Your son was recently brutally murdered and then brought back to life, and your grandson is traumatized. Yet have i seen one card? Heard one phone call? No
âDarling, we are quite concerned about Toby. Weâll check up on him soon, we thought he needed some time away from things. As for Marcus.. Well. Iâm sure that he got himself involved in unsavoury situations, as usual.â
So are you douchenozzles to both your kids or just Marcus
âUnlike Marcus, Amelia has made something of herself and has not disappointed us. I suppose that suffices as an answer?â
Cecil took a slow breath, steeling his nerves before knocking on the door.
The door opened with a soft click, answered by a woman in a cocktail dress, holding a glass in her right hand. She quirked an eyebrow at the man at the door, taking a sip. âYes?â

Cecil looked stuck between bolting and throwing up. Instead, he gave his best radio professional smile and extended a hand.
âHello, Iâm Cecil Palmer. This is the Vansten Manor I hope?â
âIndeed it is. Do you need to speak to my husband?â She smiled politely, placing her hand in his. âCharmed to meet you, Mr. Palmer. My name is Eleanor.â
âItâs a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Vansten. Actually, I had simply come to introduce myself.â
Clasping her hand gently, Cecil gave Eleanor a firm handshake before backing off. His smile remained bright, voice deepening to the soothing rumble he so often used on his show.
âIâm dating your son, Marcus, and I wanted to exchange pleasantries so weâre familiar with each other before the holiday season and all the mandatory family get-togethers.â
Eleanorâs smile very quickly diminished. âMy son? Yes...well. I must warn you, Marcus isnât the best person to be involved with.â He dusted her dress, as if trying to banish his name into the air.
"'Melia!" Erin's face softened into familiarity, her arms wrapping around the other. "Mels! Feels like forever since we've talked!"
Amelia beamed back, hopping in place. âErin~ Youâre right, we should hang out more. Itâs definitely on the top of my list~!â
Amelia is precious please stop doing this to me
(( Never :D ))
(( Family bios are up! Hopefully that gives a bit more info on them. ))
"Grandpa? Y' called fer me?" {{HI I MUST INTERACT}}
Billius perked to the sound of Tobyâs voice, giving him a curt smile and a pat on the head. âYes. Iâve something to ask you.â
He winced slightly at the pat, trying to stand straight. âWhat didja wanna ask?â
âI was wondering if you would like a different kind of schooling. YourâŠfather.. is apt to neglect a fair few aspects of your education.â
âWhat kind of schooling? Thâ teachers donâ talk tâ me at the elementary school, anâ neither do most people.â
âIâm quite certain I could find a boarding school that would suit your...affliction.â He sneered at the wings, patting Tobyâs head once more. âBesides, staying cooped up in that house with your father is no way to live.â
"It's a pleasure to meet my dearest's family. Dr. Neil Crowe, Marcus's partner."
âPartner?â Billius sneered, as if the word was acid on his tongue. âHow do you mean, partner? Iâm quite sure you donât mean of the business variety.â He scoffed.
âMarcus and I are dating, sir.â Neil answered calmly, hands behind his back. âThere are no partners in my business.â
âHow absurd.â Billius practically spat it, folding his arms and standing prim and proper. He adjusted his tie with a haughty sniff, and leveled his eyes with Neilâs once more. âAnd tell me why you think youâre a match for the likes of him?â
âMr. Vansten, Iâm a respected medical professional.â Neil answered matter-of-factly, standing straight and tall. âI believe weâre a fit enough match. He.. didnât want me to come here.â
Billius shook his head, raising his hand in pause. âI have no qualm with your choice of career. What Iâm asking is why you, a respected medical professional as you put it, are in league with my complete failure of a child?â He blinked, as if the question was the most trivial thing.
âFailure?â Something akin to a bewildered chuckle escaped the dentist. âWe appear to have very different interpretations of failure. He owns a multi-million dollar company.â
âAs do I. I hardly see that as a viable reason to celebrate. Marcus has a long and growing list of failures, with his transformation into a non-existent creature at the top of the list.â
Cecil took a slow breath, steeling his nerves before knocking on the door.

ALL VANSTENS GO - Thoughts on Toby and how he came to be Marcus's son?
Billius: âŠHe has potential. A bright young man with an unfortunate circumstance for a father. Though I will commend my son on saving him.
Eleanor: Such a darling thing⊠shame about the wings, really. He would have gone on to do great things had he existed.
Amelia: I think they go really well together! Imagine how lonely they wouldâve been without each other.. Poor guys..
