Week 14 Meeting 2 (2-11-11)

We met up to compile the documentation today. We put all our parts together, sorted out the formatting and collected the appendices and links. Then we double checked everything and when it was fine, we sent it to the printers! A trip up the hill to the library and into Assignment Minder it went. :)

Week 14 Meeting (31-10-2011)

Today we met up to decide who would be writing each part of the documentation report. We divided the sections up equally and established everything that needs to be written, as well as additional elements listed on the final task sheet.

Natalie - Game Overview, Nodes and Interactions

Phoebe - Design Reflection

Sharani - Case Studies

Formatting, ARG Futures and Reflection, Appendices, Links and References - All (Collaborative)

We also organised to buy a USB to hand in our media elements on, and that we should meet up again on Wednesday 02/11/11 to bring together all our parts and format the report to look professional. We aim to hand in on Wednesday.

The finalised coded document (to print in z2) - forgot to post it last week. We thought including 4 co-ordinates (to create a cross-section) would make it a little harder for players to decode, so four co-ordinates are hidden on the page in red, as well as the words 'map' 'co-ordinates' and 'cross-section'. This will lead players to the spot where we've places the next clue.

The finished Missing Person Poster. I chose this photograph to be Spencer because he wasn't surrounded by possessions. Spencer is living on the streets so I thought a picture of him with a guitar and a nice bedroom with posters and stuff would seem out of character. Also, he looked a bit older in this one (at time of disappearing he would have been 21). Note: It shall be printed in black and white.

Week 12 Meeting (17-10-2011)

We all met early again for this meeting so that we could take the photos we needed as well as attend the tutorial.

We went up to Level 5 and took the photos in an empty room there. We had all brought materials to use to create the scene. It seems to have gone well, we'll upload the photos onto here when we've finished with them (we need to edit them to look like security camera shots).

Once we finished we went to the tutorial and got some advice from our tutor and did general things like giving someone a file to put online or a link to where to upload stuff; discussed what exactly was to be written in Spencer's diary (the background story, evidence/names and his plan) and and other finishing touches. We also did a mini run through of the entire game. We did discover one little glitch. We got to one point and none of us really knew what came from that node. We discussed it and sorted it all out, so no worries there!

For next week we're neatening up the rough edges and planned again to meet earlier, but at 3:30 instead of 4.

Here is an updated version of the ProBull website. It has Home, About, ProBull Drug and Contact pages to make it less bloggish and more professional.

Week 11 Meeting (10-10-2011)

In our meeting this week, we wrote up the script for Annie's video; Annie's message bank message and Spencer's podcast. We also completely sorted out what is happening with the photographs and found a time when we can do them. Lastly, we looked at the parts of the ARG that we have been working on to see that we are all on the right track and to ensure cohesion between all the platforms and clues.

Here's a list of things that we sorted out:

Mention that Annie is a QUT student in her description on her blog so that it makes sense that she's placed the pamphlets at QUT etc.

Annie also mentions were she works on her blog.

The players will find the bulk of the story background in the book with the pictures. It will serve to fill in blanks that the players might have concerning how Spencer's able to do what he's doing.

ID photos with 'Deceased' and black lines over eyes will be placed in above book.

Found a spot for 'hiding' the book that is appropriate.

We arranged to meet at 4pm next Monday (17th Oct) for our next meeting.
