Severe weather is a good bet today across the Northern Plains, with storms expected to fire later this afternoon around a surface triple point, dryline, and warm front in eastern South Dakota. Storms that form will be capable of damaging winds and large hail, and also a couple of tornadoes. The severe weather threat is dependent on the target area getting enough heating through the day to increase instability, there are some signs this may not work out in storm’s favor — but the shear profiles themselves are highly suggestive of tornadic supercells. With high PW values, the atmosphere is rather moist and it’s likely any storms will be rather HP as well so exercise caution if you are storm spotter in the northern Plains today!

So apparently Canada is having some interesting tornado problems.
