A very long eulogy. . . . Today we lost Calliope P-M. Torres, the 3 PM Mice-Hunter, Ruler of All Blanket-and-Sajadah, Window Lover. Our dearest Callie was a curious cat, a very smart one and a clingy girl. Four days ago she ate rat poison in her hunt, and was fighting non-stop, she fought her best. Being selfish, I hate that I couldn't be there for her last days because I would've done better than the panic spirals at home. It's heartbreaking. . Farewell, Callie. At least you don't have to fight anymore. You're my best 2 years. . I first came across Taylor through You Belong with Me when it was charting on Billboard 100 in 2009, & it leads me to my discovery of Love Story, Breathe, and Fifteen. It strucks me right in the guts because I can feel all my growing up insecurities and the wonderment of being a hopeless romantic in her records. . I found out that it's okay to be heartbroken and still believe in the unbelievable concept of actually being happy through of love, through being honestly vulnerable about your feelings. She showed me that I can stand up to my bullies and tell them they don't get to bring my dreams down. I learned from her that it's human to make mistakes and miscalculated choices, and you can raise above and fix it; to make fun of people's twisted perspective of you; and that it's very possible to laugh at the condescending misperception of the crowd, and then prove them wrong. Through the story of her early stardom and her trials, to me she's a reminder that you are allowed to work as hard as possible on your impossible dreams—because it might not be that impossible after all; and she's the proof. I've had almost everyone who knows this Swiftie side of me in my life rolling their eyes at me, asking me not to play this song in the car (LOL nope).. Even I think none of my exes really understand why I love her so so so much (one of them regularly skips her songs just to pissed me off lol wow). I've fight the stans of her exes in class, and fight the people who call her a failure in music. Bubbles ran through my mouth explaining her case vs Kimnye & Scooter & Scott. There's none of her songs I couldn't memorize. Today, she's a true music advocate, halfway to EGOT, the Woman of the Decade in Billboard, the Artist of the Year (5 wins in this decade) and the Artist of the Decade on AMA. Today, around 10 years of standing by her, once again, she made me proud of being her fan. I don't care if you don't care about my stupid obsession, but she's the powerhouse of many values I'm standing for. And I'll keep on building a castle out of the bricks thrown at me, because she keeps reminding me that I can.
