs consider Aquarius as one of the other fixed signs. Weâve been talking about the Aquarius desire to be their authentic self, and this often goes hand in hand with reinventing themselves. If youâve seen the music video for this youâll know exactly what Iâm talking about. This song is also a scathing commentary on public perception and Aquarius will simply answer, you donât get to define who I am. The old Aquarius canât come to the phone right nowâŠ
(Second choice: I Did Something Bad)
Pisces - New Yearâs Day
âYou and me forevermore, donât read the last page, but I stay, when it's hard or it's wrong or we're making mistakesâ
How fitting that we close the zodiac with the very last song on Reputation. Pisces understands that love isnât always built in the grand moments or the celebrations everyone sees. Sometimes, the deepest connections are formed in the quiet moments afterwards - when the party is over, the lights are dimmed, and someone stays behind to help clean up. This is the Pisces willingness to be there through the ordinary, messy, and vulnerable parts of life. They offer a compassionate, non-judgmental presence and often love people not just at their best, but at their most human.
Lover is all about love in all its forms - joy, devotion, flirtation, nostalgia, anxiety and the fear of losing something precious. It captures the zodiac at its most tender and hopeful, but also its most vulnerable - learning that sometimes the hardest part of love is believing youâre allowed to keep it.
Aries - The Man
Taurus - Paper Rings
Gemini - Cruel Summer
Cancer - Cornelia Street
Leo - I Think He Knows
Virgo - Afterglow
Libra - Death By A Thousand Cuts
Scorpio - False God
Sagittarius - The Archer
Capricorn - Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince
Aquarius - You Need To Calm Down
Pisces - Daylight
Aries - The Man
âIâd be a fearless leader, Iâd be an alpha type, when everyone believes ya, whatâs that like?â
Ariesâ planetary ruler is Mars, so what song better embodies its traditionally masculine, assertive energy than The Man? They typically have a natural desire to lead, take charge, and forge their own path, so when theyâre told theyâre being âtoo much,â theyâre going to start questioning why. Theyâre not a sign to be limited by other peopleâs expectations, and they certainly arenât interested in blindly accepting standards that donât make sense to them. They would much rather break the rules than ask permission to play the game.
(Second choice: Afterglow)
Taurus - Paper Rings
âI hate accidents except when we went from friends to this, uh huh, thatâs right, youâre the one I wantâ
Taurus usually gets assigned the title track for this album, but letâs give them something a little more unexpected. Weâve talked about Taurus being stereotyped as materialistic, and while being ruled by Venus does give them a deep appreciation for beauty, luxury, and material comfort, that isnât actually what they value most. Taurus craves emotional security just as much as physical comfort - expensive jewellery means very little if the person wearing it hasnât made a genuine commitment. For Taurus, the real luxury is knowing someone has chosen them completely and intends to stay.
(Second choice: False God)
Gemini - Cruel Summer
âFever dream high in the quiet of the night, you know that I caught itâ
Chaotic romantic energy? Tick. Secretly chronically overthinking? Tick. Pretending theyâre completely fine while internally spiralling? Tick. Cruel Summer captures Geminiâs tendency to experience love as something mentally exhilarating before theyâve even had time to figure out what they actually feel. Thereâs excitement, uncertainty, contradiction, and a million different thoughts happening at once. The entire song feels like someone trying to reason themselves out of a relationship while simultaneously becoming more emotionally invested by the second. Gemini can analyse a feeling to death, but eventually the mental gymnastics stop and the truth comes tumbling out.
(Second choice: London Boy)
Cancer - Cornelia Street
âI hope I never lose you, hope it never ends, I'd never walk Cornelia Street again, thatâs the kind of heartbreak time could never mendâ
Cancers are known for forming incredibly deep emotional attachments, and Cornelia Street takes that instinct and turns it into a love letter to a place, a person, and everything they represent. The fear running through the song isnât really about losing a street or a house - itâs about losing the memories, safety, intimacy, and sense of home attached to them. Cancer understands that places can hold emotions just as powerfully as people do. Even the narrator leaving halfway through the song feels incredibly Cancerian - when they sense emotional danger, their instinct is to retreat and protect themselves before they can be hurt.
(Second choice: Itâs Nice To Have A Friend)
Leo - I Think He Knows
âHe's so obsessed with me, and boy I understand, boy I understandâ
Leo frequently gets assigned ME! on this album, and while I absolutely agree with that choice, hear me out. I Think He Knows is Leo at their most confident, playful, flirtatious, and magnetic. Thereâs no insecurity here and this song radiates the kind of main-character energy that Leos channel better than anyone else, while still feeling warm and genuinely affectionate. Leo loves a relationship where admiration and affection can be expressed openly and enthusiastically, and this song has that in spades - it literally sounds like sunshine.
(Second choice: ME!)
Virgo - Afterglow
âTell me that you're still mine, tell me that we'll be just fine even when I lose my mindâ
Accountability matters deeply to Virgo. Weâve talked about how much they want to understand the why behind everything, and that instinct extends inward too. Virgo is often willing to examine their own behaviour honestly and ask whether they contributed to a problem, even when that means admitting they were wrong. Unlike their fellow earth signs, they can be surprisingly quick to apologise once theyâve had time to process a conflict. Rather than defensively shifting the blame, they step back, analyse what happened, identify where they went wrong, and look for a way to repair it - Afterglow is that plea for forgiveness and reassurance.
(Second choice: The Man)
Libra - Death By A Thousand Cuts
âI dress to kill my time, I take the long way home, I ask the traffic lights if it'll be all right, they say I don't know"
If you were wondering which sign is most likely to ask an inanimate object for relationship advice, itâs probably a Libra. Libras instinctively seek partnership, balance, and harmony in their lives, and this song describes what happens when that equilibrium suddenly shatters. Itâs filled with the tiny reminders of a life that was once shared, each one becoming another little wound. Libra can put so much of themselves into their relationships that when one ends, it can feel as though theyâve lost more than a partner â theyâve lost part of their own identity. Suddenly the familiar world feels unfamiliar, and even the objects around them seem to have something to say about whatâs missing.
(Second choice: All Of The Girls You Loved Before)
Scorpio - False God
âWe might just get away with it, the altar is my hips even if it's a false god, weâd still worship this loveâ
We talked about how love and intimacy can almost become a religious experience for Scorpioâs Reputation song, and this pick continues that narrative beautifully. This isnât just âScorpio gets the song about sexâ, itâs Scorpio getting the song where trust, love, intimacy, and devotion become something almost sacred. Scorpio craves emotional depth and complete vulnerability, and for them, physical intimacy can be an extension of that trust rather than something separate from it. If Donât Blame Me is a Scorpio in the beginning throes of a relationship, then False God is what comes afterwards.
(Second choice: Cornelia Street)
Sagittarius - The Archer
âI jump from the train, I ride off alone, I never grew up, it's getting so old, help me hold onto youâ
Listen. I really wanted to play devilâs advocate here and give this song to a different sign (Aquarius), but this is undeniably Taylorâs deeply self-aware tribute to her own Sun sign. Sagittarius may look fearless, optimistic, and endlessly adventurous on the outside, but underneath that confidence can be some surprisingly big questions. Why do they want to run when things get serious? What happens if they stop chasing the next horizon long enough to actually stay somewhere? And perhaps the biggest question of all, will someone love them enough to understand their restlessness without trying to change them?
(Second choice - Cruel Summer)
Capricorn - Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince
âThe whole school is rolling fake dice, you play stupid games you win stupid prizes, itâs you and me, thereâs nothing like thisâ
Aside from being one of Taylorâs most political songs, the imagery here pits a relationship against a complicated world of responsibilities, external pressure, and failing hierarchies - which feels incredibly Capricorn. They take systems, rules, and expectations seriously, so when something they believed in begins to crumble, they can take that failure very personally. This song highlights that feeling of watching an established structure fall apart while still desperately trying to find something worth believing in. But even under the weight of disappointment, Capricornâs ruling planet Saturn reminds them that endurance is key. They may bend under pressure, but their resilience is extraordinary - and ultimately, itâs what sees them through.
(Second choice: I Forgot That You Existed)
Aquarius - You Need To Calm Down
âYou just need to take several seats and then try to restore the peace and control your urges to scream about all the people you hateâ
I love this pick for Aquarius. Their planetary ruler, Uranus, champions change, innovation, rebellion, and freedom, and this song channels that energy into a very direct rejection of intolerance. The song challenges homophobia, online hate, and the broader tendency to attack anyone who dares to exist outside the status quo. Aquarius is often deeply concerned with collective progress and the idea that individuality should be protected rather than punished. For Aquarius, the message is simple: everyone deserves the freedom to be themselves without being judged for it.
(Second choice: The Archer)
Pisces - Daylight
âAnd I can still see it all in my mind, all of you, all of me, intertwinedâ
This song isnât just about falling in love; itâs about seeing the entire world differently because of it. For Pisces, love can transform their perception of everything around them, making life feel softer, brighter, and full of possibility. Rather than something all-consuming or destined to burn out quickly, their ideal of true love is gentle, healing, and almost dreamlike - something that brings them back to themselves rather than overwhelming them. The song ends with a beautiful spoken-word memo that perfectly expresses Piscesâ idealistic belief in empathy, compassion and love.
folklore is an album of stories, secrets, memories and imagined lives - a world where fact and fiction blur and every emotion becomes part of a larger narrative. It captures the zodiac at its most introspective and elusive - exploring how we remember, romanticise, misunderstand and reinvent the stories we tell about ourselves and others.
Aries - my tears ricochet
Taurus - peace
Gemini - the 1
Cancer - cardigan
Leo - the last great american dynasty
Virgo - exile
Libra - mirrorball
Scorpio - mad woman
Sagittarius - august
Capricorn - this is me trying
Aquarius - hoax
Pisces - the lakes
Aries - my tears ricochet
âI didn't have it in myself to go with grace, and so the battleships will sink beneath the wavesâ
Aries are well known for their tempers that burn hot and fast, but what happens when someone betrays their core values of honesty and respect? They tend to be incredibly straightforward - they say what they mean, and they expect that same directness in return. When someone deliberately crosses that line, especially through calculated betrayal, their respect can disappear instantly and permanently. They may have lost this battle, but theyâll confront the betrayal and absolutely make you sit with the truth of what you did.
(Second choice: mad woman)
Taurus - peace
âAnd you know that I'd swing with you for the fences, sit with you in the trenchesâ
Weâve talked a lot about how Taurus loves other people, so letâs look at how they views themselves. This song captures Taurus at their most vulnerable - not promising a perfect, effortless life, but promising that they will always show up and keep their word. Taurus understands that stability doesnât mean everything is easy, it means having someone who remains steady when things become difficult. The uncertainty that weaves throughout the song feels very human, but one thing is never in doubt - once Taurus chooses you, their devotion runs deep.
(Second choice: invisible string)
Gemini - the 1
âIn my defense I have none for never leaving well enough alone, but it would've been fun if you would've been the oneâ
The most Gemini thing about this song is that it doesnât demand an answer. Itâs not a desperate plea to rewrite history or a bitter reflection on what went wrong - itâs simple curiosity. This song looks back on a relationship, considers all the choices that werenât made, and wonders about the alternate paths that could have existed. Gemini is naturally fascinated by possibilities, the what-ifs, and the endless versions of a story that could have unfolded. Itâs a thoughtful exploration of another reality, imagining it, analysing it, and appreciating the story that almost was.
(Second choice: exile)
Cancer - cardigan
âAnd when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed, you put me on and said I was your favouriteâ
For our Lover pick, we talked about Cancerâs ability to attach deep emotional meaning to places and things, and cardigan is another beautiful example of that. The cardigan itself becomes a symbol of comfort, familiarity, and being held onto. Cancers often love with incredible depth, but they can also carry the fear that the love they give so freely wonât be cherished or returned in the same way. This song speaks to that longing to be remembered, valued, and recognised for the emotional imprint they leave behind. It conveys Cancerâs gift for turning love into something lasting that cannot simply be discarded or forgotten.
(Second choice: seven)
Leo - the last great american dynasty
âThere goes the loudest woman this town has ever seen, I had a marvelous time ruining everythingâ
I love this pick for Leo. This song isnât just about the life of an eccentric socialite - itâs a celebration of someone whose life became unforgettable. Rebekah never apologises for who she is, and Leo can deeply relate to that desire to own their own narrative rather than let other people define them. Itâs not simply âlook at me and my lifeâ, itâs âthis is my life and this who I amâ. This song takes someone hounded by the darkness of gossip and rumours, and brings them into the light of appreciation and admiration - very fitting for a sign ruled by the sun.
(Second choice: mirrorball)
Virgo - exile
âI think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending, youâre not my homeland anymore, so what am I defending now?â
Weâve talked extensively about Virgo and their relationship with communication, and exile might be one of the most Virgo-coded heartbreak songs in Taylorâs catalogue. On the surface, itâs a breakup duet, but underneath itâs filled with pattern recognition, miscommunications, and two people who are interpreting the same situation in completely different ways - all themes closely tied to Virgo and their Mercury rulership. If our previous album choice, Afterglow, is about Virgo seeking to fix something, exile is Virgo when that something is irreparable.
(Second choice: this is me trying)
Libra - mirrorball
âI'll show you every version of yourself tonight, I'll get you out on the floor, shimmering beautiful, and when I break it's in a million piecesâ
Personally for me this is one of Taylorâs strongest Libra-coded songs. Libra often gets labelled simply as a people pleaser - but letâs look a little deeper than that. They strive for harmony, which sometimes translates as, I want everyone around me to be happy even if I have to change myself to do that. A mirrorball reflects light, and a Libra will often naturally adapt themselves to different people. This isnât because theyâre fake or because they donât know who they are, itâs because theyâre just really, really good at making other people feel seen.
(Second choice: the 1)
Scorpio - mad woman
âDoes a scorpion sting when fighting back? They strike to kill and you know I willâ
Weâve talked about how Scorpios feel everything with incredible intensity, and this song explores what happens when someone tries to weaponise those emotions against them. Scorpio understands that some people will only ever see the surface - theyâll mistake passion for anger, boundaries for coldness, and intensity for something to fear. Scorpio simply says, you donât get to define me. They know they may be misunderstood, but rather than being defeated by the labels placed on them, Scorpio turns them into power. If theyâre going to be painted as the villain, theyâll at least make sure they own the story.
(Second choice: my tears ricochet)
Sagittarius - august
âRemember when I pulled up and said get in the car, and then cancelled my plans just in case you'd call, back when I was living for the hope of it allâ
I get it - on the surface, this doesnât immediately look or sound like a Sagittarius song. But hear me out. Sagittariusâ ruling planet, Jupiter, is associated with exploration, and while people often interpret that as a literal love of travel, it also speaks to their love of experiences, growth, and meaningful moments. august captures the Sagittarian ability to embrace something beautiful without needing to possess it forever. They understand that some connections are meant to be chapters rather than entire stories, and that doesnât make them any less valuable. To âlive for the hope of it allâ feels almost like Jupiterâs personal motto.
(Second choice: the last great american dynasty)
Capricorn - this is me trying
âAnd maybe I don't quite know what to say, I just wanted you to know that this is me trying, at least I'm tryingâ
There are few songs that represent Capricorn more perfectly than this is me trying. Theyâre often generalised as workaholics, and while they certainly donât shy away from hard work, the defining Capricorn trait for me is endurance. This song captures someone standing in the middle of something that didnât go according to plan and saying, Iâm still showing up, Iâm still here, Iâm still trying. Capricorn understands that progress isnât always dramatic or visible - sometimes the greatest achievement is simply continuing when things feel difficult.
(Second choice: peace)
Aquarius - hoax
âYou knew the password so I let you in the door, you knew you won so what's the point of keeping score?â
While many people assign this song to one of the water signs, I think a really strong argument can be made for Aquarius. They put so much belief and resolve into their ideals, so if those ideals end up breaking it feels like a loss of faith. They have a reputation for being emotionally detached, but letâs look at that as self-protection. They very rarely let people in, so when they do and that person breaks their heart, suddenly that self-protection collapses into total disillusionment. They havenât just lost a relationship, theyâve lost their belief that this one was different.
(Second choice: epiphany)
Pisces - the lakes
âI want auroras and sad prose, I want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet, cause I haven't moved in years and I want you right hereâ
Frequently cast as the zodiacâs dreamer, poet, and mystic, Pisces has always had a complicated relationship with reality, and the lakes captures that beautifully. Their instinct to escape isnât necessarily about running away from life, itâs about finding somewhere quiet enough to process what theyâre feeling and allow their soul to heal. There is always another layer beneath the sadness too - a belief that beauty, imagination, and love still exist somewhere beyond the noise. This song feels like Pisces choosing to step away from the world, not because theyâve given up on it, but because they believe life is ultimately bigger than its disappointments.
evermore is about surviving the things that change us - grief, regret, loneliness, acceptance and the quiet hope that comes after the storm. It captures the zodiac at its most weathered and wise - finding beauty in complexity and reminding us that even when we canât see the way forward, weâre still moving toward something.
Aries - closure
Taurus - ivy
Gemini - long story short
Cancer - âtis the damn season
Leo - champagne problems
Virgo - right where you left me
Libra - happiness
Scorpio - willow
Sagittarius - cowboy like me
Capricorn - tolerate it
Aquarius - itâs time to go
Pisces - coney island
Aries - closure
âDonât treat me like some situation that needs to be handledâ
I feel like this is going to be a love it or hate it choice (but as an Aries itâs one of my personal favourites). closure is a great representation of an outright refusal to let someone try and rebuild a bridge to repair a relationship, and Aries is famous for burning bridges. They tend to excel at setting boundaries, so even though the song itself is a bit chaotic and messy, Aries donât lose their power here. It chooses independence over reconciliation, reinforcing boundaries over accepting a fake or insincere apology, retaining their autonomy over letting someone else dictate the terms. Theyâre fine with their spite.
(Second choice: itâs time to go)
Taurus - ivy
âMy house of stone, your ivy grows, and now Iâm covered in youâ
This might be the most natural pick on the entire album - the song is practically rooted in fixed earth energy. If we set the affair aspect aside and focus on the imagery and metaphors, ivy grows slowly, patiently, and almost imperceptibly. By the time you notice it, itâs already established, deeply rooted, and incredibly difficult to remove. Thatâs how love often grows for Taurus. As a fixed sign, Taurus is deeply resistant to change, so thereâs something beautifully fitting about the tension between an established, secure life and a love that quietly keeps growing regardless. Taurus doesnât always chase love - sometimes they simply realise it has already taken root.
(Second choice: tolerate it)
Gemini - long story short
âPushed from the precipice, climbed right back up the cliff, long story short, I survivedâ
Similar to my folklore pick for Gemini, this song feels like a conversation with a friend over coffee or cocktails. Itâs a story that jumps from the past to the present, which is also a theme weâve explored before for them. Gemini also shares a planetary ruler with Virgo, but where Virgo is methodical and quiet in their communication, Gemini is fast-moving and witty - which is exactly how this song feels. Itâs charismatic storytelling rather than an introspective examination. And weâve all probably had a conversation with a Gemini where they said âlong story shortâ then monologued for 4 minutes straight.
(Second choice: dorothea)
Cancer - âtis the damn season
âThe road not taken looks real good now, and it always leads to you and my hometownâ
Cancer is ruled by the moon, which governs (among other things) memories, childhood/adolescence, and the concept of home. This song is the perfect combination of these three elements. I fear Iâm repeating myself but this is another great example of Cancer attaching specific memories to people and places, and drawing emotional comfort from those memories. Nostalgia? Check. Returning to their hometown? Check. Finding comfort in familiar things? Check. Theyâre even willing to enter into something they know is temporary simply due to the emotional weight it carries.
(Second choice: marjorie)
Leo - champagne problems
âOne for the money, two for the show, I never was ready so I watch you goâ
Weâve been exploring some unconventional choices for the signs during this project, and this one is no exception. But hear me out, champagne problems is arguably evermoreâs most cinematic song - thereâs a public proposal, expensive champagne, a dramatic rejection⊠it all gives off a very main-character energy that feels distinctly Leo. They are incredibly warm-hearted and compassionate people, and thereâs a distinct thread of guilt that runs through the song - an evolved Leo will continue to care about someone even if theyâre the one causing the hurt. (Iâd be remiss not to also mention the fact that the champagne problems performances got the longest applause during the Eras tour. Do with that what you will.)
(Second choice: gold rush)
Virgo - right where you left me
âHelp, I'm still at the restaurant, still sitting in a corner I hauntâ
Weâre starting to examine the shadow sides of some of the zodiac signs, and right where you left me is a prime example of the endless, exhausting loop that Virgo can sometimes end up in. For a sign so connected to routine and progression, finding themselves mentally stuck at the table while time passes around them is a uniquely Virgo nightmare. Weâve made other choices for them based on them desperately wanting to understand why things are the way they are, so what happens when they canât stop examining some unresolved? Theyâre still at the restaurant.
(Second choice: long story short)
Libra - happiness
âAcross our great divide there is a glorious sunrise dappled with the flickers of light from the dress I wore at midnightâ
This song makes a beautiful callback to my Fearless assignment for Libra. Weâre going through another breakup and weâre still processing it in a very aesthetic, Venusian kind of way. Weâve talked a lot about the balance and harmony that Libra represents - this song explores the idea that two opposing statements can be true at the same time. Some Libras may avoid conflict altogether, but this is Libra at their most emotionally mature - sitting with the contradiction, acknowledging the hurt without erasing the love, and accepting that something can have been beautiful and painful simultaneously. Itâs heartbreak, but beautifully balanced.
(Second choice: gold rush)
Scorpio - willow
âWait for the signal and Iâll meet you after dark, show me the places where the others gave you scarsâ
I absolutely love this for Scorpio. And I can hear you screaming for no body, no crime, but Iâd like to give Scorpio the emotional depth they deserve rather than just âI suspect my friendâs asshole husband killed her so I will exact my vengeanceâ. Our running theme for Scorpio seems to be love as a religious experience - willow paints it as an almost otherworldly ritual. Itâs an external force pulling them towards someone that they canât help but follow. This is not âI fancy youâ. Itâs âIâm drawn to you in ways I canât explain, I want to know all of your deepest darkest secrets, you have altered the course of my entire life.â
(Second choice: alright FINE no body, no crime)
Sagittarius - cowboy like me
âYou're a bandit like me, eyes full of stars, hustling for the good life, never thought I'd meet you hereâ
The setting and characters of this song are almost blindingly Sagittarian - two wanderers who make their own rules, refuse to be pinned down, and drift through life from one experience to the next. Then somehow, against all odds, they fall in love. Sagittarius is frequently mislabelled as commitment-phobic, when really, theyâre wary of anything that feels like a cage. They donât necessarily fear commitment, they fear losing themselves within it. This song represents the kind of relationship Sagittarius actually wants - someone who understands their need for freedom, doesnât try to tame them, and is willing to keep moving alongside them.
(Second choice: dorothea)
Capricorn - tolerate it
âIf it's all in my head tell me now, tell me I've got it wrong somehow, I know my love should be celebratedâ
Listen, I know by now it might seem like I hate Capricorns because this is maximum emotional damage here. But you guys are my favourite and youâre the only ones strong enough to take it okay. This song forms a really continuous narrative from our folklore pick - what happens when it turns out all the effort theyâve been putting in was for nothing? Saturn teaches them a big lesson here - love isnât a thing you can earn. And that can really mess with their heads. Although theyâre incredibly good at setting boundaries, their sense of duty and responsibility can keep them in toxic situations long after they shouldâve left. Their redemption? That outro.
(Second choice: âtis the damn season)
Aquarius - itâs time to go
âThat old familiar body ache, the snaps from the same little breaks in my soul, you know when itâs time to goâ
Weâve talked a little about Aquarius and the values that help them make sense of the world. When the reality of a situation no longer aligns with those principles, they can experience an almost irresistible impulse to simply walk away. Theyâre not detached because theyâre unemotional, itâs just that by the time everyone else realises whatâs going on, Aquarius has been internally contemplating the same thing for months and has already made a decision about it. Their fixed nature means that once theyâve reached a conclusion, changing their mind can be incredibly difficult.
(Second choice: closure)
Pisces - coney island
âWill you forgive my soul when you're too wise to trust me and too old to care?â
Again weâve ended on the final track of the album (not including the bonus tracks) for Pisces and it just feels right. Depending on the tone you get from the song it can either be bitingly sarcastic or, if we look at it from a Piscean point of view, a bittersweet reflection on a failing relationship. Itâs quietly melancholy rather than angry - a collection of memories and stories that the narrator wanders through. It feels like a hazy dream sequence with no linear timeline or structure, which is very representative of their planetary ruler, Neptune. We couldnât have ended on a more different track to our opening song - Aries doesnât need someone elseâs closure but Pisces finishes our list by sitting with the memories and asking for forgiveness anyway.
Midnights is a collection of sleepless thoughts, old wounds, secret desires, self-sabotage and the uncomfortable truths that surface when the world goes quiet. It captures the zodiac at its most unguarded and contemplative - when every sign is left alone with its memories, its insecurities and the questions it tries not to ask in daylight.
Aries - The Great War
Taurus - Sweet Nothing
Gemini - Hits Different
Cancer - Maroon
Leo - Bejeweled
Virgo - Anti-Hero
Libra - Paris
Scorpio - Wouldâve, Couldâve, Shouldâve
Sagittarius - Karma
Capricorn - Youâre On Your Own, Kid
Aquarius - Dear Reader
Pisces - Snow On The Beach
Aries - The Great War
âThere's no morning glory, it was war it wasn't fair, and we will never go back to that bloodshed, crimson cloverâ
Aries is ruled by Mars which is the planet of war, so yes this seemed like a glaringly obvious pick. But letâs move past the âAries likes to fightâ generalisation and look a little closer. The Great War details a relationship fraught with conflict. Aries doesnât usually trust easily, despite appearing the opposite on the surface, so when something threatens them, they tend to meet that threat with direct confrontation, even if that results in war. The subsequent character arc is beautiful for a healed Aries - itâs the realisation that the biggest enemy can sometimes be themselves. This is an Aries that has been through the battle and is choosing peace without losing their fire.
(Second choice: Bejeweled)
Taurus - Sweet Nothing
âAnd the voices that implore, you should be doing more, to you I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of itâ
With this project Iâve been trying to build a consistent narrative for each sign and also challenge some of the stereotypes, so Sweet Nothing felt like a seamless choice for Taurus. Again, we move away from Taurus being reduced to âthey like nice thingsâ. They want stability, emotional security, and a relationship where they donât have to constantly prove their worth. Their reputation for stubbornness often hides a deeply gentle and sensual person (they are ruled by Venus, after all). This song also links beautifully to our folklore pick for Taurus because it asks the same question - can they simply exist around someone and still be loved?
(Second choice: Maroon)
Gemini - Hits Different
âBet I could still melt your world, argumentative, antithetical dream girlâ
This entire album couldâve been written by Mercury so I went through about five choices before settling on this for Gemini. It follows on nicely from our last few choices, since it feels like being inside someoneâs mind thatâs firing in a million different directions at once at an impossible speed. This song is full of some of Taylorâs most linguistically playful lyrics which is very representative of Geminiâs love of witty conversation and clever turns of phrase. Theyâre never shy about poking fun at themselves either, reminding us that theyâre in on the joke even when theyâre hurting - humour is a classic Gemini coping mechanism and Hits Different is arguably one of Taylorâs funniest songs.
(Second choice: Labyrinth)
Cancer - Maroon
âAnd I wake with your memory over me, thatâs a real fucking legacy to leaveâ
Weâre continuing to prove the interconnected-ness of folklore + evermore by assigning Cancer another song that pieces together a relationship (in this case, the breakup of one) through fragments of memories. Weâre building on Cancer anchoring memories to tangible objects and places - the t-shirt, the wine, telephones, New York, carnations, roses. Itâs the preservation of a thousand different little things and moments that made up the relationship - a very lunar concept. Although the love has turned from a bright, vibrant red to a darker, faded maroon, Cancer remembers it all and carries it with them years later.
(Second choice: Lavender Haze)
Leo - Bejeweled
âI made you my world, have you heard I can reclaim the land? And I miss you, but I miss sparklingâ
Okay I couldnât not pick this for Leo. But rather than settle on âgive Leo the flashiest songâ, letâs look past Bejeweledâs glittery synth-pop exterior and look at the underlying themes. Weâve built a story for Leo around how much they know their own worth. What happens when someone takes advantage of their incredible compassion and generosity? Theyâre eventually going to make sure they remind you of their worth. They get stereotyped as egotistical, but Bejeweled isnât them saying âIâm better than youâ, itâs them reclaiming their confidence and reminding us you can no more ask a diamond to stop sparkling than you could ask the sun to stop shining.
(Second choice: Karma)
Virgo - Anti-Hero
âIâll stare directly in the sun but never in the mirror, it must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-heroâ
Virgo and Gemini share a planetary ruler so I also went through a couple of options for them (and they fought over a lot of the same songs for a while there). If right where you left me is Virgo quietly analysing a situation, Anti-Hero is them quietly analysing themselves. Itâs an existential spiral. At 3am. They have a reputation for being perfectionists but itâs not because theyâre uptight, itâs because they care so deeply and often have a deep desire to fix things. And this song is not necessarily completely self-blaming, thereâs that signature mercurial wit and sarcasm that Virgos embody so well.
(Second choice: Dear Reader)
Libra - Paris
âStumbled down pretend alleyways, cheap wine, make believe it's champagne, I was taken by the viewâ
I originally had a completely different song lined up for Libra, but the more I thought about it, this seemed like the perfect pick for them. Paris is essentially someone romanticising life for three minutes straight, and thereâs no sign that does that quite like a Libra. Itâs not letâs actually go to Paris, itâs letâs create the feeling of Paris wherever we are. One of their biggest stereotypes is that theyâre fake, which is an incredibly shallow interpretation - ok sure, they want to pretend theyâre in Paris and drink cheap wine and call it champagne, but theyâre acknowledging itâs a pretence and choosing to create something beautiful for someone anyway.
(Second choice: Question)
Scorpio - Wouldâve, Couldâve, Shouldâve
âIf clarity's in death, then why won't this die? Years of tearing down our banners, you and Iâ
The last few picks for this sign are doing a lot of heavy lifting work for the argument that Taylorâs rising sign is Scorpio - WCS is no exception. Letâs talk about it. Their modern planetary ruler is Pluto, which rules transformation, power, and rebirth. And again, weâre not just assigning Scorpio one of the darkest songs, weâre assigning them the song that asks, what did this dark experience turn me into? What can I reclaim from this? Scorpioâs shadow side can have them replaying the past constantly and becoming fixated on getting answers but itâs because they are so emotionally perceptive that they need to know the full truth of a situation before they can accept it and reclaim what theyâve lost.
(Second choice: Vigilante Shit)
Sagittarius - Karma
âAsk me why so many fade, but I'm still hereâ
Sagittariusâ ruling planet is Jupiter, who is responsible for luck, higher truths and optimism (among other things). This encourages them to often look at the bigger picture of things. Sagittarius isnât usually interested in revenge, and they donât tend to like manipulation or hidden agendas. Even when theyâve been hurt, their instincts are generally to learn from the experience and then move forward - theyâre not one to stay stuck in someone elseâs story because theyâre too busy living their best life and trusting that the universe has got it handled. Karma really delivers that message with Sagittariusâ signature blend of blunt honesty and humour.
(Second choice: Midnight Rain)
Capricorn - Youâre On Your Own, Kid
âCause there were pages turned with the bridges burned, everything you lose is a step you takeâ
Our last few picks for Capricorn have been heavy on the emotional damage, but that now means the most iconic song on Midnights belongs to them. Weâve talked about their planetary ruler (Saturn) before and how it governs responsibility, discipline and hard work. It also rules over time and aging, and YOYOK is very much a coming-of-age lesson. Capricorns are so often reduced to the stereotype of ambitious, or only caring about success, but what theyâre really about is achievements through experience. After all their this-is-me-trying moments and their tolerate-it struggles, every painful situation theyâve been through becomes part of who they are because they were already enough to begin with. That is the quintessential Saturnian lesson.
(Second choice: Mastermind)
Aquarius - Dear Reader
âBurn all the files, desert all your past lives, and if you don't recognize yourself, that means you did it rightâ
Weâve been trying to dismantle some of the stereotypes throughout this series, and this pick can help us do that for Aquarius. Theyâre not weird or quirky, they just highly value independent thinking. Theyâre not detached, theyâre just incredibly gifted at expressing their feelings through ideas and concepts rather than big displays of emotion. Theyâre also not usually interested in hero worship, they donât want people to all think the same thing. Dear Reader is them saying look, I donât have all the answers either, but I can empower you to think for yourself. Question authority, question advice, even mine. This song is incredibly, wonderfully paradoxical, just like Aquarius themselves.
(Second choice: Glitch)
Pisces - Snow On The Beach
âFlying in a dream, stars by the pocketful, you wanting me tonight feels impossibleâ
Piscesâ modern planetary ruler is Neptune, which governs dreams, imagination and the subconscious. Thereâs no song on Midnights that feels like a dream sequence more than Snow On The Beach. It blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, which is where Pisces thrives. They donât really need things to make logical sense, this is a love that is happening around them and theyâre just in awe of it. This song captures that quintessential childlike Pisces wonder, and whatâs beautiful is that Pisces still remains open to that wonder and amazement even if theyâve been disappointed before.
The Tortured Poets Department is an album of obsession, heartbreak, anger, fantasy, and the messy process of turning pain into art when we romanticise the wreckage and pick apart our own stories. It captures the zodiac at its most unfiltered and self-aware - finding poetry in the places we probably should have left alone.
Aries - But Daddy I Love Him
Taurus - Guilty As Sin?
Gemini - The Tortured Poets Department
Cancer - The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
Leo - I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
Virgo - My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys
Libra - Fresh Out The Slammer
Scorpio - Whoâs Afraid Of Little Old Me?
Sagittarius - Florida!!!
Capricorn - So Long, London
Aquarius - Down Bad
Pisces - loml
Aries - But Daddy I Love Him
âIâd rather burn my whole life down than listen to one more second of all this bitching and moaningâ
This is not Aries being angry or reckless (ok it is a little bit), this is Aries once again refusing to let other people dictate the terms of their life. Yes, Mars is aggression, but more than that, itâs personal agency. Aries would much rather have the chance to make their own decisions and deal with whatever subsequent fallout than have someone make them for them. Theyâre not really in the habit of asking for permission for things, and they rarely ask for forgiveness afterwards for that matter. And you know, sometimes when everyone around us is saying no, that just makes us want to do the thing even more.
Taurus - Guilty As Sin?
âIf it's make believe, why does it feel like a vow weâll both uphold somehow?â
This song is absolutely dripping with Venusian hedonism. Venus is the planet of desire and you could probably sum up this entire song with that single word. Earth signs often feel their emotions physically - there are no real convoluted metaphors here (except maybe the bridge), and even though the whole song is very much a fantasy, everything is described in a very physical way. The fantasy is also worth nothing, as Taurus can move incredibly slowly in love, and this song sits right in the moment before something actually happens - it even luxuriates in it. Itâs not loud, but itâs persistent and sensual - Taurus to a tee.
Gemini - The Tortured Poets Department
âEveryone we know understands why it's meant to be, âcause we're crazyâ
Weâve talked about Geminiâs affinity for conversation before, and the title track is no exception. Itâs like eavesdropping on two people flirting through conversation for nearly five minutes - thereâs niche references, inside jokes, common interests⊠and thatâs often the quickest way to Geminiâs heart. They get stereotyped as duplicitous but this isnât usually the case, theyâre just so adaptable and have minds sharp enough to keep up with multiple topics at once. This track switches between sarcasm, flirting, banter, melancholy and sincerity so often that it would give almost any other sign whiplash.
Cancer - The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
âAnd in plain sight you hid, but you are what you did, and I'll forget you but I'll never forgive the smallest man who ever livedâ
Oh lord. After giving them so many beautiful emotional songs about love, now weâre getting into vengeful Cancer. As a sign ruled by the moon, theyâre all about emotional safety, and when someone betrays their trust and threatens that, the claws come out and theyâre ready to crush something. Cancers have a powerful emotional memory, and this song is an itemised list of evidence straight from their library of past hurts. Sure, theyâre generally forgiving, but if you really push them too far, their instinct is going to be to cut you off completely to protect themselves.
Leo - I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
âLights, camera, bitch smile, even when you wanna dieâ
This song frequently gets assigned to Capricorn but hear me out. I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is all about performance, and nobody does that better than a Leo. Unless youâre in their inner circle, Leos arenât even going to admit to you that theyâre struggling. This is very much the shadow side of their pride - sometimes theyâre just so good at the performance that people donât see whatâs going on underneath. This song also calls back nicely to our Red pick, The Lucky One. Leos are always going to keep shining, even if it costs them to do so.
Virgo - My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys
âCause it fit too right, puzzle pieces in the dead of night, shouldâve known it was a matter of timeâ
I love this pick for Virgo. Weâve talked extensively about Virgos wanting to understand why things happen, and thatâs exactly what this entire song is. Theyâre identifying patterns, replaying conversations, examining motivations⊠and wrapping it all up in a very elegant, very Mercurial metaphor. Weâve also talked about their reputation for wanting to fix things, because if they can just understand the problem then maybe they can come up with the perfect solution. This song is especially heartbreaking for them because sometimes things, or people, just canât be fixed.
Libra - Fresh Out The Slammer
âNow pretty baby, I'm running back home to you, fresh out the slammer I know who my first call will be toâ
I think this is going to be a divisive choice for Libra. They frequently get assigned something more obviously romantic, but letâs get into it (weâre also going to ignore who this song is speculatively about and look at from a purely astrology point of view). This is Libra walking away from a toxic relationship and considering what kind of love they actually deserve. Libras often define themselves through partnership, and when a relationship becomes confining, they often seek a way to restore the balance and sometimes thatâs through walking away. They can be stereotyped as always wanting to be with someone, but I think here theyâre actually choosing something hopeful and refusing to lose their belief in love. Theyâre not saying romance is completely dead, rather that theyâve survived something challenging, and now their heart is free to choose what they want.
Scorpio - Whoâs Afraid Of Little Old Me?
âWell you should be, âcause you lured me, and you hurt me, and you taught me, you caged me then you called me crazyâ
Ah the female rage song. Part of me was tempted to give this to Aries, but inevitably it was always going to be Scorpio. One of our running themes for them has been about reclaiming their power, and this song is the poster child for that. This is a Scorpio who has been belittled, humiliated and betrayed, and instead of breaking, they have come out the other side more powerful than ever. And letâs not forget that Scorpio is a water sign, so theyâre absolutely going to carry past hurts with them. But where Cancer withdraws and Pisces escapes, Scorpio transforms.
Sagittarius - Florida!!!
âI need to forget, so take me to Florida, I've got some regrets, I'll bury them in Floridaâ
Again, weâre not simply assigning Sagittarius the song about travelling - letâs talk about what Sagittarius is actually looking for. Jupiter is the planet of expansion - if Sagittarius feels that their life is too small or confining, it can make them incredibly restless. Florida!!! really conveys that instinct to change your surroundings in the hope that a new perspective, new experience, or new location might change everything else too. It isnât necessarily avoidance, sometimes Sagittarius just genuinely believes thereâs something better waiting somewhere beyond the horizon.
Capricorn - So Long, London
âJust how low did you think I'd go before I'd self-implode, before I'd have to go be free?â
Ok so weâre back to emotionally damaging the Capricorns, cool. Our themes for Capricorn so far have been very centred around endurance and resilience - and they can withstand more things than most. But thereâs the slow, heartbreaking final realisation that theyâve been carrying this relationship alone. They acknowledge theyâve done everything they could to save things and now itâs time to let it go - this is a very evolved Capricorn lesson. The point isnât the failure of the relationship, itâs the wisdom to know that it didnât fail because they stopped loving, and it isnât theirs to carry anymore.
Aquarius - Down Bad
âShow me that this world is bigger than us, then sent me back where I came fromâ
Thereâs a longstanding stereotype of Aquarius being the alien of the zodiac, so letâs do what we do best and look at what that actually means here. Down Bad details a relationship so extraordinary that when it breaks down the narrator is confronted with having to return to the ordinary. Which Aquarius tends to rebel against. Also when they feel deeply, they often express those feelings through complex thought, and Down Bad is an entire song trying to rationalise an impossible feeling through a very Aquarian metaphor. Was it real? Why did it happen? How do I explain this abduction to someone who hasnât experienced this? And if you make an Aquarius cry in public, you probably deserve every ounce of the fuck-you theyâre going to give you.
Pisces - loml
âI wish I could un-recall how we almost had it allâ
Itâs about time I started bullying another sign other than Caps and Virgos. This isnât just Pisces mourning a person, this is Pisces mourning something they truly believed in. Pisces are the sign most associated with soulmates, and thatâs because they usually fall in love with the entire universe they build around someone as much as the person themselves. loml is what happens when that universe, that belief system collapses. And they wish they could let it go but they often hold on to the version of the person they wanted long after the breakdown. The most heartbreaking lesson for Pisces here is that the fantasy they wanted and believed in was real, until it wasnât.
The Anthology is an album of aftermaths - quieter grief, complicated memories, lingering questions and the strange clarity that arrives when the dust finally settles. Where the main album lives in the intensity of the moment, the second half looks back from the other side, capturing the zodiac at its most reflective, haunted and quietly resilient - finding meaning in what remains and making peace with the stories that canât be rewritten.
Aries - Cassandra
Taurus - The Prophecy
Gemini - imgonnagetyouback
Cancer - Peter
Leo - The Albatross
Virgo - How Did It End?
Libra - The Manuscript
Scorpio - The Black Dog
Sagittarius - The Bolter
Capricorn - thanK you aIMee
Aquarius - Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
Pisces - I Hate It Here
Aries - Cassandra
âWhen it's burn the bitch they're shrieking, when the truth comes out, it's quietâ
You know by now how much I love an unconventional choice, so letâs get right into it. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the pioneer. While not prophetic in the mythical sense, they have very strong instincts and intuition, coupled with the courage to speak out about or act on bold truths long before anyone else. More than that, they wonât stop when people disagree with them or try and shut them down, even if no one is listening. Itâs the side of Aries that tends to get overlooked - theyâre going to take the risk and say the thing, even if it means standing alone to do it. And thereâs no sign that quite enjoys saying âI told you soâ more than Aries.
Taurus - The Prophecy
âChange the prophecy, donât want money, just someone who wants my companyâ
This is quite the devastating penultimate conclusion to our Taurus arc. Throughout it all, all theyâve been asking is, can I please just have something that lasts? It also reinforces our challenge to the stereotype that Taurus is materialistic. Theyâre not chasing fame, money or glory, just something consistent and secure. Theyâre not usually the type to believe in fate, but The Prophecy is what happens when nothing tangible theyâve done so far has worked. And throughout it all theyâre incredibly resilient - a lesser woman wouldâve lost hope⊠but not Taurus.
Gemini - imgonnagetyouback
âTold my friends I hate you but I love you just the same, pick your poison babe, Iâm poison either wayâ
One of my favourite choices for Gemini across this entire project - this song is absolutely full of the same sharp wordplay and clever lyricism as some of our previous picks - and here it even comes across as almost effortless. Even the title itself has two meanings. Throughout the song, the narrator seems like theyâre wrestling with trying to decide what to do, but this is really more them entertaining a million different possibilities all at once, which is a very Gemini trait. Theyâre not inconsistent or flaky, theyâre just incredibly adaptable. And they still manage to make a joke at their own expense, too.
Cancer - Peter
âForgive me Peter, please know that I tried to hold on to the days when you were mineâ
If our main album pick explored Cancerâs vengeful side, weâre going back to our emotional memory roots with our Anthology choice. The entire song is Cancer living with the memories of a person they love. Iâve mentioned before that their planetary ruler governs childhood, and the fact this song uses a character whose entire mythology is constructed around childhood as a metaphor is verrrry Cancer-coded. Also, they donât tend to chase people in relationships, and they donât particularly enjoy waiting, but once someone takes up space in their heart they donât let them go easily, especially if that person made them a promise. Cancer will keep that promise long after the other person has forgotten it, even if they eventually have to turn out the light.
Leo - The Albatross
âAnd when that sky rains fire on you and you're persona non grata, I'll tell you how I've been there tooâ
I get it, this doesnât look like a very Leo song on paper. But (say it with me) hear me out! Leos are very aware of other peopleâs perception of them, and thatâs what The Albatross really boils down to. This gets miscast as ego for them, but itâs really about identity. Leo understands more than most that sometimes youâre judged for what you represent rather than what youâve done or who you are. Thereâs a very dignified Leo kind of confidence here too, it says people can believe what they want about me, but I know who I am. This is Leo living authentically despite the myth someone else has created about them.
Virgo - How Did It End?
âIt's happening again, how did it end? I can't pretend like I understand⊠how did it end?â
Our main album pick saw Virgo identifying the cause of a relationship breakdown, so for maximum emotional damage letâs give them the song where they just canât make sense of what happened. I find it fascinating to contrast this with Gemini since they share the same planetary ruler. Gemini = outward possibilities, Virgo = inward analysis. This is Virgo trying to find an answer for, or quite literally conduct a post-mortem on, something that is ultimately unanswerable. So where does that leave them? Having a breakdown to the bridge at 3am, probably.
Libra - The Manuscript
âNow and then I reread the manuscript, but the story isnât mine anymoreâ
I absolutely love this pick for Libra. Again this is probably going to be an unexpected choice, but letâs talk about it. The Manuscript takes raw heartbreak and turns it into a beautifully curated narrative. Venus rules over art, beauty and aesthetics, so taking pain theyâve experienced and turning it into an artistic gift that can be shared is very Libra. Weâve also been talking about their inherent need for balance. This song takes past relationships, acknowledges them, and ends with no bitterness or longing. Thereâs just a quiet acceptance before moving on - the emotional scales can finally settle.
Scorpio - The Black Dog
âNow I want to sell my house and set fire to all my clothes, and hire a priest to come and exorcise my demonsâ
If our main album choice was Scorpio after transformation, The Black Dog is Scorpio before the transformation. Pluto, their modern planetary ruler, governs secrets, so they tend to be incredibly private - the entire song sounds like a diary entry weâre not supposed to be reading. Theyâre also often stereotyped as intense or obsessive, and while thatâs how the song comes across on the surface, we can link this back to Scorpioâs tendency to feel absolutely everything so deeply. They donât love halfway, so when a relationship breaks down theyâre going to question everything. And I know every single Scorpio felt that âI hope itâs SHITTY in The Black Dogâ in their soul.
Sagittarius - The Bolter
âBut none of it is changing, that the chariot is waiting, hearts are hers for the breaking, thereâs escape in escapingâ
This is a song with really similar themes to our main album choice, so weâre building on the lore here. We could easily write The Bolter off as a song about commitment issues, but if we look at it through a Sagittarius lens it becomes about freedom as a core identity. The narrator isnât leaving because she likes hurting people, itâs because staying feels like sheâs losing herself. Thereâs a little bit of humorous self-awareness in there too, and Sagittarius wonât shy away from making a joke about themselves. Ultimately itâs a very Sagittarian refusal to settle for one life, or one chosen path.
Capricorn - thanK you aIMee
âAll that time you were throwing punches I was building something, and I couldn't wait to show you it was realâ
Saturn is the planet of life lessons, and thatâs basically the core message of thanK you aIMee. Capricorn takes the challenges and hard situations life deals them, and turns them into something they can build on. This isnât so much a revenge song as Capricorn saying, you hurt me, but look what it helped me to achieve. Thereâs no immediate gratification here either, Caps understand more than most that sometimes, those achievements take time. And weâre not erasing or romanticising the pain it took to get there - this is Capricorn saying, I wouldnât have chosen this, but this has shaped the person Iâve become.
Aquarius - Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
âIf you wanna break my cold, cold heart just say I loved you the way that you wereâ
This song is a three and half minute observation of a decade long relationship that also gets hung up on the what-ifs - immediately this flagged it for me as a very Aquarian song. Itâs quietly devastating, so on the surface itâs got that very stereotypical Aquarian cold detachment, but the bridge especially leans into the âprocessing strong emotions through deep thoughtsâ idea that weâve explored before for them. This song takes an extremely personal experience and expands it into something thatâs almost an existential thesis on timings and hypotheticals - which is an incredibly Aquarian way to view the world.
Pisces - I Hate It Here
âI hate it here so I will go to lunar valleys in my mind, when they found a better planet only the gentle survivedâ
I think this is one of the strongest Pisces-coded songs across Taylorâs entire discography. Letâs talk about it. This is a narrator who is deeply unsatisfied with their reality, so they retreat to fantasy worlds inside their imagination. Thatâs a textbook definition of Pisces. And theyâre not dissatisfied with life because they think theyâre better than it, itâs because they tend to yearn for something more gentle, or softer, or kinder than what reality can give them. They donât escape into a fantasy world because theyâre weak, theyâre looking for a world where their soul can feel at home, and thatâs so profoundly Piscean.
The Life Of A Showgirl is all about performance, ambition, glamour, true love and the complicated relationship between the person on stage and the one behind the curtain. It captures the zodiac at its most theatrical, magnetic and unapologetically alive - reclaiming confidence, embracing pleasure, remembering who you were, and rediscovering the best version of yourself after everything that tried to dim your light.
Aries - Actually Romantic

Leo - The Life Of A Showgirl

Capricorn - Father Figure
Aquarius - The Fate Of Ophelia
Pisces - Ruin The Friendship
Aries - Actually Romantic
âIt's actually sweet, all the time you've spent on me, itâs honestly wild, all the effort you've put inâ
One important thing about Aries - if you come for them, theyâre absolutely going to lock horns with you. This song is a fiery clapback to someone making jokes at their expense - while others might shy away from the confrontation, they meet it head on. Thereâs a distinctly Aries message throughout this song - you tried to insult me but you accidentally gave me attention, so somehow that makes me the winner. Itâs their unshakeable self-worth and refusal to let someone elseâs opinion define them that really shine here, making it a fitting end for our Aries journey.
(Second choice: CANCELLED!)
Taurus - Wi$h Li$t
âI just want you ⊠we tell the world to leave us the fuck alone and they do, wowâ
Before we start, let me just say if thereâs any sign whoâs going to tell you to leave them the fuck alone, itâs probably going to be a Taurus. But I digress. Since we gave Taurus one of the most devastating Anthology picks, letâs finally give them what they want â and what they truly deserve. Our entire arc for Taurus has been about the difference between what people think they want and what they actually need. It isnât the yacht life, the awards, the fame, or the luxury brands. Itâs the simplicity of a safe place to land, a love that stays, and something real enough to build a life around - an answer to the prophecy, if you will.
(Second choice: Elizabeth Taylor)
Gemini - Wood
âSeems to be that you and me, we make our own luck, a bad sign is all goodâ
Throughout our Gemini picks, weâve heavily focused on their endless love of communication, and this song is no exception. This might be one of Taylorâs most playful tracks. Itâs packed with light-hearted innuendos, metaphors to decode, and vivid symbolsâall things that Gemini delights in. It deconstructs superstitions - something they donât tend to believe in - and reframes them in a very mischievous, unmistakably Mercurial way. Rather than being afraid of bad luck, the song almost laughs at it. Thatâs very classically Gemini - curious, clever, and always ready to rewrite the story.
(Second choice: Actually Romantic)
Cancer - Honey
âBut you touch my face, redefine all of those blues when you say, honeyâ
Cancerâs planetary ruler governs the home - Honey is absolutely full of that very Cancerian flavour of domesticity. Beyond actually discussing a physical home, this reinforces the idea that Cancer often also view their relationship partner as a metaphorical home. In addition, they do have a reputation for being very emotionally sensitive and carrying the weight and memory of past scars, so by saying actually, youâve rewritten the meaning of these words that have previously been used to hurt me? This is like their kryptonite. Itâs Cancerian emotional healing at its best.
(Second choice: The Fate Of Ophelia)
Leo - The Life Of A Showgirl
âAnd all the headshots on the walls of the dance hall are of the bitches who wish I'd hurry up and die, but Iâm immortal now babydollsâ
The title track makes the perfect companion song to our main TTPD album pick (I Can Do It With A Broken Heart). This song is peak Leo main character energy, and again displays their innate understanding of the power of performance. While they might maintain a glittering public image, Leo understands the heavy cost and vulnerability behind maintaining such an image - the jealousy, the exploitation, the fear of being discarded. A healed Leo will be able to say, criticise me all you want, but Iâm still going to shine because I truly know my worth. A very satisfying conclusion to our Leo story.
(Second choice: Father Figure)
Virgo - Eldest Daughter
âEvery eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughterâ
The archetype of the eldest daughter fits earth signs almost perfectly. Letâs look at why Virgo won out for this particular track 5. Eldest Daughter is one of Taylorâs most chronically self-aware songs, and thereâs nobody that does self-awareness quite like Virgo. Thereâs also lots of nostalgia and memory here, which you initially think would go to Cancer, but itâs the specific details and observations that lead this more towards Virgo - itâs a more Mercurial way of remembering. Virgos also tend to use hyper-competency as a shield for their emotional vulnerability - which makes the bridge of this song the perfect ending for our Virgo arc.
(Second choice: Ruin The Friendship)
Libra - Elizabeth Taylor
âAll my white diamonds and lovers are forever, donât you ever end up anything but mineâ
This is a reeeal sensual, Venusian track. Iâve mentioned previously how Venus governs beauty and art, and this song is rife with aesthetic, beautiful imagery. Libra wins the edge over Taurus here (same planetary ruler) for me because of our overarching theme of balance - itâs wanting a real, true love and having to balance that with constantly being in the spotlight of fame. Elizabeth Taylor herself is regarded as an icon of timeless elegance, effortless charm and legendary love - and that reads like the ultimate Libra manifesto.
(Second choice: Wi$h Li$t)
Scorpio - CANCELLED!
âNow they've broken you like they've broken me, but a shattered glass is a lot more sharpâ
Letâs look at our Scorpio checklist shall we? Embracing the darkness? Check. Intense loyalty to those closest to them? Check. Reclaiming their power? Big fat check. This song might as well be wearing a massive badge that says âI AM A SCORPIOâ. Their planetary ruler (Pluto) literally represents the underworld, so Iâm not sure how many more signposts we need. This song almost even invites the listener to do their worst, because whatever happens, Scorpioâs ultimate message couldnât be clearer - the things that break you are what make you powerful.
(Second choice: Wood)
Sagittarius - Opalite
âThis is just a temporary speed bump, but failure brings you freedomâ
I love this for Sagittarius. Our TTPD/Anthology picks centred around them leaving toxic situations, and Opalite is what happens when they finally find what theyâre looking for. Good fortune is a key cornerstone of Jupiterâs realm and the shift from an onyx night to an opalite sky perfectly mirrors that inherent optimism that most Sagittarius seem to embody. They have an almost uncanny ability to walk through darkness and choose instead to learn from it, and trust that the next chapter will be better than the last. A very fitting conclusion for Sagittarius.
(Second choice: The Life Of A Showgirl)
Capricorn - Father Figure
âMistake my kindness for weakness and find your card cancelled, I was your father figure, you pulled the wrong trigger, this empire belongs to meâ
Capricorn walked into this album wearing a power suit and claimed this song immediately. Yes alright itâs a song about ambition, but sometimes the stereotypes ring true. And ultimately this song is more than that. Loyalty and trust are incredibly valuable to Capricorns - theyâll give everything for the people who are important to them. But if you hurt and betray them? Take credit for their work? Theyâre not going to scream and cry about it because thatâs not a practical investment for their time. Instead theyâll probably devise a swift, strategic punishment then cut you off completely. At the end of our Capricorn story, the empire belongs to them.
(Second choice: Eldest Daughter)
Aquarius - The Fate Of Ophelia
âI swore my loyalty to me, myself and I, right before you lit my sky upâ
This one had to sit with me for a while, but hear me out. Aquarius is often stereotyped as the outsider of the zodiac, but this isnât because theyâre weird, or quirky - itâs because they possess such strong inherent values that they often reject social norms and the expected path. Even the song title alone - Opheliaâs story as a character has already been written, Aquarius applies the story to their own life then challenges the ending and completely rewrites it. The idea of someone sitting alone in a tower swearing loyalty only to themselves is also a very Aquarian image. But then someone âsavesâ them by way of seeing them for their true authentic self? Thereâs hardly anything that matches the feeling of being understood by someone else for Aquarius.
(Second choice: Opalite)
Pisces - Ruin The Friendship
âMy advice is always ruin the friendship, better that than regret it for all timeâ
A three and a half minute song that spends most of the time romanticising something that couldâve been but never was? Sounds like Pisces to me - theyâre ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, imagination and deep, soulful connections. Their fantasies are a safe harbour for them, allowing them to process their emotions in a way that feels protected and untouchable. And while weâve talked a lot about the Pisces tendency to use their fantasies as an escape from the real world, this is a Pisces who has learned the ultimate lesson - donât spend your entire life living in an illusion that you were too afraid to make a reality.
Picture To Burn, The Way I Loved You, Sparks Fly, Treacherous, Blank Space, I Did Something Bad, The Man, my tears ricochet, closure, The Great War, But Daddy I Love Him, Cassandra, Actually Romantic
Their Taylor journey is about self-assurance: they are impulsive, passionate, fiercely independent, and refuse to be contained - they turn heartbreak, criticism, and restriction into fuel for their fire.
Apple Music | Spotify
Debut - Picture To Burn
âSo watch me strike a match on all my wasted time, as far as I'm concerned, you're just another picture to burnâ
(Second choice: Shouldâve Said No)
Fearless - The Way I Loved You
âHeâs charming and endearing and Iâm comfortable⊠but I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rainâ
Speak Now - Sparks Fly
âDrop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain, kiss me on the sidewalkâ
Aries can see someone they like, think âthat personâs gonna be bad for meâ and rush in anyway. Theyâre drawn to chemistry, adrenaline, and acting on first instinct - someone exciting enough to keep their attention and unpredictable enough to feel like an adventure. Aries doesnât always want the safe choice, they want the person who makes them feel alive. This song perfectly captures that impulsive attraction where the warning signs are there, but the thrill is too strong to ignore. They want to know what happens when the sparks catch into a fire.
(Second choice: Electric Touch)
Red - Treacherous
âAnd I just think you should, think you should know that nothing safe is worth the driveâ
1989 - Blank Space
âSo itâs gonna be forever or itâs gonna go down in flames, you can tell me when itâs over if the high was worth the painâ
Reputation - I Did Something Bad
âI can feel the flames on my skin, crimson red paint on my lips, if a man talks shit then I owe him nothingâ
Lover - The Man
âIâd be a fearless leader, Iâd be an alpha type, when everyone believes ya, whatâs that like?â
(Second choice: Afterglow)
folklore - my tears ricochet
âI didn't have it in myself to go with grace, and so the battleships will sink beneath the wavesâ
(Second choice: mad woman)
evermore - closure
âDonât treat me like some situation that needs to be handledâ
(Second choice: itâs time to go)
Midnights - The Great War
âThere's no morning glory, it was war it wasn't fair, and we will never go back to that bloodshed, crimson cloverâ
TTPD - But Daddy I Love Him
âIâd rather burn my whole life down than listen to one more second of all this bitching and moaningâ
The Anthology - Cassandra
âWhen it's burn the bitch they're shrieking, when the truth comes out, it's quietâ
You know by now how much I love an unconventional choice, so letâs get right into it. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the pioneer. And thereâs no sign that quite enjoys saying âI told you soâ more than Aries.
TLOAS - Actually Romantic
âIt's actually sweet, all the time you've spent on me, itâs honestly wild, all the effort you've put inâ
