And I realized something else (yes, I’m very insightful today, ok?). They stole my fantasy.

I was happily hiding myself from the horrors of the world (very real horrible horrors we are currently living in this dystopian world) in my lovely fantasy world with angels and demons who could fall in love, with kids who could stop Armageddon, with witches who predicted the future and witchfinders who fell in love with them.

But they (those horrible cishet men) took that fantasy world and erased it and made it to never have existed at all. And replaced it with you know what? The horrible dystopian world of horrors we live in.

They (those horrible cishet men) must feel very smug thinking they are very clever, but if I wanted to see a story about the fucking real universe, the one where there’s no magic, I wouldn’t be watching and reading fucking fantasy, you know? They missed their target audience.

I know I like to put here some nice gif of the boys but... I just want to watch everything burn rn.

Yeah, I've definitely landed on S2-3 as "authorized fanfiction". A fun thing to play with, a way it could have gone, but not the way it definitely went. Taking what I love, treating the rest as ignorable. Asa and Anthony are darling AUs, alongside many other human AU versions I love.

Meanwhile, Crowley is frustrated that everything has gone cashless so gluing coins to the sidewalk is assumed to be a joke, and Aziraphale spends long hours complaining about Shein and the inability to get decent clothing these days, now that he's expanding his wardrobe. They take long walks and long drives and spend long, lazy summer days in the garden behind their cottage listening to birds singing and bees buzzing and drinking gin fizzes and eating sun-warm strawberries. Every year, the first one to hear a nightingale in spring gets to pick where they have dinner (the other picks what they do after). They toast to another year of being an us, and to the world.

Crowley let out a whiny groan. "Just one, I promise. Rex here won't mind it," he insisted.

"Not while I'm looking..." Aziraphale whispered, turning towards a funny looking bone exhibited near the end of the room.

Crowley smirked, took out his pen and drew a pair of glasses on the T-Rex's picture on the display.

Finale got us so collectively fucked that no one is even acknowledging it's (TV) Good Omens's 7 year anniversary.

Anyways here's to a show that gave us one of the most heartfelt, moving, complicated, humanly flawed and hopeful queer love stories of the century. Here's to a show that brought so many people together. Here's to a show that motivated artists and writers to create some of the most beautiful works of art ever known to man. Here's to a show that celebrated being human. Here's to a show that so many queer folks saw themselves in and affirmed for them that being themselves is the most powerful act one can do. Here's to a show that taught us that our world is messy and complicated and awful and wonderful and worth saving and most of all that it can and should be saved. Here's to a show that taught us people are rarely good or bad but just people, and even though we make mistakes along the way we still deserve the opportunity to decide for ourselves who we will be. Here's to a show that at its core is about love and hope being the things that bind us together.

Here's to you all and all of us who are not going anywhere. Here's to the world.
