Oh I’ve done it again. ✨⁣⁣ I love reading new books, I swear. This time of year makes me ache for this series so much, and for some reason this year in particular I’ve been missing it so much more than usual, so I decided not to make myself feel guilty for being slow on reading new books and reading this series again. Finished the first book a few days ago, and I’m onto number 2. It’s been pretty quiet over here in my little world. Being a full time teacher has sucked up so much of my energy, even if I’m working remotely. Every time I sit down to read I’m overwhelmed with guilt for not using that time to check on my students or catch up on lesson planning. After school hours just feels even harder because my boyfriend comes home from HIS teaching job and I just want to spend time with him catching up on our favorite shows or cooking dinner or just having good conversations. ⁣ - with that being said, I did manage to get in a few good reads this year (so far)! ⁣ I FINALLY started reading the Game of Thrones books (officially named A Song of Ice and Fire), after being a huge fan of the show for so many years. And oh boyyyyy did I eat this up. I know there’s still so many other books in the series and that it’s not even DONE but this book changed so many ways I view writing now. George R.R. Martin has crafted one of the most symbolic and beautifully written works I think that could ever exist as far as fantasy goes. I feel like I know the characters so much more and I’m definitely understanding the cursed 8th season more.. (pls don’t hurt me).
