Truly I think this journey got me to improve my art and hang out with some really stellar people in the fandom. Thank you again to @walrusface, @zombiearmor and @butterflysist3r for organising this. I wish I could say "Go read Courtesan AU proper!" but the AU does not exist outside of the VCU in AO3 (....yet? it should, in my opinion, there is an entire plot in a discord server waiting to be shown off to the world, butterflysist3r...JUST SAYING)

I also took part as an artist, illustrating @butterflysist3r's Tangled AU chapter. I'm very, very much a baby-artist, so this drop-kicked me out of my comfort zone and taught me so much along the way.

To round out the VCU the artists have come onto the board with their pieces bringing to life a scene from each guest writer's chapter. So after the writing portion of @theverstavecinematicuniverse finished, we held a little poll on the NL server as to who had a worse time traversing the various AUs. I promised art(?) of the winner, and Verso won by a landslide! So here is my MS paint with a mouse art.

Not shown: all the free refills for coffee that he can get.

Also not shown: Gustave crying because he didn't win the poll. (He is apparently getting carrots though, so he might be okay in a bit.)

VCU: The Epilogue by Walrusface

Gustave and Verso finally find a world that's all their own.

And that was Week Four of The VCU.

This week:

Verso encountered a universe where Gustave appeared to be dead, with @mustachelabbit

Gustave had his turn in a vampire world, with @walrusface

Verso had a bittersweet reunion with Aline Dessendre, with @einradi

Gustave woke up as a merman, with @didherodown

Verso ended up with wings and a beak with @zombiearmor

Verso and Gustave reunited in a world where Gustave is a ghost, with @didherodown

Gustave found himself in a world where he had lived to be old and grey with Verso, with @softforhenry

And Verso woke up burned in a world where Gustave has found work as a courtesan, with @butterflysist3r

There's just one chapter left to go, folks: the epilogue to the whole adventure is coming tomorrow.

Verso finds himself in a world where he bears burn scars from the Dessendre fire, and seems to have sought companionship with a version of Gustave.
