Help an incredible independent Chinese fashion magazine!

My friends at Elsewhere Zine are in the home stretch of their kickstarter campaign. With only about a day left they’re almost at their goal but the final hurdle is always the most difficult. I back the publication and mission of Elsewhere so incredibly much because it provides one of the few truly genuine, global, perspectives on fashion, culture, and social issues. They literally have editors and staff working on content around the world to make their vision a reality. This is not the same 30 photographers, models, and writers from New York you see in every fashion magazine. It would undoubtedly be amazing to see Elsewhere’s 12˚ issue realized as a physical publication to mark a level of achievement but more so it’s about reclaiming a space for independent artists in an industry that’s accustomed to passing up real talent for big names. The staff and contributors are talented; the images are beautiful; the messages are meaningful. Take part in giving a voice to artists that actually have something to say. China’s independent fashion magazine, Elsewhere (另个空间), is going to print.

Originally existing in an exclusively digital space, Elsewhere is bringing its unrestrained voice to paper with the release of issue N°13 RACE. This evolution reflects our commitment to the materiality of print and creating a magazine devoted to timeless content.

With RACE we are creating a movement that promotes harmony, cooperation, and togetherness. We are facing the realities of racial divide head on, with specific emphasis on its presence in and around Chinese culture and within the fashion industry. Currently under construction, global fashion talents are working together, forming content that reflects both internally and outwardly - an uninhibited look at race.

Our Kickstarter campaign ends in just over a day, and we are currently 85% to our goal.
